SLCS SamaajSeva -“Financial Literacy”

SLCS SamaajSeva – an extension activity on “Financial Literacy” was organised by the “Lakshya” the Department Association of MBA Program on 22nd Jan 2022, at 10.30 am in the SamuthayaKoodam, K.Sevalpatti near Kariyapatti. The event was organised to create the awareness in learning and comprehending various aspects of Central Govt. Schemes among village people. Totally 2 faculty members Prof. P Selvam & Dr.Sekar were  the program Co-ordinators and 3 I-MBA students organised this activity. Totally25 people from K. Sevalpatti got benefited through this SLCS SamaajSeva.

SLCS Samaaj seva – Extension Activity on “Prevention & Safety measures for Covid-19”

On January 21, 2022 D. P. Roy Choudhury Association of Animation Department organized an Extension Activity creating awareness on “Prevention & Safety measures for Covid-19” between 11.00 A.M. and 01.00 P.M. The Students from I & II year Animation actively participated and gave a peech among the people in the village about the preventive measures against Covid-19. S. Madhubala from II year Animation creates awareness using the Animated Videos which will be easy for the people to understand the seriousness of the issue. P.Surya from II year & D.Jeyanthan from I year Animation demonstrated and educated about the Hand hygiene, hand washing techniques, correct way of wearing mask and travelling advice.

The local community were sensitized about the spread of Corona Virus and its prevention. Educating the rural people about the preventive measures, talking to them about their fears, and giving them a sense of some control over risk of infection helped in reducing their anxiety. Mr.N.Naveendra Kumar, Instructor, Department of Animation and Mr.Jeyaraman, Lab Incharge guided the Students during this extension activity. Totally 50 People in the village were benefitted from this programme.

ASSOCIATION MEET –KALAISARAL

Kalaisaral, the Association Meet, was conducted by the Association Members  of  TechnoFest on 19.01.2022  via Google Meet. Students from II B.Sc CS (SSS) participated in the event. Ms.K.Shahithya of  II B.Sc C.S (SSS) compered the programme. The program was started with welcome address given by Ms.A.Yuvashree of II B.Sc CS (SSS). Mrs.V.Gayathri, AP of CS (SSS) gave the felicitation address. Totally 51 students participated in this program.

Following non-technical events were conducted for the edutainment of the students.

PARENTS- TEACHERS MEETING

The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management organized Parents- Teachers Meeting for the first year students (41 students) on 19.1.2022 at 10.00 A.M.  It was held on a digital platform through Google meet. The meeting was organized under the guidance of Mr.C.Suresh Kumar, Head and Mr. K.Perumal Kannan, PTA coordinator. The main objective of the meeting was to discuss student’s performance and devise ways to enrich their learning experience. The class in charge announced the student’s attendance and I internal mark details and also discussed on the preparation for semester examination. The PTA meeting was ended with the conclusion that the progress and development of the students depend on the joint effort of parents and teachers.

PARENT TEACHERS’ MEETING REPORT

The Department of  B.Com ( B& I)  conducted  online   PTA (Parents Teachers Association) Meeting I for the students of I B.Com ( B& I) on 19.01.22. Mrs. G. Karthika, Assistant Professor of Commerce conducted the meeting. The attendance and Academic performance of the students were discussed with their parents in regards to the first internal test. Out of 81 Students,69students along with the parents attended PTA Meeting .

TECH TALK

The Department of CS (SSS) & TechnoSoft Association jointly conducted a Tech Talk program on 19.01.2022 via Google Meet. II B.Sc CS (SSS) Students participated in the event. The session was started with the welcome address delivered by Ms.A.Yuvashree of  II B.Sc CS (SSS). Mrs.V.Gayathri, Assistant Professor of CS (SSS) delivered the felicitation address. Students from II CS (SSS) presented a paper on various innovative topics and the details are given below. The entire session was very useful to the students and also helped them to improve their presentation & technical skill. Finally, the session was ended with vote of thanks proposed by Ms.Tharuni  of II B.Sc CS (SSS). Totally 51 students participated in this program.

Report on “ PTA Meeting”

The Parents Teachers Meeting was conducted on 18th Jan ’2022 at 3.45 p.m to 4.30 p.m through Google Meet Platform. The Meeting link was sent to the student’s at 3.30 p. m. Dr M Subramanian – Head RLIMS Inaugurated the Meeting. Prof. P Selvam welcomed all the students and their parents. During the PTA meet, the faculty members discussed about the progression and fees pending details of the students. 67 I-MBA students along with their Parents have participated in this meeting.

The Following Points were discussed

  1. The Parents Teachers’ Meeting started at 03.15 p.m. through Google Platform. The Link for the Meetings was sent to the students at 03.15 p.m.
  2. K. Rajesh Kumar HOD inaugurated the meeting. Dr. B. Meenakshi Sundaram, Assistant Professor welcomed all the students and their parents. The performance of the I BBA students in I Internal Test and the percentage of attendance as on December 2021 were informed to all the parents. The details regarding the payment of fees on or before January 2022 was also intimated to all the parents.
  3. Out of 32 students, 29 Students along with the parents attended the meeting. Remaining 3 students expressed their inability to attend the meeting due to urgent meeting at their offices and emergency situations.
  4. Some parents requested us to arrange for extra coaching class to improve the performance of the students and also to inform them about the timing of evening bus schedule and also to send results through common SMS.
  5. The meeting ended at 05.00 p.m.

“Extension Activity through (SLCS Samajseva) Supplementation of Calcium Enriched Foods among Elderly Women”

FAGAS an Association from the Department of Food Science and Processing Management of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized an extension activity through “Supplementation of Calcium Enriched Foods among Elderly Women” on 18.01.2022 at Thoothukudi.  Ms.Esha Sowmiya Devi of II Year FSPM gave a brief note on nutrition education among the elderly women. To create awareness among them she prepared and supplemented the calcium enriched food. Totally 4 students participated in this activity.

Extension Activity (SLCSSamajSeva) through “Nutritional Guidance on Prevalence of Osteoporosis”

FAGAS an Association from the Department of Food Science and Processing Management of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized an extension activity (SLCSSamajSeva) at Kappalur through “Nutritional Guidance on Prevalence of Osteoporosis” on 18.01.2022.  The students of II Year FSPM briefed the importance of calcium intake in relation to bone health for the menopausal women under the age group 40-50 years. Totally 13 students of FSPM participated in this extension activity.
