Seminar on “Combating stress with simple techniques”

ZEAL, an Association of BBA Department, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized a seminar on “Combating stress with simple techniques” on 30.12.2021. Ms.N.Sharmila, Chairperson, BOOM Welfare Community Trust, Madurai & Master Trainer, Madurai City Police, was the resource person. Totally 64 students comprising of I and II year BBA participated and got benefited through the program. The resource person demonstrated some simple techniques to be followed in tackling and managing stress. She also highlighted the positive impact of stress.

 

TECH TALK

The Department of CS (SSS) &TechnoSoft Association jointly conducted a Tech Talk program on 30.12.2021 at F40 Class room.  I & II B.Sc CS (SSS) students participated in the event. The session started with the welcome address delivered by Mr.Ramji of II B.Sc CS (SSS). Mrs.V.Gayathri, AP of CS (SSS) delivered a felicitation address. Totally 86 (I year =37, II year =49) students participated in this program.

Alumni Interaction on “Recent framework implementation in Quality Assurance for Various Foods”

An alumni interaction session on “Recent framework implementation in Quality Assurance for Various Foods” and  best practices for higher education was organized by FAGAS, an association of the Department of Food Science and Processing Management & Alumni Cell for II year students on 30.12.2021 in G14 Class room at 12.50 pm. Ms.S.Abinaya (Batch2018-21) spoke about the best practices for seeking higher education   pursuing post graduation in this field. She also mentioned various opportunities available and the rewarding experiences that she is having right now Production Data Analyst in Ruby Food Products. Totally 13 students actively participated and clarified their doubts at the end of the session.

ASSOCIATION MEET – KALAISARAL

Kalaisaral, the Association Meet, was conducted by the TechnoFest Association Members on 30.12.2021 at F40 class room. Students from I and II B.Sc CS (SSS) participated in the event. Ms.K.Shahithya of II B.Sc C.S (SSS) compered the programme. The event started with the welcome address given by Mr.Ramji of II B.Sc CS (SSS).Mrs.V.Gayathri, AP of CS (SSS) gave the felicitation address. Totally 86 (I year =37, II year =49) students participated in this program.

ALUMNI INTERACTION ON MOTIVATIONAL TALK TO IMPROVE THE LEARNING PROCESS

An alumni interaction session on motivational talk to improve the learning process was organized by FAGAS, an association of the Department of Food Science and Processing Management & Alumni Cell for III year students on 30.12.2021 in G14 Class room at 12.30pm.  Ms.S.Sasiprabha (Batch2018-21) interacted with I and II year FSPM students by sharing her three years of college experience. She motivated the students to participate in both curricular and extra-curricular activities and also she insisted the students have the habit of self learning .Totally 26 students actively interacted in the session and got clarified their doubts .

VISUAL LEARNING PROGRAM REPORT 2021 – 22

Department of Languages and Mathematics of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, organized a Visual learning program on 29.12.2021 in college auditorium.  In this program I and II year students of all departments of our college participated.

The department of Tamil telecast the documentary films of “Raja Raja cholan”and “Rajendra cholan”. The movie visualized the bravery act, culture and tradition of the Tamilians.

The department of English telecast the feature film “Mind your language”. The students enjoyed the film. The film made the students to know the importance of Communication Skills and the importance of Pronunciation of a language. The I & II year students had the relevance to the Course General English IV, Communicative English I & Campus Recruitment Training II.

The department of Mathematics telecast a movie named “Children’s Heaven”, wherein the relationship between a sister and brother was visualized by the students. They also enhance the Universal Human Values by watching the movie. Totally 550 students (I year 276 and II Year 274) participated and got through this visual learning session.

Field Survey on Consumer Purchasing Behavior

Consumer Awareness Club along with ZEAL, an Association of BBA Depatment, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized a Field Survey on the topic “A study on Consumer Purchasing Behaviour in Madurai City” on 29.12.2021. Students of II BBA prepared a structured questionnaire on purchasing behavior of the consumers. They visited various shopping malls in Madurai City and collected the purchasing behavior details of the consumers with various demographic groups such as age, gender, income and so on. The field survey was conducted from 09:00 a.m. to 04:30 p.m. Totally 35 students comprising of II BBA participated in this survey and got benefitted.

SEMINAR ON “CONSUMER EVASION AND PROTECTION OF RIGHTS

“Consumer Evasion and Protection of Rights” – Seminar was conducted on 28.12.2021 by the NSS and IQAC of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science. Selvan. K.Hariharan, II B.Com (B&I) welcomed the gathering.

Principal Dr. R. Sujatha delivered the Presidential Address by sharing her own experience in protecting our rights in consumer evasion. Vice Principal Dr.K.Archunan and Dean – Academics Dr. S. Priya delivered the Felicitation address.

The technical session was handled by Shri. Srinivasan, Advocate, Madurai High Court, Shri. Govindarajan, District Member, ABGP, Dr. Murali Basker, District Member, ABGP and Shri Kulothunga Maniyan, State Secretary, ABGP. The NSS, RRC, YRC and many interested participated in this session. The resource person shared about the consumer evasion and protection of rights in consuming products, food items and even in medicinal items.

The sessions were really an eye-opener to all the participants. Selvan. N. R. Koushik, II B.Com (B&I) proposed the Vote of Thanks. Many faculty members also participated in the session. Totally 204 students and 6 faculty members attended the session.

WORKSHOP ON “SERVER CONFIGURATION USING AWS”

Netkings, an Association of Networking Department organized a two day “Workshop on Server Configuration using AWS” on 27th and 28th December, 2021 for I and II Year Networking students. The session started with the prayer. Welcome address was given by Ms.R.K.Harilakshmi – II Networking. Inaugural address was delivered by our Principal, Dr.R.Sujatha and felicitation address was given by our Vice Principal, Dr.K.Archunan. Dr.S.Priya, Dean Academics delivered special address. Mr.M.Athigopal, Head of the Department, introduced the chief guest. The Resource person of the workshop was Mr.Nantha Kumar Rajasekaran, Founder & CEO of NervyGrid, Madurai. He explained on Cloud Computing and its opportunities in the Cloud Platform. His brief explanation made everyone aware about Cloud industries and AWS-EC2 Computing configuration, SSH using PuTTy Tool with hands on approach. He also focused on today’s industrial needs in the IT sector. He shared his experience as an Entrepreneur. At last he cleared all the queries raised by students. At the end of the session he gave advice on the prospects of the career to every student. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms.E.Ponsakthi,II B.Sc Networking . Finally the program came to an end with the National Anthem. Totally 27 students were benefited through this workshop.

CULFEST 2021

Royal Chartered Association of B.Com (Honours) ACCA organised CULFEST 2021 on 28th December at Audio Video hall, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai. The program started with a prayer. After the prayer we had many events such as Paper presentation, Storytelling, Elocution, Debate, Quiz and Musical Chair. We also had a few cultural events like Dancing, Singing, Antakshari and Dumb Charades. Paper presentation was held on various topics like Crypto Currency, Addiction, Depression, Social Media etc. The storytelling competition was held on various topics like Honesty, Patience, Equality and Hard Work. In the elocution competition topics of problems related to Empowerment of Indian Economy, Brain Drain and Migration of Skilled Labours, etc. were discussed, which helped our students to understand the significance of education and responsibities of its citizens. Students exhibited their talents in the above mentioned events. At the end, Prizes and certificates were given to the winners by Dr. D.Selvaraj, Head Incharge of the Department and Vote of Thanks was given by Mr. A.Raja, Assistant Professor. A total of 45 students participated in this association program.
