Netkings Association

On 27th July 2019, Department of Networking organized “NET KINGS”-ASSOCIATION MEET 2019 for networking students. The session was started with the prayer song. Welcome speech was given by Lakshmipriya – II B.SC Networking. Mr. B.Nagkumar, Managing Director, Devspark, Hyderabad was invited as a chief guest. The Chief Guest briefed the current technologies prevailing in networking field for the students. Mr. M. Athigopal, Head of Department of Networking welcomed the guest and gave an introduction about the Association Meet 2019.

A vote of thanks was delivered by Poornasundaresan II B.SC Networking and the program was successfully completed.

Infotainment 2019

The Department of Networking conducted Infotainment Meet on 18.07.2019. It was organized by III Year B.Sc NETWORKING students. The session was started with the prayer song followed by welcome gathering Mr B. Baskaran of I B.SC NETWORKING. Our Principal Dr.B.Ramamoorthy, inaugurated the meet and Head of the Department Mr.M.Athigopal addressed the gathering.

The students of IInd &  IIIrd year B.Sc.Networking has conducted various game events for the 1st  Year students and rewarded for the winners. The vote of thanks was given by Ms.Poorna Sundaresan of II B.Sc Networking and the meet ended with the National Anthem.

Industrial Visit

B.Sc Networking I and II year students visited the Flextronics Technologies (india) Private Limited, Chennai on 2nd Feb, 2019. In that company, there are two units such as Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) and Special Economic Zone (SEZ). The DTA produce and sell goods for domestic market, SEZ manufactured and export for the international market.The company allowed our student to visit DTA. Our students have acquired knowledge about the assembling of mobile phones namely honor 8c, Redmi, Jio, and its components. They explained about the various stages of assembling the mobiles, and advised the students to wear apron (Safety dress) and Electrostatic Discharge Slippers for the safety purpose. After compilation process, the mobile phone, will go for installation of the software and applications. It will take eight hours for the mobile phone to get ready for use. Each and every step is monitored by the employees. They gave instruction to the students about the manufacturing process given instruction to the students safety and grouped the students into various batches. Each batch session was handled by a technical trainer and a faculty member. They have explained the manufacturing process step by step and clarified the student’s doubts. At the end of session, they have provided an interactive session to the students with their technical team. The program was useful to the students and appreciated by the company.

Extension Activity

From the Department of Networking, seven students and one staff went to government higher secondary school, Parapathi on 28.11.18.

The students  assembled and shifted  the systems in the new computer laboratory. With the help of airblower they cleaned the internal component of the system and checked the hardware and software configuration.

Our students Troubleshooted systems and had done the complete setup of the laboratory for the computer science students. They established the network connection between the systems and performed testing.

It was good exposure for the students  and also hands on experience for their career growth.

CAREER COUNSELLING ON HIGHER STUDIES IN ABROARD

Department of Networking and CS jointly organized Career Guidance programme on 13.10.2018 for III B.Sc Networking, II B.Sc CS (SSS) and III B.Sc CS, students at Seminar Hall. The resource person of this session Mr.A.Aladi Arun, CEO, AK Consultant, Madurai shared various higher studies opportunities in abroad. They are pioneer in assisting students to
study at reputed Universities/Colleges in UK, Australia, New Zealand,
Canada, France, Philippines and Singapore.

Mr.A.Aladi Arun motivated students to write TOFEL & MAT exams to study in abroad. Also he discussed various universities in New Zealand and America, offering course in Cyber Security and Data Science. The session was good career guidance for the students. . Totally 18 networking students get benefited by this program.

CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAM

The Department of CS, IT & Networking conducted a Career Guidance Program for third year students on 10.08.2018 in seminar hall, SLCS. Mr.C.Muhunthaadithyaa, Software Developer Engineer from Amazon Development Center, India was Chief Guest. Dr.P.Saravanan, Principal, SLCS presided over the session. Mr.Athigopal, HoD (i/c) of Networking dept. welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest.

The base line of the program was to help prospective students to prepare for their career and to understand their technical hidden talent by strengthening their knowledge via interaction with the chief guest.

Mr.C.Muhunthaadithya emphasized upon the need and importance of strong basic knowledge in the subjects. He also trained the students to learn the concepts with the real time applications. The students were given sample scenarios and the solutions were discussed. He also gave many valuable suggestions to the students for their technical development.

The students actively participated and clarified their doubts in the domains such as Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Centers, Server Management, Application Programming Interfaces, Open Sources and Amazon Services. They also got clear idea about the roles of Software Engineers, Developers and Database Administrators in IT industries.

The program was very helpful for the students, to shape up their career and to boost up their confidence level. The faculty members of CS, IT & Networking also took part in the session.

ROUTER CONFIGURATION – 2018

On 30/07/18, Department Of Networking has organized “ROUTER CONFIGURATION”.  Students from both second and third year networking have participated in Router Configuration program. The welcome speech address was delivered by A. Sabari Pandian III B.SC Networking. The Inauguration address given by Mr.M.Athigopal,Head of the Department and Felicitation Address given by Dr. K. Archunan, Vice Principal.

  Students from both second and third year Participated in two day Router Configuration workshop program, At last, the session end up with vote of thanks delivered by S. Lakshmi Priya, II B.SC Networking. The session has finally ended by the National Anthem.

TECH-TALK 2018

On 28/07/18, Department Of Networking has organized “TECH-TALK 2018”.  Students from both second and third year networking have participated in Tech-Talk  2K18 program. The welcome speech address was delivered by S. Samaya Manthra II B.SC Networking. The Inauguration address given by Dr. K. Archunan Vice-Principal and Felicitation Address given by Mr. M. Athigopal Head of the Department.

Students from both second and third year presented the papers titled as INTERNET PROTOCOL HACK KEY, WHAT IS YOUR VALUE, TYPES OF WEB, and MUTI WAN.

The vote of thanks was delivered by S. Janani Swetha, II B.SC Networking. The session has finally ended by the National Anthem.

NETKINGS ASSOCIATION MEET

On 17th July 2018, Department of Networking organized “NET KINGS”-ASSOCIATION MEET 2K18 for 2nd and 3rd year students. The session was started with the prayer song. Welcome speech by R. Bharathan III B.SC Networking. Dr. K. Aruchunan, Vice principal, gave an Inaugural Address. Mr. M. Athigopal, Head of Department, Department of Networking gave an introduction about the Association Meet.

Students from second and third year made a presentation on current affairs about “BIT COINS” by K. Lingeswaran, II B.SC Networking and Technical Talk in “DELETE YOURSELF” by J. Nandha Kumar, III B.Sc. Networking. It was about the social media awareness.

The New Secretaries, Mr. J. Nandha kumar [16913] III B.SC Networking and Mr. P. Prasana Kumar [17927] of II B.Sc Networking were selected by our faculty and announce in the gathering.

The program was successfully completed with Vote of Thanks  delivered by S.Pavithra II B.Sc Networking.

BRIDGE COURSE

The Bridge course was conducted for the students of I B.Sc Networking from 02/07/18 to 07/07/18. The students were given basic training on their subjects included in Semester I. The student strength of I B.Sc Networking is 31. The bridge course was conducted for them. The students got the basic knowledge in the subjects such as Applied Mathematics for life, Technical Terms of networking, Basics of Networking devices, Tamil and Basics of Communication skills.

Some students completed their schooling in Tamil medium. Those students were given training in basic grammar such as tenses, active and passive voices, direct and indirect speeches. Also, the training given in Tamil language was useful for the students those who completed their schooling in English medium. The students from non computer science background were given training on how to network with devices. The basic concept of computers such as generations of computers, types of computers, functional units of computers were taught for them. Eventually, the students got basic knowledge in their subjects.

The training reduces the gap between the schooling and college and was useful for the students to get knowledge in their subjects and to know college rules and all.
