On 24th January 2020, Mr.J.S.Dinesh Kumar, an alumnus of the department, interacted with the first year students and shared his experience in the field of IT and Networking. He advised the students to find places to intern during Summer Training with an objective to learn and experience real life problem solving skills.The alumnus was appreciated for his efforts in finding time to share his experience with the students.
The Department of Networking celebrated the birthday of Nethaji Subhash Chandra Bose on 23.01.2020. The program started with a prayer song, Mr.M.Athigopal, Head, Department of Networking welcomed the gathering. Dr.B.Ramamoothy, the Principal, gave a wonderful speech about our national leader Nethaji Subhash Chandra Bose. He also spoke of his early life and political achievements. A few students of B.Sc (Networking) gave speeches about Nethaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The program ended with the National Anthem.
The Departments of Computer Science and of Networking, jointly conducted a Value Added Course on “Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning” for the II Year Computer Science and Networking students from 02.01.2020 to 10.01.2020. Mr.Nanuswamy & Mrs.Naveena Swamy, members of IIT PALS, Chennai and Mr.M.Vignesh, CTO Quantanics, trained the students.
The students were trained in the working principles of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Python Programming. The hands- on sessions were arranged for the students so that they can create projects and products using various AI & ML Algorithms. The students were divided in to 8 Teams under various names and Logos. Practical tasks were assigned by the trainers on a daily basis. All the teams developed products using AI & ML Concepts.
On 10.01.2020, the Valedictory program was organized , wherein the students demonstrated their developed products and explained their work through presentations.
The Department of Networking conducted a Value Added Course “Introduction to Python Programming (MTA)” for the II B.Sc Networking students from 18.12.2019 to 20.12.2019. Senior Trainer, Mr.N.Shaliya, Founder and Managing Director at Zerame Infotech, Chennai, trained the students.
The Departments of Networking and Computer Science jointly organized a Career Guidance programme on 10.12.2019 at the Seminar Hall. The resource person of this session, Mr.R.Vignesh, CTO Quantanics, Madurai, shared the opportunities available in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. CTO Quantanics is a pioneer in the field of Artificial Intelligence in Madurai.
Mr.Nanu Swami, an alumnus of IIT , Chennai demonstrated and provided hands-on training in AI and ML Real–time applications. He, also, discussed the various opportunities available in Cyber Security and Data Science. The career guidance programme was highly beneficial to the students.

As part of their Extension Activity, Five students and one faculty member went to from the Department of Networking, went to K.N Higher Secondary School at Koodakovil on 07.12.19.
The students assembled and shifted the systems in the new computer laboratory and checked the hardware and software configuration. Students demonstrated the computer and its functionality. It was a good exposure for the students and also a hands-on experience for their career growth.
The Department of Networking conducted a Value Added Course “CompTIA Network + Certification Training Programme” for the I BSC Networking students from 18.11.2019 to 25.11.2019. Senior Trainer Mr.Abdu Majeed from Vectra Technosoft Pvt Ltd , Chennai, trained the students. 26 Students got benefited.
The Department of Networking organized a Career Guidance programme on 21.11.2019 for the II year students at the Seminar Hall. Mr.M.Athigopal, HoD, Dept. of Networking introduced the Chief Guest, Mr.Wilber Saloman, IT Dept, Dinamalar. He addressed students on the topic “How to create a Resume based on Job Description?”
The Chief Guest urged students to prepare their resumes based on the Job Description given in Online Job Portals such as Naukri, TimeJobs, and Monster etc. He advised the students to upload their resumes in Online Job Portals as they may receive telephone calls from the Job Portals. This will help the students to get an idea as to, “How to face an interview?” It may also help the students get internship training and placement opportunities. Totally 29 students get benefited by this program.
Department of Networking conducted a course committee meeting on 10.09.2019 at 10.00 a.m. for the students of I year and II year, especially the Advanced & Slow learners.
