Seminar on Cyber Security
On behalf of the Departments of Networking & Computer Science, a Seminar was organized on 29th, January 2020 for the II B.Sc CS (SSS) & II B.Sc Networking students at the Seminar Hall on the topic “Cyber Security”. A.Aarthi, II B.Sc Networking welcomed the gathering. Mrs.N.Anuradha, HoD, Dept. of CS, delivered the special address. Mr.M.Athi Gopal, HoD, Dept. of Networking delivered the felicitation address and introduced the Chief Guest Mr.Sajindas, Operations Manager, G-TECH EDUCATION, Madurai.
The Chief Guest delivered the key note address on Cyber Security. He shared the job opportunities available in cyber security in the IT industry and public sectors. A.Shalini, II .B.Sc CS (SSS) delivered the vote of thanks.
INTERNET CLUB VALEDICTORY FUNCTION
The valedictory function of the Internet Club was organized on 28th January, 2020. The Chief Guest of the valedictory function was Dr.R.Sujatha, Vice Principal, SLCS. The welcome address was given by, Mr. V.Deepan Chakkaravarthy, Instructor, Department of Networking, SLCS. The Function was attended by more than 45 members of the Internet Club. As part of the Club activity a presentation was made by the student Coordinator, Mr.B.Baskaran, II B.Sc Networking. The felicitation address was given by, Dr.S.Priya, Dean-Academics, SLCS. Finally the Internet Club members were oriented with the objectives of club.
ALUMNUS INTERACTION
On 24th January 2020, Mr.J.S.Dinesh Kumar, an alumnus of the department, interacted with the first year students and shared his experience in the field of IT and Networking. He advised the students to find places to intern during Summer Training with an objective to learn and experience real life problem solving skills.The alumnus was appreciated for his efforts in finding time to share his experience with the students.
Birthday Celebration of Nethaji Subhash Chandra Bose
The Department of Networking celebrated the birthday of Nethaji Subhash Chandra Bose on 23.01.2020. The program started with a prayer song, Mr.M.Athigopal, Head, Department of Networking welcomed the gathering. Dr.B.Ramamoothy, the Principal, gave a wonderful speech about our national leader Nethaji Subhash Chandra Bose. He also spoke of his early life and political achievements. A few students of B.Sc (Networking) gave speeches about Nethaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The program ended with the National Anthem.
Value Added Course on Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
The Departments of Computer Science and of Networking, jointly conducted a Value Added Course on “Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning” for the II Year Computer Science and Networking students from 02.01.2020 to 10.01.2020. Mr.Nanuswamy & Mrs.Naveena Swamy, members of IIT PALS, Chennai and Mr.M.Vignesh, CTO Quantanics, trained the students.
The students were trained in the working principles of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Python Programming. The hands- on sessions were arranged for the students so that they can create projects and products using various AI & ML Algorithms. The students were divided in to 8 Teams under various names and Logos. Practical tasks were assigned by the trainers on a daily basis. All the teams developed products using AI & ML Concepts.
On 10.01.2020, the Valedictory program was organized , wherein the students demonstrated their developed products and explained their work through presentations.
Value Added Course – Python Programming (MTA)
The Department of Networking conducted a Value Added Course “Introduction to Python Programming (MTA)” for the II B.Sc Networking students from 18.12.2019 to 20.12.2019. Senior Trainer, Mr.N.Shaliya, Founder and Managing Director at Zerame Infotech, Chennai, trained the students.
Career Guidance
The Departments of Networking and Computer Science jointly organized a Career Guidance programme on 10.12.2019 at the Seminar Hall. The resource person of this session, Mr.R.Vignesh, CTO Quantanics, Madurai, shared the opportunities available in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. CTO Quantanics is a pioneer in the field of Artificial Intelligence in Madurai.
Mr.Nanu Swami, an alumnus of IIT , Chennai demonstrated and provided hands-on training in AI and ML Real–time applications. He, also, discussed the various opportunities available in Cyber Security and Data Science. The career guidance programme was highly beneficial to the students.
