The program commenced with a welcome address by the faculty coordinator, who greeted the freshers and emphasized the importance of academic excellence, discipline, and active participation in departmental activities. Faculty members introduced themselves and briefed the students about the curriculum, learning opportunities, laboratory facilities, certifications, and career prospects in the field of networking and cloud computing. An interactive session was conducted to help the fresher’s become familiar with the department, faculty, and their seniors. The event also included fun ice-breaking activities and games that encouraged students to interact with one another, helping them build confidence and develop a sense of belonging. The seniors shared their experiences, offered guidance on academics and campus life, and motivated the newcomers to make the most of the opportunities available during their course. The session concluded with words of encouragement and best wishes for the students successful academic journey. Totally 15 students of B.Sc. Networking in the 1st year has been participated in happily on 2.7.2026 (Thursday) in F3 Hall.

DEPARTMENT OF NETWORKING(CC) ALUMNI INTERACTION REPORT

 

The Department of Networking conducted an Alumni Interaction Session on 30/06/2026 for the students of I st and 3 rd Year B.Sc Networking. The session featured our alumnus Mr.P.Prasanna Kumar B.Sc Networking (2017–2020 batch), who is currently working as a freelancer for Bizcollab 360 Madurai, as the chief guest. During the interaction, he shared his academic experiences, higher studies opportunities, and valuable guidance for building a successful career in the field of IT Companies. The students actively participated in the session by raising various queries related to higher education and career prospects. The interaction was informative and motivating for the participants. A total of 44 students attended and benefited
from the session.

The Department of Networking organized a MIME Competition for the 30th Annual Day celebration on the college premises. Mrs. N.P. Rajeswari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Networking, addressed the gathering. Every student eagerly participated and showcased their talents in this event. The judges awarded marks based on the students’ performances. Finally, three teams were selected for this competition, and they will receive their prizes at the annual day celebration. The NetKings Association and the Department of Networking culminated in a discussion on Women’s Day celebrations in Tamil Nadu, held on March 8, 2024. Ms. Akshaya, I-B.Sc. networking, extended the welcome address, followed by active student participation from the Networking department. Mrs. N.P. Rajeswari, Assistant Professor of the Department of Networking, elucidated on various pertinent themes including Championing Women in STEM, Breaking Gender Stereotypes, Empowering Girls and Women through Education, Celebrating Everyday Women as Unsung Heroes, and Envisioning a Future of Equality. Concluding the event, Mr. Yoga madhankumar, I-B.Sc. Networking, proposed a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the management for their unwavering support in organizing this significant occasion.

The Department of Networking organized a session on January 12, 2024, titled “How to Celebrate the Pongal Festival in Tamil Nadu”. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Arish. P, a II B.Sc. Networking student. The event witnessed active participation from students of the Networking department. Mrs. N.P. Rajeswari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Networking, addressed the gathering.

In her speech, Mrs. Rajeswari elucidated on the traditions associated with Bhogi and Pongal. On this day, people engage in lighting bonfires symbolizing the eradication of negativity and the commencement of new beginnings. Homes are meticulously cleaned, adorned with flowers, lights, and Kolam. Additionally, a special Pongal dish, prepared with freshly harvested rice, jaggery, and milk. The festival spans four days, named Bhogi, Surya, Mattu/Maatu, and Kannum/Kaanum.

Concluding the session, Ms. Charshika, a II B.Sc. Networking student, extended a vote of thanks. She expressed gratitude to the management for their unwavering support in organizing the event. The informative session provided valuable insights into the rich cultural celebrations of Pongal in Tamil Nadu.

The Department of Networking organized an Alumni Interaction Session for 1st-year Networking students on 12.10.2023. Our alumnus, G. HarishKumaran (2019-2022 batch), emphasized the importance of different types of Internet Protocol addresses and their relevance to networking technologies. He encouraged the students to pursue higher studies, highlighting the emerging trends in the networking field. He shared innovative thoughts with the students. Brief about Expert/Speaker:         Dr. V. Karpagam is currently serving as the Professor and Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence Data Science at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore. With 25 years of academic experience, she completed her Ph.D. in the field of Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, in 2014. She earned her Master’s degree in Software Engineering from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore, in 2008 and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore, in 1996. Dr. Karpagam is a recognized Anna University Supervisor and is currently guiding five scholars in the domains of Artificial Intelligence, Medical Image Processing, and Cyber Security. Her research and teaching interests encompass Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Database Technologies, Cyber Security, and Health Analytics.
Objectives of the activity:  To acquire a foundational understanding of the techniques and tools essential for training a deep learning model. To gain practical experience with common deep learning data types and model architectures. To improve model accuracy by enhancing datasets through data augmentation.  To efficiently achieve results with less data and computation by leveraging transfer learning between models. To instill confidence in participants to undertake their own projects using modern deep learning frameworks.

On September 14, 2023, Mrs. N.P. Rajeswari, from the Department of Networking, along with a team of twenty students from the Networking Department, conducted an Extension Activity (SLCS Samaj Seva) for the students of De-Nobile Matriculation Higher Secondary School in K. Pudhur. The objective of this activity was to provide valuable information to the school students on several relevant topics. The discussion revolved around IoT, describing how it represents the network of physical objects embedded with sensors, software, and other technologies. These objects connect and exchange data with other devices and systems over the internet. Students were introduced to the concept of cloud computing, emphasizing how it enables businesses to harness the vast amount of data generated by IoT. The students were educated on ethical hacking, which involves using the same tools, tricks, and techniques that malicious hackers employ but with the permission of authorized individuals or organizations. A basic understanding of software piracy was provided. Software piracy was defined as the illegal use, copying, modification, distribution, sharing, or sale of computer software protected by copyright laws. The discussion clarified that anyone who intentionally or unintentionally commits these illegal acts can be considered a software pirate, and hacking skills are not required for such activities. This Extension Activity aimed to provide foundational knowledge to the school students in these areas, helping them to grasp essential concepts and principles. A total of 50 students from De-Nobile Matriculation Higher Secondary School benefited from this extension activity. It served as an opportunity for them to gain insights into emerging technologies and ethical considerations related to the digital world. The engagement and participation of both the organizing team from our college and the enthusiastic school students made this initiative a success.

The Department of Networking celebrated National Teacher’s Day on September 09, 2023. Mr. SUDHARSAN K K, II-B.Sc. Networking, delivered the welcome address. The students from the Networking department participated in the session, and Mr. G.Kumaran, HOD/Assistant Professor, Department of Networking, addressed the gathering. In this speech, he explained how to commemorate Teacher’s Day in 2023. We celebrate it on September 5 to mark the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Teachers’ Day celebrates teachers and teacher figures in our lives. It is an occasion to show your appreciation for the impact they have had in your life or their valuable contributions to a particular field or community. Each and Every II year Students eagerly participated in this celebration as well as everyone was share their memorable moments on their school life through this session. Finally, Mrs. N.P. Rajeswari, Assistant Professor, Department of Networking, proposed a vote of thanks and thanked the management for their support in organising the event.
