The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management have organized the Bodhi class on  23.8.2017 for I,II & III year students participated and Head of the Department, all other staff members discussed the points regarding  the students academic achievements, student deficiencies related to course with remedial actions, Identification of slow learners. We have planned to find solution for all the deficiencies and steps have taken be resolve the crisis of the students. The need and requirement have identified for the slow learners and regular test will be given for them.

The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management was organized Part time Job for the students of II MCHM. (Earning while studying concept) at PHIL BISTRO Restaurant , K.K. Nagar, Madurai. The Managers Conducted personal interview on 19.8.2017 at 10.00 a.m., ten students was interested and attended interview. Four students have got selected in the interview for part time job. This helps the students to gain practical knowledge in Food & Service and food production department.

The department of Marine Catering and hotel Management has organized Training in Methods of Cooking and serving for the staff working in the canteen and Mess staff on 14.08.2017. Workers have learnt their skills on the job. Training generally starts with basic sanitation and workplace safety regulations and continues with instruction on food handling, preparation, and cooking procedures

The department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management has organized a one day industrial visit to  Hotel Taj , Pasumalai – Madurai on 7.8.2017. 1^st year students along with three faculty members (Mrs. G.S.Subbulakshmi , Mr. Maheshkumar and Mr.Jacob Jebaraj) participated in the Industrial Visit. Mr. Moses Jebaraj, Training Manager and Mr. Premkumar, Human Resource Manager gave a speech on career growth in the hospitality industry.

The department of Marine Catering and hotel Management has organized Training in Food safety and Hygiene for the staff working in the canteen and Mess staff on 30.07.2017. We have provided safe working environment training to the workers make sure to understand the principles of basic food safety and how to apply knowledge to control hazards and prevent food poisoning.

The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management have organized Career Counseling Program on 29.7.2017. All the third year students of various discipline participated in this career counseling programme. Mr. Sandip Chothe,Training Manager, Fleet Management, Mumbai was the resource person. Dr. P. Saravanan, Principal, gave welcome address. and Mr.K. Archunan, Vice Principal gave the Vote of Thanks, Mr.C.Sureshkumar, Head, Dept of MCHM, was the Programme Co-ordinator.

The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management have organized the Faculty Development Programme for various  department staffs in our college campus on 29.7.2017 at 3.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. Dr. P. Saravanan, Principal, gave the welcome speech.  The Resource Person (Chief Guest) was Mr. Sandip chothe, Training Manager, Fleet Management,Mumbai. Mr. C. Sureshkumar, Head, Dept of MCHM was the Programme Co-ordinator addressed all the faculty members and he expressed the aim of organizing this programme for the faculty members. Mr. Sandip Chothe explained the various aspects of teaching and learning process.

The department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management has organized a intra – departmental cookery competition “Fancy de cookies” on 27.7.2017. Head of the Department and faculty members judge the performance of the students and awarded marks. Winners were

The Department of Marine catering and Hotel Management  conducted two days SEMINAR on the topic of  “TO THE TABLE  ” from 26.07.2017 – to 27.07.2017. Dr.P.Saravanan , PRINCIPAL – SLCS as Chief Guest and inaugurated the Seminar ,  Mr.C.Suresh kumar, HOD gave an inspirational speech, Mr. Rishikeshkumar, III year student gave the vote of thanks. The students of second and third year had taken the seminar on various Food and Beverage service related topics.
