ZEAL Association of the Department of BBA along with the Institution’s Innovation Council – SLCS, conducted an Exposure Visit to Understand Innovative Strategies adopted at Kothari Sugars and Chemicals Limited, Kattur, Lalgudi Taluk, Trichirappalli District on 15.02.2023. Mr. V. Ramachandran, Senior Manager – Technical, Kothari Sugars and Chemicals Limited, acted as a guide. He explained the various steps including crushing, extraction of juice, clarification, evaporation, crystallization, centrifugation and refining involved in the process. He explained that through innovative double refining methods, they get clear crystals of sugar with premium quality. In total, 2 Students from II BBA and 38 Students from I BBA eagerly participated in the program.
Seminar on “Budget Talk”
ZEAL Association of Department of BBA organized a Seminar on “Budget Talk” on 13.02.2023 at Seminar Hall. Dr. Wajahat Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Thiagaraja School of Management, was the guest speaker. The guest explained the salient features of Union Budget, which was presented in the Parliament by Finance Minister, Smt. Nirmala Seetharaman, for the financial year 2023 – 2024. In total, 9 students of I BBA and 8 students of II BBA presented papers on budget of different sectors of India. Totally, 70 students of BBA attended the seminar. Through this lecture, the students gained an exposure on Union Budget.
Seminar on “Benefits of Ayurvedic Treatment”
Consumer Awareness Club & Department of BBA conducted a Seminar on “Benefits of Ayurvedic Treatment” on 08.02.2023. Dr. Sindhana, B.A.M.S, Medical Officer, AVN Arogya Ayurvedic Centre acted as the guest speaker. The students of Consumer Club and II BBA attended this program. Dr. Sindhana explained the source of Ayurveda in India and the various factors that help in Ayurveda. She briefed on the various benefits of Ayurvedic treatment such as absence of side effects, healing the root cause and cost effectiveness. The queries raised by the participants were clarified by the speaker. This activity was organized by Dr. B. Meenakshi Sundaram, Assistant Professor, BBA & Coordinator, Consumer Awareness Club. In total, 10 students of consumer Club and 29 Students of II BBA eagerly participated in the activity.
“Innovation & Entrepreneurship Outreach Program in Schools”
ZEAL Association of the Department of BBA along with the Institution’s Innovation Council – SLCS, conducted an outreach program “Innovation & Entrepreneurship” in Mahatma Montessori School – BABA – CBSE on 31.01.2023. Dr. Kumaran Thayumanavan, HOD, Department of BBA and Dr. B. Meenakshi Sundaram, Convener – SLCS IIC, were the speakers. The program was divided into two sessions. The first session was handled by Dr. Kumaran Thayumanavan. He explained the nature and key role of entrepreneurship in developing the Indian Economy. The second session was addressed by Dr. B. Meenakshi Sundaram. He dealt with the role of Innovation in developing entrepreneurship. In total, 3 Students from II BBA and 2 Students from I BBA assisted the event. Totally, 205 school students and 14 Teachers from Mahatma Montessori School eagerly participated in the program.
Awareness on Human Trafficking – Observing “National Human Trafficking Day”
ZEAL Association, Department of BBA, organized a SLCS Samaaj Seva – Outreach Activity observing “National Human Trafficking Day” on 31.01.2023 at Mahathma Montessori School, Madurai, to educate the school students on human trafficking. The Students of BBA exhibited the problems and causes of human trafficking with videos. They also promoted the use of “KAAVALAN” app which was introduced by Government of Tamilnadu to protect oneself from trafficking. The whole promotional drive was quite inspiring and the activity motivated the school students. Our students were appreciated by the management and teachers of Mahathma Montessori School. Around 205 students from school along with 14 teachers participated in the activity. In total, 3 students from II BBA and 2 Students of I BBA eagerly participated in the program.
“Leadership Talk with Prof. T. G. Sitharam, Chairman AICTE”
The Ministry of Education organized a session “Leadership Talk with Prof. T.G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE ” on 30.01.2023. The program was organized by SLCS – Institution’s Innovation Council as live stream through YOUTUBE Platform. Prof. T.G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE, was interviewed by Mr. Abhay Jere, Chief Innovation Officer, Ministry of Education. The interview was conducted to provide an insight to all participants to develop India through Innovation and Research. It also helped to obtain knowledge on the activities carried on by the IIC in developing Higher Education Institutions. The participants understood the key attributes for the development of research and funding support from AICTE in developing our institutions. Totally, 51 students and 25 Faculty Members from various departments eagerly participated in the program.
Awareness on Consumer Rights Observing “National Consumer Day”
Consumer Awareness Club & Department of BBA conducted an activity- Awareness on Consumer Rights Observing “National Consumer Day” on 27.01.2023. The students of Consumer Club and BBA visited Thiruparankundram, Village, which is 12 km away from the college. They briefed on the various rights of the consumer such as Right to safety, Right to be informed, Right to choose, Right to be heard, Right to consumer redressal and Right to consumer education. They also raised slogans through rally promoting the importance of consumer rights. The people from the Thiruparankumdram village appreciated the students for their promotional work. This activity was lead by Mr. B. Vairamuthu, Assistant Professor, BBA. In total, 8 students of consumer Club and 26 Students of II BBA eagerly participated in the activity.
Awareness on Voting Rights – Observing “National Voters Day”
ZEAL Association, Department of BBA, organized a SLCS Samaaj Seva – Outreach Activity Awareness on Voting Rights Observing “National Voters Day” on 27.01.2023, to educate and promote voting rights among the public at Thiruparankundram village, Madurai. Students briefed on the importance of the voting rights. The people of the village were instructed the importance of voting in establishing democracy and fundamental rights of our country. The whole promotional drive was quite inspiring and the activity motivated the public in understanding the responsibilities as an Indian citizen. Our students were appreciated by the village members for promoting such an activity. Totally, 27 students from II BBA eagerly participated in the program.
“Exposure Visit to Incubation Centre – EDII Periyakulam Horti Business Incubation Forum”) On 19.01.2023
ZEAL Association of the Department of BBA, along with the Institution’s Innovation Council– SLCS, conducted an Exposure Visit to Incubation Centre – EDII Periyakulam Horti Business Incubation Forum” on 19.01.2023. Mr. Vasanthan Selvan, Chief Executive Officer, EDII Periyakulam Horti Business Incubation Forum, was the speaker. The program started as an exposure visit and the speaker explained the process of developing a business plan, launching and running a business to meet customer needs and make profit in agri-business. Through the incubation forum, he explained the various types of agri-entrepreneurship and the process of incubation in making farms, nurseries, organic farming, and herbal and medicinal plants. Totally, 50 students from I BBA, 20 students from II BBA, 11 students from II B.Sc. FSPM and 6 students from I B.Sc. FSPM eagerly participated in the program.
Cleanliness and Awareness Campaigns at Sothuparai Dam, Periyakulam, Theni on 19.01.2023
ZEAL Association, Department of BBA, organized a cleanliness and awareness campaign on 19th January, 2023 to educate and promote civic sense among the public at the Sothuparai Dam, situated at the foothills of the Western Ghats in Periyakulam, Theni. Students went to all the areas and were briefed on the importance of the cleanliness of the dam. The public was advised not to throw paper plates, water bottles, paper cups, tissues, and many other unwanted things on lawns, gardens, sitting areas, corridors, pathways, and other open areas that are unhygienic for all of us. They were also informed to make the dam a beautiful place for one and it makes individuals healthier when the environment around them is healthy. Students enthusiastically collected plastic waste, tea cups, weeds, and dry leaves spread over the surrounding areas. The volunteers gathered all of the waste and trash bags and transported them to the location designated by the representatives. The whole cleaning drive was quite inspiring and motivating for the students. Totally, 50 students from I BBA and 20 students from II BBA eagerly participated in the program.
