ZEAL Association, Department of BBA along with the Institution’s Innovation Council – SLCS, organized “Exposure Visit to Incubation Centre – PSNA College of Engineering and Technology – Dindigul” on 17.04.2023.  Dr. Vincent, Convener, Institution Innovation Council, PSNA College of Engineering and Technology, welcomed our students. The students visited incubation centers of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electronic and Communication Engineering, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Lab. They had an exposure on establishing incubation center with innovative ideas and also had idea of converting incubation into a successful business model. In total, 3 Students from II BBA and 49 Students from I BBA participated in the exposure visit.  Dr. B. Meenakshi Sundaram, Assistant Professor, Department of BBA, assisted students for this visit.

On 17.04.2023, ZEAL Association of the Department of BBA organized an Industrial Visit to Palmar Spinning Mills, Sempatti, Dindigul.  This company deals with spinning of threads from Cotton and Polyester. The purpose of this visit is to learn the process of production and logistics in textile industry. They have sophisticated automated machines with the state of art technology for production process. They have blow room machine, carding machine, draw frame, lap former, comber, roving frame, spinning frame and winding frame. A dedicated team of 600 employees engaged in different shifts. Our students learnt the process of cleaning, combing, roving process, spinning process and also stacking of materials in warehouses.  They got aware of the equipments and machineries used in the above process.
In total, 49 students from I BBA and 3 students of II BBA were benefited through this visit.

ZEAL Association, Department of BBA along with the Institution’s Innovation Council – SLCS, conducted a seminar on “Basic Traits of Entrepreneurship in the Current Business Era” on 16.04.2023. Mr. J. S. Dhilip Chandran, Product Negotiation Specialist, Corporate Vendor Management Services and Mr. R. Saravana Kumar, Managing Director, Sentersoft Technologies, Virudhunagar, were the speakers. The first session was handled by Mr. J. S. Dhilip Chandran. He explained the nature and key role of entrepreneurship and also the details regarding the traits and skills required for an entrepreneur. The second session was addressed by Mr. R. Saravana Kumar. He discussed on the role of Innovation and Digital transformation in developing entrepreneurship. In total, 6 Students from II BBA and 36 Students from I BBA took part in the event. In addition to this, 10 HSC students along with their parents eagerly participated and got benefitted through this program.

ZEAL Association, Department of BBA, organized an Outreach Activity on “Promoting Health from Climate Change” Observing “World Health Day” on 12.04.2023 at Kalikapann, Sivagangai Road, Madurai. The theme line of WHO (World Health Organization) “Protecting Health from Climate Change” towards World Health Day was explained to the people of that village. Students of I and II BBA promoted the importance of maintaining health. They also raised slogans and displayed posters for promoting health. Totally, 40 students from I BBA and 4 students from II BBA eagerly participated in the program.

ZEAL Association, Department of BBA, organized an Awareness campaign on “Save Water Observing World Water Day” on 28.03.2023 at Dindigul Road, Natham. Students of I BBA and II BBA promoted the importance of saving water. They also conducted a rally by creating awareness on water conservation and management of fresh water. The theme behind this program is to adopt various techniques to save clean and pure water for future by following various effective measures. They raised slogans on managing freshwater as a sustainable resource to protect life by meeting all the water demands. Totally, 21 students from I BBA and 10 students from II BBA eagerly participated in the program.

ZEAL Association, Department of BBA, conducted a Skill Development Activity for I BBA students on 25.03.2023 at AV Room of Annex Building, RLINS. The program was presided over by Dr. Kumaran Thayumanavan, HoD, Department of BBA. The purpose of this program is to bring out the skills and talents of the students. The students exhibited their skills on Paper Presentation, Business Quiz, Group Songs, and Aptitude Test. The skill development program was supported by I BBA Students. Totally, 53 students of I BBA and four faculty members participated in the program.

The Parents Teachers Meeting started at 02.30 pm and the following points were discussed:

Dr. Kumaran Thayumanavan, HOD, inaugurated the meeting and Mr. B. Variamuthu, Assistant Professor, welcomed the students and their parents.

Dr. Kumaran Thayumanavan presented the details of various activities conducted by the Department in the past 9 months. Parents appreciated the faculties of the department for their tireless work. The performance of the students in CIA- I along with the percentage of attendance as on February 2023 was informed to the parents. Parents were intimated of the students with poor attendance with a prior warning.

In total, 53 students of I BBA along with their parents and guardians attended the meeting.  Some parents requested to send them the information of the college bus departure time delay, while returning from the college. Some parents represented to improve the quality of food in the canteen. Most of the parents requested to change the morning time of the college, as they feel difficulty in preparing food for their wards. Feedbacks were collected from all parents and the meeting came to an end at 04.30 pm.

Consumer Awareness Club & Department of BBA participated in a Seminar on “World Consumer Rights Day” on 18.03.2023. The members of Consumer Club and Department of BBA participated in this seminar. Dr. C. Packialakshmi, Founder & Managing Director, Women Consumer Protection Association, Madurai, organized this program. Mr. S.J. Charkravarthy, President, District Consumer Commission, Thiruvarur, and             Mrs. M. Murugaselvi, Consumer Protection Officer, Madurai Collectorate, acted as thechair persons. They briefed on 8 rights of the consumer as given below;

1. Right to safety
2. Right to basic needs
3. Right to choose
4. Right to information
5. Right to representation
6. Right to seek redresal,
7. Right to healthy environment and
8. Right to consumer education.

They explained the procedures to approach Consumer Redresal Forum for consumer exploitation. This program was coordinated by Dr. B. Meenakshi Sundaram, Consumer Club Coordinator. In total, 3 members of consumer Club and 16 students of I BBA and 9 Students of II BBA eagerly participated in the activity.

ZEAL Association, Department of BBA, participated in the ‘EXPORT SUMMIT 2023’ at Agro Food Trade Centre, Madurai, on 11.03.2023, as a part of MoU with Export Promotion Council. Our student learnt the bilateral trade between India and El Salvador, Peru, Canada and Indonesia. Mr. S. Rethinavelu, Chairman of Agro Food Trade Centre Export, informed the audience at the inauguration session that Export was a stable & sustainable business.   He said that the state government is planning to increase the export of processed fruits and vegetables. At present, only 2% of the fruits and vegetables are exported, which, if increased to 10%, would be a big revenue boost. Mr. Javier Manuel Paulinich, Ambassador for Peru to India informed that textiles and apparel are on top followed by food and beverages. Mr. Guillermo Rubio Funes, Ambassador of El Salvador to India, said that there are many opportunities for students to become entrepreneurs.  Panel discussions by various experts were held under various topics, which included the state government initiative to transform Madurai as an export hub, bilateral trade, etc. They said that in export the most important thing is product selection and problem identification.  In this seminar, students got more information and new ideas on the bilateral trade & export formats. Totally, 17 BBA students and two faculty members attended this program.

On 10.03.2023, ZEAL Association, Department of BBA, organized an Industrial visit to Atlas Exports Enterprises, Textile Park, Karur.  This company exports textile materials to around 50 different countries. The purpose of this visit is to learn the process of production and logistics in textile industry. They have sophisticated automated machines with the state of the art technology for production process. They have waving & cut to pack system, helped by a dedicated team of 1700 employees engaged in different shifts. Our students learnt the process of weaving, sewing, quilting and stitching and also stacking of materials in warehouses.  They got aware of the equipments and machineries used in the above process. Totally, 33 students from I BBA were benefited by this factory visit.
