A Career Counseling Programme on “Career Pathways in Air Cargo Management” was organized on 30 January 2026 in online mode for the students of BBA. The session aimed to provide students with an understanding of emerging opportunities, skill requirements, and career growth in the air cargo and aviation logistics sector. A total of 103 students participated in the programme, which featured Mr. S. Abinesh, Sales Executive, ICILINK Pvt. Ltd., as the resource person. Through his industry insights and real-time examples, students gained valuable exposure to air cargo operations, documentation processes, and the professional pathways available in the field. This programme served as an enriching guidance platform, helping students align their interests with potential career prospects in the aviation logistics industry.
Career Development Programme on “Career Opportunities in the Export & Import Industry,”
A group of 40 students from the BBA (Logistics & Shipping Management) programme participated in the Career Development Programme on “Career Opportunities in the Export & Import Industry,” organized by the Export Promotion Centre (EPC) on 13 September 2025 at Hatsun Hall, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Madurai. The full-day programme, held from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, provided students with valuable insights into export–import procedures, international trade documentation, global market opportunities, and emerging career pathways in the logistics and foreign trade sectors. Through expert sessions and industry interactions, students gained enhanced awareness of professional prospects and practical knowledge related to global commerce. This initiative significantly contributed to strengthening their understanding of international business and career readiness.
Industrial Visit to Singai Coir’s Cluster Pvt. Ltd., Singampunari
An Industrial Visit to Singai Coir’s Cluster Pvt. Ltd., Singampunari, was organized on 24 October 2025 for the II BBA students to provide practical exposure to coir-based manufacturing and rural industry operations. The objective of the visit was to help students understand the processes involved in coir production, value-addition techniques, quality management, and the role of rural industries in supporting the supply chain and local economic development. A total of 44 students participated and interacted with industry professionals, gaining valuable insights into production workflows and logistics activities associated with the coir sector. This visit enriched their practical knowledge and strengthened their understanding of industry-oriented learning.
Industrial Visit to the Madurai Agribusiness Incubation Forum
An Industrial Visit to the Madurai Agribusiness Incubation Forum was organized on 24 October 2025 for the II BBA students to provide experiential learning in agribusiness development and entrepreneurship. The visit aimed to expose students to the functioning of agribusiness incubation, innovative farming practices, startup support systems, and value-addition processes within the agricultural sector. A total of 44 students participated and interacted with industry experts, gaining valuable insights into emerging opportunities in agribusiness and its linkage with logistics and supply chain activities. This visit enhanced their practical understanding and encouraged an entrepreneurial outlook among the students.
Industrial Visit to Terminal Pvt. Ltd., Tuticorin
An Industrial Visit to Terminal Pvt. Ltd., Tuticorin, was organized on 11 October 2025 for the I BBA students to provide hands-on exposure to real-time logistics operations. The visit aimed to familiarize students with terminal functions, cargo handling procedures, and various logistics activities involved in port operations. A total of 59 students actively participated and gained practical insights into the functioning of the logistics and shipping sector. This learning experience enriched their academic understanding and helped them connect classroom concepts with industry practices.
National Logistics Day
The III BBA students observed National Logistics Day on 28 June 2025 by visiting the SIDCO Industrial Estate, Madurai, as part of an industry-focused outreach activity. The objective of this visit was to enable students to interact with various company representatives, express gratitude for their contributions to the logistics sector, and gain firsthand exposure to the role of logistics and supply chain operations in industrial growth. During the visit, students engaged with multiple industry professionals, deepening their understanding of logistics processes, career opportunities, and the sector’s significance in national economic development. A total of 36 students participated in this meaningful initiative, which provided valuable real-world learning and strengthened industry–academia interaction.
Outreach Activity
An Outreach Activity on “Awareness and Prevention of Avian Influenza (H5N1)” was conducted on 16 February 2026 at Thiruparankundram, Madurai. The II BBA students actively participated in this initiative with the objective of creating awareness among the local community about the symptoms, modes of transmission, and preventive measures related to Avian Influenza. A total of 36 students engaged with the residents of the area, sharing essential health and safety information and contributing meaningfully to promoting public health and community well-being.
CUENTAS ASSOCIATION
The Cuentas Association of the Department of Commerce B.Com. (Banking and Insurance) successfully hosted an engaging and informative activity on December 6, 2024. The event featured an interactive session titled “Connection,” meticulously organized by Ms. A. Swathi and Ms. G. K. Keerthiga of III B.Com. (Banking and Insurance). This activity cultivated creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills among the students.
In conclusion, the association activity provided a superlative platform for students to demonstrate their capabilities, enrich their understanding, and foster meaningful and collaborative engagement with their peers.
Workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) and IP Management for Start Up”
ZEAL Association, Department of BBA along with the Institution’s Innovation Council – SLCS, organized a “Workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) and IP Management for Start-Up” on 02.05.2023. Dr. K. S. Karthik Babu, Assistant Professor, R L Institute of Management Studies, Madurai has been invited as the guest speaker. The chiefguest elaborated the concept of Intellectual Property Rights and the objective for developing IPR. He further discussed the various types of IPR such as Patent Rights, Copyrights, Trade Marks, Trade Secret and also about Geographical Indications and its applications. He also provided numerous examples from the market with respect to Intellectual Property Rights. In total, 26 Students from II BBA and 54 Students from I BBA participated in the exposure visit.

Honouring workers and labourers observing “International Labour Day”
ZEAL Association, Department of BBA, organized an outreach activity as a part of SLCS Samaaj Seva – Outreach Activity – Honouring workers and labours Observing “International Labour Day” on 01.05.2023 at Vaigai Reservoir Dam, Theni District. The purpose of this visit is to honour labourers and workers on this day. The students carried banners and posters to raise awareness on the rights of working people and to protect them from exploitation. This activity also served as a reminder for the important role played by the working class to the society. In total, 24 students from II BBA actively participated in the program.
