The Dinamalar and Chennai Institutes of Technology was conducted the live program “ Ungalal Mudiyum” on 01.6.2018 at Chennai. .The MC&HM HOD has participated as a resource person for that program.This programme was fully focused and to create awareness to the public about the Catering course. Sharing of information has taken place between the host – spectators and guest about the importance of the Catering Technology. Both discussed face to face to ensure viewers to get clear instruction about the value of Catering.
Orientation Program on Behavior Management and Counseling
SLCS with intention of amplifying the skills of its faculty members conducted yet another Faculty Development Program , “An Orientation Program on Behavior Management and Counseling” for the teaching staff of both SLCS & RLIMS on 06.05.2018 at the Seminar Hall.
The session was jointly handled by experts Dr.M.Kannan, Research Director, M.S.C.I.M.H. and Rehabilitation and Dr.Guru Bharathy , Principal , M.S.C.I.M.H. and Rehabilitation.
Dr.R.L.Ramnath , Advisor, IQAC warmly welcomed the dignitaries and the faculty members. Dr.P.Saravanan, Principal , SLCS, gave the presidential address. In his address he spoke of the immense service of Chellamuthu Trust to society.
The program was divided in to two sessions, with the first session taken by Dr.M.Kannan on “Behavior Management” .The session concluded with a Psychometric Assessment Test. The second session was handled by Dr. Guru Bharathy . He discussed and expounded student behavior with the help of interesting activities.
The program greatly benefitted the faculty members who are keen on participating in more such programs.
Mrs.K.P.Maheswari , Assistant Professor , Dept. of CS & IT proposed the vote of thanks and thanked the resource persons for not only enlightening the faculty members but also for conducting it in a lively and interesting manner.
21st Graduation Day
Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science and R L Institute of Management Studies, Madurai organized its 21st Graduation Day Dr.P.Saravanan, Principal, welcomed the gathering. Mr.Kannan Ganesh, Executive Director & Chief Financial Officer, CMA CMG Shared Service Center, (India) Pvt. Ltd. was the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest emphasized that with Self-confidence we can succeed. He further said that it is important to identify one’s skills and build a strong academic foundation.
In his Presidential Address, Dr.R.Lakshmipathy, President of the college said that a Degree Certificate is not just a piece of paper but an educational qualification that gets you respect. He continued by adding that education is a powerful tool that develops a country, eradicates poverty and brings about gender Equality. He also emphasized that learning is a never ending process.

24th Annual Day
The 24th Annual Day of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science & RL Institute of Management Studies was celebrated on 24th February 2018 at the College Auditorium in a grand manner. The Chief Guest of the Function was Mr.Shanmugam, Deputy General Manager, Canara Bank. The welcome address was given by the Mrs.Suganthi Hepzibha, Asst. Professor, English.
Our College President, Dr.R.Lakshmipathy presided over the function and gave an eloquent presidential address about the College growth & Autonomy.
Mr. Abraham Pradeep, Asst. Professor, RLIMS explained the new software, Student Loan Management System developed by Software Team of SLF. The reading of messages from various institutions was given by Dr.K. Navarathinam, Deputy Director (Admission), RLIMS.
Dr.P.Saravanan, Principal SLCS presented the Annual report of the college for the Academic Year 2017- 18. Dr.S.Pugalanthi, Deputy Director RLIMS presented the annual report of RLIMS for the year 2017-18.

The Chief Guest Mr.Shanmugam explained about the Career Opportunities in Banking Sector & advised the students to utilize the wonderful facilities available in SLCS & RLIMS. The Prizes were distributed by the Chief Guest to the students for Proficiency in academics, various competitions and best outgoing students for both Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science and RL Institute of Management Studies.

Madurai, 23rd Sports Day of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science and RL Institute of Management studies was held on Saturday, Feb 10, 2018. Dr. O. Ravi, Controller of Examinations, Madurai Kamaraj University delivered the Chief Guest Address and Distributed the Prizes for the winners of Athletic and Team events. Principal P.Saravanan Presided the event, Vice Principal Dr. K.Archunan and Deputy Director Dr.S.Pugalenthi delivered Felicitation. Physical Director Mr. P.Thangamuthu read out the Annual Sports report. The Challengers team won the overall championship in the intramural sports meet.
QMS – Internal Auditor Training Programme
The RL Institute of Nautical Science conducted Two days QMS – Internal Auditor Training Program on 8th and 9th January,2018.
The faculty members from RL Institute of Nautical Science(RLINS), Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science(SLCS), RL Institute of Management Studies(RLIMS), Krishnamal Ramasubbaiyer School (KRS) and Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy Foundation(SLF) participated.
Mr.G.M.Ravi Kumar, Lead Assessor from IR Class was the trainer. The session started with the felicitation address by Mr.R.Muthukrishnan – Principal, RLINS. Mr.M.Subramanian – Technical Advisor, RLINS introduced the trainer.
The trainer,Mr.G.M.Ravi Kumar explained about the ISO 9001:2015 standard, QMS process and Internal auditing procedures with many real time scenarios along with his experience. The participants were trained with the group activities and they have also undergone examination as a part of the training programme.
At the end of the session, Mrs.M.Shanthy – Principal, KRS shared her training experience and thanked the organizing committee and the management.
Outdoor catering
Our department has organized the outdoor catering programe in various hotels in Madurai on 31.12.2017 for I, & II year students. 18 students in Heritage Hotel and 3 students in Pandian Hotel. Total 21 Students are participated and learn many of the techniques followed in the hotel operation. And it’s more helpful to the students to get placement in which department they want.

An Export Summit was organized at Madurai Chamber of Commerce on 16.12.2017. 10 eminent and distinguished personalities participated as resource persons & delivered lectures. The program was a great learning experience for students of BBA department.
20th Graduation Day
Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathi College of Science and R L Institute of Management Studies, Madurai Organized its 20th Graduation Day on 16th September 2017. Dr.P.Saravanan, Principal welcomed the gathering. Dr.N.Kamakodi, MD & CEO, City Union Bank was the Chief Guest. In his speech, he mentioned that the job oriented courses offered by the college would immediately provide job to the students. He emphasized to the students, that education and sincerity would help the industry grow which in turn would develop the country. Dr.R.Lakshmipathy, President of the college said that today lot of graduates are not employed, hence this college offers only job oriented courses with the faculty giving individual care and hands on training. He urged the students to take into consideration Digital India’s growth and fine tune themselves. Diabetes Awareness Programme
Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science and Thangamayil Jewellery organized a Diabetes Awareness programme with Dr.V.Palanikumaran MD., D.Diab (MMC) for the faculty members at the college premises on 09.09.2017 at 3.00 pm. The programme was presided by Principal of SLCS, Dr.P.Saravanan and the Chief Organizing Officer of Thangamayil Jewellery Mr.V.Vishvaa Narayan.
The principal, in his speech mentioned the importance of Diabetes Awareness and also gave a simple but effective way to control Diabetes that is RED – Rest, Exercise and Diet. Mr.V.Vishvaa Narayan, Chief Organizing Officer, spoke of the association between Thangamayil Jewellery and Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science and also introduced the speaker Dr.V.Palani Kumaran.
Dr.V.Palani Kumaran spoke at length about diabetes, sharing his knowledge about the types of diabetes, symptoms and the treatment to control diabetes. This was followed by an interesting interaction between the faculty and the doctor.
Mr. Suresh Raja of the department of Business Administration not only welcomed the guests and faculty members but also thanked them.
