The Department of Computer Science (Data Science & Analytics) and Computer Science
(Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) organized a seminar titled “Team Building” on 28
August 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the TVR Hall and AI/ML Lab. The seminar was
organized to provide students with valuable exposure to automation in the IT industry and to
highlight the importance of effective communication, teamwork, creativity, and collaboration.
The programme commenced with a Welcome Address by S. Mahajothi, I B.Sc CS (AI &
ML), followed by the Guest Address for Mr. Maruthu Pandi by S. Janarthanan, III B.Sc CS
(DSA) and the Guest Address for Mr. K.G. Harshan by K. Karan, III B.Sc CS (DSA). The
programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks by P. Janani, I B.Sc CS (DSA). Following the
inaugural programme, the I B.Sc.,CS(AI & ML), I B.Sc.,CS(DSA) and II B.Sc.,CS(DSA)
students remained in the TVR Hall for an interactive session conducted by Mr. K.G. Harshan.
During the session, Mr. K.G. Harshan divided the students into 13 teams, with approximately
7–10 students in each team. Each team was given a unique name and was asked to explain the
meaning behind the name and the reason for choosing it. This encouraged students to think
creatively and helped them understand the importance of developing a common identity and
sense of belonging within a team.
The seminar was an interactive and informative session focused on developing essential skills
such as communication, listening, teamwork, coordination, creativity, and decision-making.
Various activities helped students understand the importance of active listening and non-verbal
communication through instructions, gestures, and team coordination. A creative activity
involving ₹1 crore encouraged students to think about business, investment, social service, and
financial planning. Mr. K.G. Harshan also explained the growing role of automation in the IT
industry and the need to continuously update technical skills.Overall, the seminar emphasized
that technical knowledge along with communication, teamwork, creativity, and
interpersonal skills is essential for career success.
Totally 125 students from I B.Sc.,CS(AI & ML), I B.Sc.,CS(DSA) and II B.Sc.,CS(DSA)
attended in the seminar.

Industry” on 28 August 2026 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at the TVR Hall and Academic Lab
I. The programme was organized to provide students with practical and industry-oriented
knowledge about automation and emerging technologies.
The programme began with a Welcome Address delivered by S. Mahajothi, I B.Sc CS (AI &
ML), followed by the Guest Address for Mr.S.Maruthupandi delivered by S. Janarthanan,
III B.Sc CS (DSA). The Guest Address for Mr. K.G. Harshan was delivered by K. Karan, III
B.Sc CS (DSA), and the programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by P.
Janani, I B.Sc CS (DSA).
At 11:10 AM, the III year students moved to the AI/ML Lab for their dedicated session, while
the I and II year students remained in the TVR Hall. The III year students were addressed by
Mr.S.Maruthu Pandi.
Mr. Marudhupandi shared his practical experience in designing an automated T-shirt
manufacturing machine, explaining how automation reduces manual effort and improves
efficiency. He introduced Arduino, Embedded C, and PLC and explained their applications in
controlling automated machines and industrial processes.
The session helped students connect their academic knowledge with real-world industrial
applications and highlighted the importance of technical skills, problem-solving, teamwork, and
communication.Overall, it provided III year students with valuable insights into industrial
automation and controller-based systems.
Totally 33 members from III CS(DSA) attended the session.

As part of the departmental initiative to promote creativity, student engagement, and awareness of the objectives of the Trade Club, the Department of Commerce (Honours & ACCA) conducted a Logo Creation Activity for the Trade Club on 29.08.2026 at S1 and S2 Halls, Subbalakshmi Block. The activity aimed to provide students with an opportunity to express their creativity and develop a visual identity representing the vision and objectives of the Trade Club. The faculty members introduced the purpose of the activity and explained the significance of a logo in communicating the identity, values, and objectives of an organisation. Students were encouraged to incorporate creative elements related to trade, commerce, business, finance, and entrepreneurship into their logo designs. Students actively participated in the activity and presented innovative logo concepts reflecting various aspects of commerce and trade. The activity provided an engaging platform for students to explore their creative abilities while connecting their ideas with the fundamental concepts of commerce. It also encouraged students to think critically and creatively about the identity and purpose of the Trade Club. The programme witnessed enthusiastic
participation from the students, with active involvement and exchange of ideas throughout the session.
The activity successfully promoted creativity, teamwork, communication, and student engagement while strengthening awareness about the Trade Club and its objectives. The session concluded with
appreciation from the faculty coordinator for the students' active participation and creative efforts.
Students were encouraged to continue their involvement in the upcoming Trade Club activities and
contribute actively to its initiatives during the academic year 2026–27.

The AI Club of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science organized a seminar
titled “AI 2026: From Generative AI to Agentic AI – Transforming Your Future” on 29.08.2026
(Saturday) from 12:40 PM to 1:30 PM at F3 Hall. The programme was organized for first-year
students to enhance their awareness and understanding of Artificial Intelligence and its emerging
trends. The session highlighted the evolution from Generative AI to Agentic AI, its applications
in education and industry, and emerging career opportunities. Students gained insights into the
latest AI technologies and the skills required for future careers. An interactive session was
conducted to address students’ queries on AI applications, higher education, research, and career
prospects. The seminar was successfully conducted for first-year students about the growing
scope of Artificial Intelligence and its role in shaping the future. A total of 57 students
participated in the programme.

On August 28, 2026, the Department of Food Science and Processing Management &
Department of Nutrition and Dietetics organized a workshop on “Bakery Ann’s Recipe” from
9.00 AM to 1.30 PM in Training Bakery and Confectionery. Miss. R. Subalakshmi, Proprietor,
Ann’s Recipe, Theni was the trainer for this workshop. The workshop conducted to promote
healthy baking practices by replacing refined and synthetic ingredients with nutritious, chemical-
free organic substances. It was highly interactive and informative. Students learned organic
baking, sourcing of organic ingredients and got insights into starting a healthy, organic home-
bakery business model. About 26 students from the Department of Food Science and Processing
Management and the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics were benefited from this Workshop.
Objectives:
 To create awareness on healthy baking with organic ingredients.
 To teach preparation of bakery products using organic flours, organic jaggery and millets.
 To understand nutritional benefits of organic ingredients.
 to encourage students towards organic bakery entrepreneurship

Workshop on “Devops Implementation” was conducted on 28.8.2026 (Friday) by
Department of Networking (CC). Chief guest of this Program was Mr K. Chandru from Vectra
Solutions, Chennai. The Program was started with prayer song and welcome speech was given
by Manimuthu P 2nd year Networking. Then the Head of the Department, Dr. V. Muthu
Ganeshan. gave an introduction about chief guest. Then Chief Guest Mr K. Chandru from Vectra
Solutions, Chennai, has started her session Devops Implementation. The workshop introduced
the fundamentals and importance of DevOps in modern software development. It provided useful
knowledge about implementing DevOps practices and helped participants understand industry-
oriented workflows. The Program ended with National Anthem. A total of 58 students
participated in this workshop.

The Department of Commerce – Banking & Insurance and Computer Applications &
FinTech organized a Seminar on “Indian Financial System” on 28 August 2026 for the I B.Com.
Banking & Insurance and I B.Com. CA & FinTech students at Hall No. G2, Subbalakshmi
Block. The session began with a warm welcome by Ms. Khushbu Kumari, II B.Com. (B&I)
student, who introduced the Resource Person and formally handed over the session.
Dr.D. Abraham Pradeep, Associate Professor, RLIMS, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy
College of Science, Madurai, served as the Resource Person for the seminar. He provided an
informative overview of the Indian Financial System, explaining its major components,
including financial institutions, financial markets, financial instruments, and financial services.
He also discussed the role of banks, non-banking financial institutions, insurance companies,
capital markets, and regulatory institutions in the economic development of the country. The
Resource Person explained the importance of the financial system in mobilizing savings,
promoting investments, facilitating credit, and supporting economic growth. The students
actively participated in the session and interacted with the Resource Person by raising questions
related to banking, insurance, financial markets, and investment opportunities. The questions
raised by the students were addressed effectively with practical examples. The session concluded
with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Khushbu Kumari, II B.Com. (B&I) student. Overall, the
seminar was informative and beneficial, providing students with a better understanding of the
structure, functions, and importance of the Indian Financial System. A total of 69 students
benefited from the programme.
Outcome of the Programme
 Students gained a basic understanding of the structure and components of the Indian
Financial System.
 Students understood the role of banks, financial institutions, financial markets, and
financial services in economic development.
 The seminar enhanced students’ awareness of banking, insurance, investment, and
capital market activities.

 Students developed a better understanding of how the financial system helps in
mobilizing savings and promoting investment.
 The interactive session improved students’ financial awareness and practical
understanding of financial institutions and markets.
 Students were encouraged to explore career and investment opportunities in the financial
sector.
 The programme helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical
understanding of the Indian Financial System.
 69 students benefited from the seminar.

A Bakery Workshop was organized for the I N&D, II FSPM and III FSPM students on 28 August 2026. The workshop was conducted with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to baking and bakery-related skills. The programme focused on developing practical baking and decorating techniques, understanding the correct use of ingredients, and following proper hygiene and food safety standards.

The workshop also encouraged students to explore bakery as a career and entrepreneurship opportunity. Through hands-on activities, students gained practical experience in quality baking and learned the importance of creativity in food presentation and decoration. The programme helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical application, while enhancing students’ confidence, creativity, and employability skills.

The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management organized a Career Guidance Programme on “Career Opportunities in the Singapore Hospitality Industry” on 24.08.2026. The  programme featured Mr. L. Rajasekar, Hospitality International consultant, Chennai, as the Chief Guest. A total of 41 students from third year MC&HM actively participated in the program. Mr.L.Rajasekar began the session by sharing his professional journey and emphasizing the importance of passion, dedication, and continuous learning in the hospitality industry. He provided valuable insights into various career pathways in Singapore’s hotel and restaurant industry, including opportunities in Front Office Management, Food and Beverage Service, Culinary Arts, Housekeeping, and Hospitality Management. He also highlighted the importance  of soft skills, effective communication, professionalism, and adaptability for building a successful career in the hospitality sector. The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer  session, during which students and parents clarified their doubts and received personalized
guidance and advice tailored to their career aspirations.
