Ruby Food Products Private Limited, Madurai, celebrates the real goodness of nature’s best gifts i.e., fruits and nuts.  They believe that real goodness requires a real good drink to go with it. It all started in 1962, when Mr. Srinivasan desired to create a beverage that he could feel good about serving to people. Selling his home-made grape juice at a teeny-tiny local shop in Madurai, he made his way up to the leaders in beverage market. Today, Ruby basks in its own 5-decade-old glory of being renowned in some of the prominent cities of South India. They have modified in multiple ways in order to match the consumer requirements; such as adapting the latest trends in Processing Technology and Packaging, expanding their reach to cities across South India and so much more. Career Guidance Programme cum Alumni Interaction on “Opportunity Zones – Graphic Design in Corporates

D.P.Roy Choudhury Association of Department of Animation organized a Career Guidance programme cum Alumni Interaction on “Opportunity Zones – Graphic Design in Corporates” on 10.12.2022 from 09.30 a.m. – 10.30 a.m. at Animation Academic Lab – I.

Mr.M. Abdul Aziz Hakkim, Asst. Prof, Dept. of Animation welcomed the gathering.  Ms. BhuvaneswariMeena (2015-18 batch), Visual Design Associate,
Level – III, AmazonPvt. Ltd, Chennai, acted as the chief guest of the event.

She addressed that the graphic designer has many responsibilities ranging from conducting themselves in a professionaland ethical manner in their work to employing well thought through solutions based around sustainabledesign processes and practices in the corporate sectors. It is the role of a graphic designer to use colors, text, images, and symbols to assist with their company’s design process and make communications easier to understand for all audiences.

She also insisted that Graphic designers come in many forms: web/online, 2D & 3D animation print, video, multimedia, branding, illustration.A graphic designer’s portfolio should include their most recent and impressive projects. A diverse portfolio is ideal for providing a quick summary of accomplishments and abilities. It is also important that a designer’s portfolio is credible with reviews and references in addition to their work. She shared experiences with 2Adpro &Amazon and the pipeline followed by them which gave an insight to the aspiring students.

The programme endedsuccessfully and totally, 69 students from I &III year B.Sc. Animation& P.G. Diploma were benefitted through this event.

Ø In Poster Presentation event, the theme was given to the students a day before for designing a poster on “Future World in my Perception”.  The students designed many innovative posters by using the tools and templates available in the canvas software tool.

Session on “Launch of 5G Services in India by Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi Ji.”

The Ministry of Education organized a Session on “Launch of 5G Services in India by Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi Ji” on  01. 10. 2022.   The program was organized in our college by SLCS – Institution’s Innovation Council as live stream through YOUTUBE Platform. The 5G Launch program was held in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Our Prime Minister introduced 5G services in India, and conveyed that the technology will be available and accessible to all.  He also said that 3 major services such as Reliance Jio, Airtel and Vodafone demonstrated the potential benefits of 5G services usage in linking better opportunities in sectors of education, agriculture, cyber security and disaster management.  He also informed that 5 G services is a greater push for Atmanirbhar Bharat. Totally, 175 students and 10 Faculty Members from various departments eagerly participated in the program.

Key Highlights:

·        Students along with staff reached the VOC Port at 11.30 a.m.  After paying the necessary entry fee, the port authority permitted to visit the unloading area of Berth No. 9, where a bulk carrier vessel was unloading the Coal cargo.

·        Later, we were permitted to enter in to the deck of the ship and observed the loading process.

·        Finally, we visited the signal station of the port, where the station in charge explained the process of entry and exit traffic into the port.

Outcome(s) of the activity:

·        understand the basic port operations in the port and obtained the hands- on training of loading process inside the bulk career ship.
