SLCS Samaaj Seva – an extension activity “Share a Meal” was organised by the “Lakshya” the Department Association of MBA Program on 29th January 2022, at 1.10 p.m. in Maduri District. The event was organised to share a meal with the homeless. 20 MBA students distributed 37 packs of food to the homeless people.
International Webinar on “Card Payment Industry Overview” focusing the areas of Fintech and Banking was organised by the “Lakshya”, Department Association of MBA Programme in Association with Career Counselling Cell on 27th January 2022 at 6.30 pm through Google Meet. The resources person for the webinar was Ms Kimberly Nichols, Senior Director – Product Development, InComm Payments, USA. The webinar was organised to facilitate the learning and understanding the various aspects of Digital Payments especially the usage of Plastic Money. Sixty Four MBA students were benefited out of this webinar.
SLCS SamaajSeva – an extension activity on “Financial Literacy” was organised by the “Lakshya” the Department Association of MBA Program on 22nd Jan 2022, at 10.30 am in the SamuthayaKoodam, K.Sevalpatti near Kariyapatti. The event was organised to create the awareness in learning and comprehending various aspects of Central Govt. Schemes among village people. Totally 2 faculty members Prof. P Selvam & Dr.Sekar were the program Co-ordinators and 3 I-MBA students organised this activity. Totally25 people from K. Sevalpatti got benefited through this SLCS SamaajSeva.
The Parents Teachers Meeting was conducted on 18th Jan ’2022 at 3.45 p.m to 4.30 p.m through Google Meet Platform. The Meeting link was sent to the student’s at 3.30 p. m. Dr M Subramanian – Head RLIMS Inaugurated the Meeting. Prof. P Selvam welcomed all the students and their parents. During the PTA meet, the faculty members discussed about the progression and fees pending details of the students. 67 I-MBA students along with their Parents have participated in this meeting.
The webinar on the topic“Introduction to Six Sigma” was organised by the “Lakshya” Department Association of MBA Program on 12th Jan’ 2022 at 10.30 am through Google Meet (YouTube Live). Mr. Venkatesh Ravi, MBA from TSM – BIZP Consultant was the key note speaker of the session. The various aspects of Six Sigma was comprehended through this session. The webinar was organised to enhance the students’ capability to face the competitive world. Totally 75 MBA students (I- MBA 67 & II MBA 8) were benefited out of this event and Prof. P. Selvam was the event co-ordinator of this webinar.
Solo Singing Competition was organized by the department of MBA and Commerce (Honours) ACCA as a part of Pongal Celebration on 07.01.2022 at F32 of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai. 16 students from various departments took part in the competition. Welcome address was given by Dr. D.Selvaraj, Asst. Prof. & Head (i/c.,) of Commerce (Honours) ACCA. The event was started with a beautiful song “Sri Chakkara Raja Rajeswari….(Lalithambigai Song)” by the Judge Mrs. G.Lavanya, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science. Then, the participants sang various Tamil songs such as “Tamizhukum Amuthendru Per, Madu Meikum Kanne, Prapo Ganapathy, Puthu Vellai Mazhai, etc.,” based on the theme “தமிழர் பண்பாடு”. At the end the judge announced the name list of the winners of this singing competition. The first prize was awarded to Ms. C.Aarthy of II Year MBA, the second prize was awarded to Ms. D.U.Janani of II Year FSPM and the Third prize was awarded to Ms. S.Madhu Bala of II Year Animation. Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. S.Pugalanthi, Associate Professor, MBA.
As a part of Academic Social Responsibility, a guest lecture session was designed and delivered by Dr M Subramanian, HoD – MBA Program to the Commerce Students of GTN College, Dindugul on 24th December 2021. The program was organized by Institution Innovation Council, GTN College, Dindigul.Mr Vishnu Sankar, PRO, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College participated in this event. The topic of the guest lecture was “The Business Models”. 103 Commerce Students of GTN College benefited out of this program.
A “Heritage Walk” to KeezhaVazhavu, at Melur-Thirupathur Road was organized on 24th December 2021, Thursday in association with M/s Dhan Foundation. The program was organized by “Lakshya”, the MBA Department Student Association. The heritage walk took place under the guidance of Mr Bharathi, Senior Executive, Dhan Foundation. 40 II MBA students benefited out of this program. The heritage walk provided an idea to our students on olden Madurai trade links, Jain sculptures and practices.
Techno-Business Horizons 2021 (TBUSH 2021) – International Workshop on Digital Business was organized by RLIMS (A Unit of SLCS) on 23rd December, 2021 at the college Auditorium. The program was organized by “Lakshya”, the MBA Department Student Association. The Key Speakers were Mr.Satya Sidharth Panda, Digital Marketing Consultant, Bangalore ; Mr Ismath Jafri, Senior Manager, Navi Financial Services, Chennai ; Ms Nithya, Business Head, Digital Business, HCL, Chennai (An alumnus of RLIMS MBA 2004-06 batch) ; Mr Naveen Narayanan, CEO, SSA Consultants, Muscat, Oman (Through Online – Google Meet) ; Mr Ratik Kapoor, Digital Marketing Analytics Manager, Media Mint, Gurgaon, Haryana. 367 student participants benefited out of this program (65 SLCS UG Students, 192 Outside College Students, 110 RLIMS MBA Students). The program was very useful for the participants in learning about the digital business transformation.
As part of an experiential learning initiatives, five of our 2nd MBA Students (MBA 2020-22 batch) served as business stall volunteers for M/s RS Pathy Naturo Products Pvt Ltd. at AGRITECH 2021, Ida-Scudder Hall, Velammal Hospital, Madurai on 18th and 19th December, 2021. Giriraaj, Shanmuganatha Pandian, Mohana, Siddharth, Deivakumar of II MBA were serving as business stall volunteers and gained direct market experience through an exhibition (AGRITECH). The students learnt about how to handle customers visiting exhibition, display of products (merchandising) and holistic experience of marketing of products through an exhibition.
