Alumnus Interaction – Data Center administrator

The Department of Networking organized a Alumni Interaction Online session for the I B.Sc. Networking students on 25th September, 2020. Ms.B.Lakshmipriya, an Alumna spoke about the career path to be pursued and emphasized that students have to choose a career that is closed to their heart. She explained the roles of employees in a professional organization like Database Administrator, Network Administrator, and Data centre Administrator. Students got clarity about choosing a career and also the various opportunities in the Networking field. She urged them to opt for a career with self motivation and interest as this will lead to success and fulfillment of dreams. She further added that students must match their interest and skills with an aptly chosen career. 16 students got benefited by the webinar.

Career Counseling Program on Opportunities in Networking Field

          The Department of Networking organized a Career Counseling Program on Opportunities in Networking Field, for the I B.Sc. Networking students on 25th September, 2020. Mentor Meeting Report

Department of Networking conducted an Online Mentor Meeting on 25-09-2020 (Friday) at Linux Lab. Mr.V.Deepan Chakkaravarthy; Instructor met his mentees from 11.50 AM to 12.40 PM. During the mentor meeting, students shared their difficulties and grievances.

ALUMNUS INTERACTION

The Department of Networking organized an Online Alumnus interaction session for the I year  Networking students on 23th September, 2020. Mr R.Nandhakumar spoke about the requisite skills to become a successful entrepreneur. He said that the line of action should be initiated right from the present day for those with passion in this field. He, also, mentioned the various opportunities available and the rewarding experiences that one can attain in this field.16 Students got benefitted.

He enlightened students about the various security measures to be implemented over a Network. Also insisted about the requisite skills to become a successful entrepreneur. MENTOR MEETING REPORT

Department of Networking conducted a Mentor Meeting through  online  on  11-09-2020 (Friday) at Linux Lab. Mr.V.Deepan Chakkaravarthy, Instructor, taught his mentees how to do eye exercises. Mentees shared their achievements, their grievances and various personal problems with their mentor from 11.50 AM to 12.40 PM.

WEBINAR ON CLOUD COMPUTING

The Department of Networking organized a Webinar on Cloud Computing for the II B.Sc Networking students on 02-09-2020 through online. Mr M.Sabarinathan, Technical Manager, Gateway Software Solutions, Coimbatore, spoke about the essential skills that one should posses in Cloud Computing so as to become successful Cloud Engineers. He emphasized that pro-active steps should be initiated right from the present day for those with passion in this field. He focused on concepts of Virtualization and insisted students about the importance of internship to gain a real time industrial requirements. He taught the different services and security of cloud computing.

                   The purpose of the programme was to motivate the students by sharing the knowledge and experience of the Resource Person, who has long years of experience in the field of  Cloud Computing. The overall organization and deliverance of the resource person was beneficial to and enlightening for the students.25 students got benefited by this webinar.

INTERNET CLUB ACTIVITY

On 25th Feb 2020, the following aspects were addressed during the session;

  • Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of increasing the quality and quantity of website traffic by increasing the visibility of a website or a web page to users of a web search engine
  • E-government offers new opportunities for more direct and convenient citizen access to the Government and for Government provision of services directly to citizens.
  • Social media security is the process of analyzing dynamic social media data in order to protect against security and business threats. Every industry faces a unique set of risks in the  social media, many of which have put organizations in the Press or at the center of controversy.
  • The Information Technology Act2000 provides legal recognition to the transaction done via electronic exchange of data and other electronic means of communication or electronic commerce transactions

ALUMNUS INTERACTION

On 25th February, Mr.S.Harevalagan, an alumnus of the department, shared his experience on the scope in IT and Networking Industry with the 2nd year students. 29 students got benefited.

He discussed the following topics as per the needs of the industry:

  3. Designation Responsibilities  
  4. Importance of  International  Certification
