The Internet club and Techie Quest club jointly celebrated the WORLD EDUCATION DAY on 24^th January, 2022 and organized a WEBINAR ON DIGITAL LITERACY.  Mr.S.Bala Ganesh, Student Coordinator delivered the welcome address. Students of Internet club and Techie quest club participated in the session. Dr.S.Priya, Dean-Academics addressed the gathering. In her speech, she explained the importance and benefits of Open Education Resources (OER) for teaching-learning process. Further, she elaborated on creative commons and its usage. The session helped the students to learn creative works and educational access resources. Totally 44 students (21 students of Internet club and 23 students of Techie quest club) were benefitted by attending the session. Ms.S.R.Tharuni of I CS, delivered vote of thanks.    This interactive session was useful to the students.

Netkings, an Association of Networking Department organized a webinar on “Introduction to DevOps” on 24.01.2022.The program was started with the prayer. Ms.P.Susmitha,II Networking delivered the welcome address . Inaugural address was delivered by our Principal Dr.R.Sujatha and felicitation address was given by our Vice Principal Dr.K.Archunan. Dr.S.Priya, Dean, Academics, delivered special address. Mr.M.Athigopal introduced the chief guest Mr.P.Sathish Kumar, IT Security Engineer, Orion Innovation, Chennai. He enlightened students on DevOps, DevOps Security tools and DevOps Database Administrator. He explained briefly the developments and operations of tools designed to increase an organization’s ability to the students. The chief guest also explained DevOps security tools available for security practices such as Codacy, Aqua Security, Whitesource, Burp Proxy, LogRhythm SIEM and CyberArk. The students who participated got an exposure which will be helpful for their employability. Totally 27 students from I & II Networking were benefited through this workshop. Mr.P.Praveen Kumar ,II Networking proposed the Vote of thanks.

Mr.M.Athigopal and Mr.V.Deepan Chakkaravarthy of the Department of Networking along with five students of Networking Department conducted an Extension Activity on the topic “Digital Literacy” on 07/01/2022 (Friday) for the benefits of the students of  KN Nadar Higher Secondary School at Koodakovil. Through this activity ,  the school students gained valuable information on the following topics  of  “ Impact of Cyber Security in society such as identifying fraudulent data access and  monitoring criminal activities, Internet Connectivity and Computer components needed for the interactive  communication process”.Totally 60 students were benefited through this extension activity.

Netkings, an Association of Networking Department organized a two day “Workshop on Server Configuration using AWS” on 27^th and 28^th December, 2021 for I and II Year Networking students. The session started with the prayer. Welcome address was given by Ms.R.K.Harilakshmi – II Networking. Inaugural address was delivered by our Principal, Dr.R.Sujatha and felicitation address was given by our Vice Principal, Dr.K.Archunan. Dr.S.Priya, Dean Academics delivered special address. Mr.M.Athigopal, Head of the Department, introduced the chief guest. The Resource person of the workshop was Mr.Nantha Kumar Rajasekaran, Founder & CEO of NervyGrid, Madurai. He explained on Cloud Computing and its opportunities in the Cloud Platform. His brief explanation made everyone aware about Cloud industries and AWS-EC2 Computing configuration, SSH using PuTTy Tool with hands on approach. He also focused on today’s industrial needs in the IT sector. He shared his experience as an Entrepreneur. At last he cleared all the queries raised by students. At the end of the session he gave advice on the prospects of the career to every student. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms.E.Ponsakthi,II B.Sc Networking . Finally the program came to an end with the National Anthem. Totally 27 students were benefited through this workshop.

Dr.S.Priya, Dean academics delivered special address. Mr.M.Athigopal introduced the chief guest Mr.G.Aravind Raj, Networking Engineer,Vectra Technosoft Pvt.Ltd,Chennai. He explained briefly about Cloud Computing,  Services, Models, Virtualization and  Cloud security challenges. The chief guest also explained  different open source tools available for cloud configuration named as OpenStack, CloudWatch,Infrastructure Manager, Cloud Monitoring Tool, AppDynamics and  Solar Winds.He also deliberated upon using EC2 services and accessing a host server remotely.  Totally 27 students from I & II Networking, were benefited through this workshop.

The Department of Networking & Career Counselling Cell jointly organized a Career Guidance program on “Job Opportunities in RedHat Linux Platform” on 10.12.2021 for the II year students. Mr.M.Athigopal, Head, Dept. of Networking introduced the Chief Guest, Mr.Prithiviraj Gangai, Vectra Technosoft  Pvt.Ltd ,Chennai. The Resource person shared his industry experience and the current technical knowledge needed for RedHat Linux flavour job in IT industry. He discussed the concepts of Principles of networks, Computer networks, their topologies and importance of virtualization.  He motivated the students to clear the International RedHat Linux certification, which will help them to become employable. He clarified all the queries raised by the students. This session was very useful for the students.  16 students were benefitted through this career guidance program.

On 06.12.2021, Alumnus of Networking Department, Mr.D.Maheshwaran (Batch: 2018 – 2021) Vectra Technosoft Pvt.Ltd, Chennai, interacted with II year Networking students. He shared his career experience and explained the booming technologies in IT industry to the students .He discussed various topics related to Network Administration, Network Security ,and advanced security tools to make  the network safe and   free from vulnerabilities. He also motivated the students to learn new technologies and implement them in their working environment. Mr.D.Maheshwaran enlightened the students about the real world and its scope in industries and other sectors. The students were well motivated throughout this session.  Totally 16 students participated in this program.

In association with alumni cell, Alumna of Networking Department, Mr. K.Karthikeyan (Batch: 2017 – 2020), Software Engineer TCS, Chennai, interacted with  our III year Networking students on 24.09.2021. He shared his industry experience with the students and discussed recent topics of 5G networks, Internet of Things and  IoT Security. He also shared the working experience on Cisco Packet Tracer, Boson, NetSim and GNS3, which is used in Network Processing and its application. He insisted the students to learn domain related courses and their application which will be useful for their employability.  Totally 24 students participated in this program.

On 22.09.2021, alumni of Networking Department, Mr.S. ArulHendry, Mr.K.Lingeswaran  and Mr.M.Thangapandi (Batch: 2017 – 2020), Recruiting Analyst, Accenture Pvt Ltd, Chennai interacted with our students of III B.Sc Networking. They enlightened the students on the skills required to become a server administrator and also Cloud Solution Architect. They advised the students to complete certification courses and also insisted to prepare for the interview during the college days itself. They enlightened the students on current IT technologies and availability of job opportunities in IT & Networking domains. The resource persons also shared their views on the recruitment process in Accenture. Overall 24 students got benefitted and clarified their queries during this interactive session.

The Department of Networking conducted an Online Mentor Meeting on 28-07-2021 (Wednesday) at Windows Lab. MrM.Athigopal, Head of the Department met his mentees between 03.20 PM and 04.20 PM. During the mentor meeting, students shared their difficulties and grievances with the mentor.
