IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell)
Objective
The objectives of IQAC can be summarized as follows:
- To develop the academic environment for promotion of quality introducing in SLCS.
- To Insist/Develop/Increase accountability in SLCS.
- To collaborate with other institution for the promotion of training, placement and research.
Functions
- Organizing Intra Department Functions like Workshop, Seminar etc,.
- Documenting all the events of the SLCS.
- Preparation of AQAR and Re-Accreditation Report for submitting to NAAC

Action Plan
Action Plan: 2016 – 2017
- To revise the curriculum according to the industry needs.
- To enhance the employability of the students through Skill Development Courses.
- To enhance and attire 100% placement with high emolument in all the courses.
- To introduce an admission Cell during the admissions, in order to guide and motivate the students to select the course which they are interested in.
- To attire 100% admission during the academic year 2017-18.
- To start a Research Cell.
- To expand the activities of Counseling Cell by entering into an Agreement with M.S.Chellamuthu Trust & Research foundation.
- To organize many Community Program.
- The college management has planned to arrange the Faculty Development Program.
Result of Action Plan 2016 – 2017
- The Curriculum was revised to the Current National/state level industries requirements.
- A Campus Requirement Drive was successfully carried out for II year & III year UG Students and II year & III year PG Students.
- Almost Animation, Viscom, Marine, Catering and RLIMS Students were 100% placed.
- An Admission Cell was introduced.
- 100% admission was achieved in the year 2017-2018.
- A Research Cell was established.
- One MOU will be entered with M.S. Chellamuthu Trust & Research Foundation, Madurai.
- One FDP was conducted.

- Breakthrough one of the India’s leading outbound training companies and also a place of Experiential Learning Methodology. The college management planned to arrange the Faculty Development Program to Breakthrough, Hosur.

- Curriculum was revised to suit the state level industry needs.
- Skill Development Courses was conducted successfully II year & III year UG Students and II year & III year PG Students.
- The students of the RLIMS, VISCOM, Animation and Marine Catering are 100% placed and in the remaining courses majority of the students are placed.
- M.Phil in management was introduced in the year 2016-2017.
- B.B.A (Logistics & Shipping Management) & B.Sc (Fire & Industry Safety) were introduced to claim the needs of the students community.
- An admission Committee was formed.
- A Breakthrough Programme for staff and students was held at Hosur and Management sponsored the Total Project.

- The Syllabus was revised according to the current industry needs.
- Skill Development Programme was conducted in the name of campus Requirement Training to the II year & III year UG Students and II year & III year PG Students.
- The placement record proves that the placement has been improved over the previous year.
Action Plan: 2013 – 2014
- The façade of the entrance gate is to be developed.
- Organic farming and vermiculture is to be further expanded to meet the vegetables needs of the mess as well as to increase the green belt of the campus.
- Technical strength of the existing departmental infrastructure is to be enhanced through additional Computers and Softwares.
- To enhance the students enrolment rate, an enlarged network of promotional programme for school for school children, will be conducted.
- Already PG Diploma in Advanced Banking and Financial Market, a one year PG Diploma program has been offered to graduates, working employees and house wife for improving the job prospects and career in the booming banking sector. And now a new PG Diploma, Diploma and Certificate programs are to be started in areas having job opportunities like Sales, Retail, Logistics and Banking sectors.
- Our institution is embarking on efforts to elevate department of MBA as a recognized research center.
- Department of Maritime Hospitality Studies will have a tie-up with National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST) soon in an intension to implement a course related to food safety, hygiene & sanitation, temperature control and time & temperature control. This is a three days programme where two days theory classes and one day online test will be conducted. NIST has a tie-up with CIEH that grants recognized certificate for this course. The department is going to have a tie-up with American Culinary Federation which has its Institution at Florida, USA. Here the students will receive a certificate on “Certified Cook” after their six months programme.

- The entrance gate was magnificently fabricated.
- Organic Farming is well developed and it meets the need of the mess & canteen so that the students are getting healthy foods.
- Additional computer and softwares purchased & installed.
- To improve the student environment rate Carrier Guidance Programme was conducted with the Dinamalar Vazhikatti Programme.
