As per the time table, an introductory mentor meeting for the even semester 2017 – 18 was commenced on 16.11.2017 at Seminar Hall by 11.10 AM. During this meet, all mentors asked about grievances from their mentees. Also the mentors informed the students that, there will be a mentor meeting every month 3rd Thursday between 11.10 AM to 12.05 PM (Third hour). So students can share their grievances and various personal problems faced by them with their mentors.

Outcome
On that day itself he conducted the entry level internship come placement eligibility test to the III B.Sc. Computer Science & III B.Sc Information Technology students. As a result ten (10) students were selected for internship training.

Mr.K.Aravind Kumar (Cell No: 9677881422) , an alumnus of 2009-2012 B.Sc(Computer Science) Batch, who is presently working as a Assistant Manager in Sales, Vodafone Cellular, Madurai, visited our department and had a interaction with current II-B.Sc(IT) & II-B.Sc(CS) [2016-2019 Batch].
He asked the students to update themselves in recent technology along with the academic syllabus.
He insisted the students, that they should be energetic, dynamic and active during class hours and never waste the precious time.
He said the value added programs will help them in right way and give more chances for their placements.

MOCK INTERVIEW
As a placement initiative on 20.09.2017, Mrs. N.Anuradha, Coordinator and Mrs.N.Nirmala Devi, Internship In-charge, Dept. of CS interacted with III B.Sc CS students to give awareness in multiple career opportunities in IT industry.
They guided students to identify their interests and advised them to work on it. They also advised them to develop projects during their vacation time to improve their skills. They instructed students to prepare resume and submit it to the department as softcopy and hardcopy. The session was informative and enriching for students. A mock interview also conducted for all III B.Sc CS & III B.Sc IT students.
Students Participation in FStival’17
Fifteen students from I, II and III B.Sc., Computer Science and the Assistant Professor Mr. S.Vignesh M.E., attended the Open Source Festival (FStival’17 – Software Freedom Day – 2017) which was conducted to celebrate the International Software Freedom Day by Thiagrajar College of Engineering, Madurai on 09/09/2017.
Career Counselling on “Today’s Trend in software industry”
Mr.Karthikeyan , Managing Director of ElintSys, gave importance tips to the students regarding the today’s trend in software industry. He describe about his company and said his clients are in three countries like Japan, America and Germany.
In Japan and Germany he has clients who deal software for automobile fields and in America he has the client who deals software for hospital management fields.
All 10th, 12th, Diploma, Engineering, UG and PG students are learning programming languages without knowing its difference, He said that Analytical Skill is the main skill required for every student to be get placed. He too added that Diploma Student will think much smarter when compared other five.
He asked the expected salary to the mob and said the students can get good salary if they have good analytical skill and knowledge in areas such as big data, artificial intelligence and robotics etc. He too added that the x-president of Infosys told that in 2025 there will be no name called software developer and every work of software developers will be replaced by artificial machine coding.
Big data, Artificial Intelligence will play a vital role all over the world in future. He too informed the student to know about SAP (System Application Product) a world largest software company and their strategies that improves the business of various companies in the world wide.
OUT REACH PROGRAM – SN College
On behalf of department of Computer science & Information Technology, four students and the Assistant Professor S.Vignesh went to Sarasvathi Narayanan College for the outreach program and conducted the awareness workshop on the information security. The students demonstrated the ethical hacking tools to the various departments (III B.Sc. Computer Science, BCA, BBA, and B.Com Students) of S N College. All students eagerly attended the program.
Vice Principal Dr. K. Krishnan, S N College inaugurated the function and the special address was delivered by Mrs.M.S.Vani Sangeetha, HOD, department of Computer Science, SN College and the special address was delivered by Dr. Ramachandran, Assistant Professor regarding the importance of information security.
Our second year B.Sc. Computer Science students of SLCS Mr. S.Rajamanikkam, Mr. Ashok, Mr. Vigneshwaran and Mr. Gowtham Shankar had demonstrated the hacking tools and gave the awareness regarding information security and what are the security measures that are need to done as a everyday practice to secure our working environment as well as to secure our personal devices and gadgets from the security breaches. Finally the outreach program feedback form was circulated to the target audience and their valuable feedbacks were collected.
Seminar on “What You Think Is What You Become”
The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology conducted seminar on topic “What You Think Is What You Become” on 21-7-2017 morning.
The event began with a prayer song followed by a welcome address by K.Vignesh III B.Sc CS. Mrs.N.Anuradha, HOD-CS and Mrs.K.P.Maheswari, HOD-IT gave Felicitation Speech.

The chief guest Mr.Vivek Subburaj, founder & COE, BreakThrough Academy, Madurai, inspired the student through his lecture. He insists everyone to fix a goal and work towards it with full confident.
He too added that the goal will provide us the sense of direction, passion and energy to our life and will make us to complete the tasks within given scheduled time slots.
He said that each and every failure is actually not failures but it gives experiences on what not to be done to achieve success.
He too gave the steps to achieve goal.
