SEMINAR ON “QUALITY MANAGEMENT IN HEIs”

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science conducted a Seminar on “Quality Management in HEIs” on 15.07.2022. Major. Dr. N. Arun Nagendran, Associate Professor of Zoology, Former IQAC Coordinator, Thiagarajar College, Madurai, was invited as the resource person for the seminar.

IQAC Coordinator Dr. M. R. Sumathi delivered and introduced the resource person to the forum. The Principal Dr. R. Sujatha, the Vice Principal Dr. K. Archunan and the Dean – Academics Dr. S. Priya honored the session through their presence.

The resource person shared about the quality management that to be followed in the Higher Education Institutions. He insisted the members to give correct and complete data while compiling the SSR. He reiterated that the quality of the institution also lies in the grade given by the NAAC. So, high concentration and complete understanding should be given while preparing it.

The session was really an eye-opener to all the participants. Totally 36 faculty members attended the session. The IQAC Assistant Coordinator Mrs.R.Suganthi Hepzibha proposed the Vote of Thanks.

Key Highlights:

v The Students of I BBA prepared Posters on the theme “Population Control and Nation Development” and visited Aviyur village which is around 8 kms from the College campus.

v The students elaborated the consequences of the population growth as it may lead to poverty, water scarcity, unemployment and maternal mortality.

v The students briefed the importance of controlling population and how it helps to develop our country economically.

v The students also discussed the various measures taken by Government of India in controlling population.

Outcome(s) of the activity:

v The villagers in Aviyur understood the importance of population growth and promised that they will follow the guidelines for controlling population growth.

v They also assured that they will create awareness among the younger generations in that locality.

Mr. ThameemAnsar explained in detail about photography. He explained the different types of cameras and different types of lighting. He also explained 360° Camera and its history. Photography is an art of capturing light with a camera. The students appreciated the session.

Outcome(s) of the activity:

·         The studentsacquired a clear knowledge about ‘Event photography’.

·         The students were able to quote prices that were in the industry standards.

·         The students came to know as to how they have to approach a customer.

Students Achievement in CMA Exam

Mr. J.Siva and Mr. K.Venkatesh, of III B.Com., (Honours) ACCA, successfully passed the Foundation Level Examination in CMA conducted by The Institute of Cost Accountants of India on June 2022. They are going to appear for ACCA papers and CMA intermediate papers. The academic performance is highly appreciable and career guidance is given by our Professors and Principal. The Department of Commerce (Honours) ACCA, appreciated the remarkable performance of Mr. J.Siva and Mr. K.Venkatesh in the CMA Courses.
