ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized a Value Added Course on “Containerisation, EXIM and customs procedures” on 24.09.2019 and 25.09.2019. The resource person was Mr.Vallinayagam, Consultant – Faculty, CII – Institute of Logistics, Chennai. The resource person highlighted the different types of containers, issues and challenges in containerisation. He also explained the various concepts related to EXIM and customs procedures.
ZEAL (BBA Association) of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science organized a “Seminar on Dream career opportunities in the logistics sector” on 24.09.2019. Capt.T.S.Ramanujam, CEO, Logistics Sector Skill Council was invited as the resource person. The resource person highlighted the various terminologies in logistics and it’s relevant in the industry. He also mentioned the various career opportunities available in the logistics sector and the relevant skills needed. Dr.S.Ganesan, Head – Education Initiatives, Logistics Sector Skill Council was also present.
Department of Fire & Industrial Safety organized one day guest Lecture Programme on the topic of ‘Quality Concepts’. Dr.A.Palpandi Prof & Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, BNEC was a resource person. He gave the valuable lecture about the Quality Management Concepts, ISO, TPM, TQM, 5S, Quality Tools. Students interacted with him and clarified their doubts clearly & efficiently.
Totally 64 students participated in this program.
The Alumni of MC&HM student Mr.Aravindha Samy 2014-2017 batch interacted with the second year students and shared his experience on the current scope in the Shipping and Hotel industry .
ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized an Exposure Visit to Singai Coir Clusters Private Limited and ACS Oil mill at Singampunari on 23.09.2019. The processes involved right from the extraction of coir from coconut shell to the manufacturing of coir mats was witnessed and explained. Students also had the opportunity of meeting a real time entrepreneur involved in the extraction of oil. The various processes related to logistics and Supply Chain Management was explained in detail.
On 20.09.2019 the department of Viscom has done its extension activity in Sri vani Matriculation school in Madurai. Along with six students assistant professors Mr Pradeep kumar K and Mr S Arun Mozhi Varman have gone to the school to take the session. They have presented a lecture and Power point presentation on social media and mobile phone usage. The students from school have found the session was very useful.

Department of Animation organized a Field Trip to Kodaikanal for 3 days (from 18th – 20th Sep 2019). Around 47 students from the I year Animation were accompanied by our college Faculty members Mr. P. Thirunavukkarasu, H.O.D – Animation, Mr. V. Chenthil Kumar, Coordinator – Animation, Mr. M. Abdul Aziz Hakkim, Instructor – Animation and Ms. Sumathi – Warden.
The Department organized this field trip to develop the student’s Creativity and learn about the Natural Landscapes. On these three days of the trip, the students visited places like Silver falls, Shenbaganur Museum, Coaker’s Walk, Kurinji Andavar Temple, Pillar Rock, Pine forest and the Lake. This trip has been very effective for the students to develop their knowledge and Mr. P. Thirunavukkarasu also did a Landscape painting of a tourist spot. Mr. Chenthil Kumar taught about the importance of lighting and Composition in Photography, which shed light on students to gain knowledge in their respective areas. Students have enjoyed the trip as an experiential learning and gave a positive feedback.
A guest lecture on Digital India was held on 19th, September 2019 for II B.Sc CS(SSS) & III B.Sc CS(SSS) students. The session began with a welcome speech by L.G.Subhashini, II B.Sc CS(SSS) ‘B’. The Presidential address was given by Principal Dr.B.Ramamoorthy. Dr.S.Priya, Dean-Academics addressed the students and filled the atmosphere with positive vibration. The felicitation address was delivered by Head of the Department Mrs.N.Anuradha.
The session was handled by the Chief Guest Mr.M. Balamanikandeswaran, Trainer, Synergy School of Business Skills, Madurai. He explained about Digital Marketing and Social Marketing very interactively. At last feedback was given by students. Vote of thanks was proposed by V.Uma, II B.Sc CS(SSS) ‘B’. Totally 42 students got benefited through this program.
