Art of Script Writing Competition

Art of Script Writing Competition was organized by the Art & Media Club of Animation Department for all the Students on 24.02.2021at Animation drawing hall.

The Competition started with an Icebreaking Session followed by a special address, given by Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, Head i/c, Department of Animation. He gave a magnificent talk on Art and its origin. He described the significance of Script writing and narrated different stories of our country. He encouraged students to express their views through art as it would lead to their spiritual and emotional happiness. He cited the example of renowned artists and sculptors from different nations who worked only for their inner joy and a fulfilling life. Mr.Abdul Aziz Hakkim, Coordinator of the club proposed the vote of thanks.

The Competition concluded with the students Creative writing skills and requesting for more such competitions. 30 students from various departments were participated in the Competition.

Miniature Sculpting competition

Miniature Sculpting competition was organized by the Art & Media Club of Animation Department for all the Students on 10.02.2020 at Animation drawing hall. Guest lecturers Mr.Sakthivel.,M.F.A., and Mr.Radhakrishnan.,M.F.A., (Sculptors) are the Chief Guest for the Events.

Ms.R.Subhiksha, II Year Animation delivered the Welcome address. Dr.R.Sujatha, Vice Principal delivered the Presidential address. Dr.S.Priya, Dean – Academics, delivered the Felicitation address. Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, HoD, Introduced the Chief Guests and shared about the Competition. Ms.B.Swetha, I Year Animation delivered Welcome address in the Competition Inauguration. All our students from various departments were participated and prepared their clay model in various forms with lots of creative thoughts. Department Faculty Members Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, Coordinator, Mr.M.Purusothaman, Mr.P.Kishore Kumar, Mr.M.Abdul Aziz Hakkim Instructors made all the arrangements. Overall, it was a fun and artistic Competition.

Drawing competition

Art & Media Club organizing a Drawing Competition on 14/11/2018 at 12.40 pm at Animation Drawing Hall.  The programmed was inaugurated by Mr. P.Thirunavukarasu, Head-Department of Animation.The primary aim of the competition is to nurture creativity and talent and to promote an artistic bent of mind amongst young artists. He addressed that Drawing competitions encourage to think outside the box, explore their creative potential, and come up with unique ideas and concepts. When they participate in such competitions, they are exposed to a diverse range of themes, topics, and challenges that challenge their imagination and creativity.

Creativity flows out in a rhythm, vibrant and alive, present in every student. They should be guided with the right tools to transform their imagination into successful dimensions. It is the duty to give them freedom and space to let their creativity blossom to its full potential.The students expressed their creativity and unbridled imagination through the palette of colours. They were very energetic and their Sketches wereremarkable.The competition was an enriching experience for all the participants.

Student Induction Program 2022

On 4th August, 2022, Student Induction Program organized for the first year students of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science. The program is arranged for the first year students and their parents to familiarize with the institution and make them comfortable. As a Precaution for COVID- 19, the program had two sessions with around 400 members per session. The session had an insight into the perspectives and infrastructure of the college. The program coordinators are Mr. P Kishore Kumar, Head i/c cum Assistant Professor of Animation and Dr. D Abraham Pradeep, Assistant Professor, MBA. The various committees of the Program enhanced the comfortability of the parents and the students with the help of the management. The first session of the day, started with the lighting of the panchamuga lamp by the Principal, Vice Principal, Dean Academics, Chief Guest and a volunteer from Parents side. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. S Priya, Dean Academics, SLCS. Dr. K Archunan, Vice Principal, SLCS, gave his views on Punctuality to the freshers. Dr. Pavithra, Head/ Department of Food Science welcomed the Chief Guest. Mr. Baburajan, Programme Head- TCS, Chennai was invited as the chair person for the session. He insisted on the idea of Self Education as an important aspect to build one’s self for the future. He also stated that, “Excuses and Success would never go together. Grab the opportunity and excel with success instead giving excuses.” Then, Dr. R Sujatha, Principal, SLCS, introduced the departments and faculties to the gathering. Mrs. R Suganthi Hepzibha, IQAC Coordinator cum Assistant Professor of  English, briefed on the rules and regulations of the college. Finally, Dr. N. Selvi, Department of Tamil proposed the vote of thanks. The second session of the day, started with the lighting of the panchamuga lamp by the Principal, Vice Principal, Dean Academics, Chief Guest and a volunteer from Parents side. He insisted on the idea of employability with a specified goal as an important aspect with experience as a tool to achieve it. Then, Dr. Sujatha, Principal, SLCS, introduced the departments and faculties to the gathering. Mrs. R Suganthi Hepzibha, IQAC Coordinator cum Assistant Professor of English, briefed on the rules and regulations of the college. Finally, Dr. N. CELEBRATION OF UNIVERSAL CHILDRENS DAY

      D. P. Roy Choudhury Association, Department of Animation celebrated theCELEBRATION OF UNIVERSAL CHILDRENS DAY on 20.11.2022 by instructing the students to design the posters in the theme of Universal Children’s Day 2022.

Ms. Jeyabharathi from III year B.Sc. Animation has designed a wonderful poster and it was uploaded it in the department official Social Media Pages.The main objective of this event is to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children’s welfare.Universal Children’s Day is celebrated on 20th November, every year. This date was chosen as a day to celebrate childhood. Prior to 1959 Children’s Day was universally celebrated in the month of October. This was first celebrated in the year 1954, as decided by the UN General Assembly. Basically this day was instituted with the only aim of promoting communal exchange and understanding among children, as well as to bring about beneficiary action to promote the welfare of children, all over the world. The date 20th November was chosen as it marks the anniversary of the day in 1959, when the Declaration of the Rights of the Child was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly.

Children’s Day is all about celebrating the wonderful, pure and innocent childhood. On this day, the department is happy to conduct the Celebration of Universal Children’s Day. It is basically all about giving the child the right kind of knowledge and freedom to enjoy, so that they can grow as healthy and educated citizens of the country.

Professional Training Program on “How to get Research Grants for Projects from Government Sectors”

Department of Animation organized a Professional Training Program on“How to get Research Grants for Projects from Government Sectors” on 09.12.2022 through Google Meet.

The programwas initiated by Mr. P. Kishore Kumar, Head i/c Cum AP, Dept. of Animation, welcoming of the gathering. Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Marketing & Technical Head, ScopikEdutech Pvt. Ltd, Chennai, was the resource person for the day.

He gave a valuable insight into the process for finding, applying for, and securing funding. He addressed that, “These kind of funding schemes aims to encourage emerging and eminent researchers for individual-centric and competitive mode of research funding to undertake R&D activities in frontier areas of various domains. Funding is vital in ensuring sustainability of certain projects and it can play a very important role in arranging for the required funding process. Government funding agencies always want to see that you have made efforts to prepare your projects. It is essential that you display a sense of seriousness and keen to successfully deliver the projects that you are intended to carry out. It is always good to use evidence as a proof of any planning; this is a solid statement to persuade the funders that you are confident about what you are going to do and provides you with much needed training and co-ordination. At last, he concluded with how to write the project proposal and how to take it further.

The program ended productively and totally 8 faculty members were benefitted.

CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS DAY

Art & Media Club &D. P. Roy Choudhury Association, Department of Animation, celebratedthe“International Human Rights Day 2022” on 06.12.2022 at our Animation Academic Lab.

As a part of the Celebration, a Drawing Competition was conducted in the Topic: All Humans…All Equal. The main aim of this competition to exhibit the student’s talents and also to create aware of the Human rights and responsibilities. The students created magnificent sketches on paper with colors. It was related to the present scenario, where students could engage in skillful learning through the medium of Art.

Students participated with great enthusiasm and zest. Indeed the competition provided a platform for theircreative expression.

TotallyXX students from all the departments were participatedin this event.

Workshop on“Concept Art”

D.P.Roy Choudhury Association, Department of Animation organized a Workshop on “Concept Art”on 02.12.2022 from 10.00 a.m.– 05.30 p.min the Animation Academic Lab.

Mr.P. Kishore Kumar, Head i/c cum Asst. Prof, Dept. of Animation, welcomed the gathering. Mr.Jeeva, Freelance Concept Artist, Chennai,acted as the chief guest of the event.

The main aim of this event is to know the role ofConcept artists at present. He addressed that they are playing a vital role in conceptualizing and developing a wide range of creative assets in several circumstances. These artists are extremely good at what they do and must possess various abilities to succeed. He also stated that a concept artist is responsible for creating everything you see in a video game or film. Weapons, props, vehicles, characters, clothing, buildings, interiors, and every minute detail of the character fall into this category. He advised the students that concept art is a rapidly rising area, yet it is also fiercely competitive. Therefore, you will require expert-level art principles like perspective, anatomy, composition, light, and tone to get started as a concept artist (among other things). To captivate the realistic details that pitch, you will need to spend a lot of time practicing from scratch.

The programendedsuccessfully and received a positive feedback from the students. Totally,94 students from I, II, III UG& PG Animation were benefitted through this event.

Industrial Visit to “Menorah Stationery Pvt. Ltd., Madurai”

D.P. Roy Choudhury Association, Department of Animation, organizedan Industrial Visit to Menorah Stationery Pvt. Ltd., Madurai, on 01.12.2022 for III B.Sc. Animation &I P.G. Diploma in Animation Techniques students.

The main aim of this trip is to witness the manufacturing of the stationery products.In a systematic manner, they have witnessed the various stages involved and the role that the employees play.

The in-house printing and finishing products supported by their
product development and designing team helped them to create economy & premium stationary items for essential purposes.Through this visit, the students understood production efficiency and supply chain management and got an insight about the manufacturing of the books and other products and their safe storage in the warehouse.

It is an absolute productive way to observe, understand and learn something outside the college premises, which paves the way for their better future.The Visit ended fruitfully and totally17 students were benefitted through this visit.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME ON “MAKING HANDICRAFTS USING WASTE MATERIALS”

D.P. Roy Choudhury Association, Department of Animation,organized anExtension Activity – Skill Development Programme on “Making Handicrafts using Waste Materials” on 01.12.2022 at Eliyarpathi Village. Totally, 20 Students from II Year Animation participated in this event.Mr.Arul Yogaraj, Asst. Prof., Dept of Animation,acted as the resource person for the event.

The Main aim of this event is to impart short duration skill development trainingto rural people of the village on “Recycling of Waste Materials into Hand Crafted Product”. He also addressed that the state and central government is trying to enhance the income of traditional clusters of the country and towards making India a $5 trillion economy. Ministry is implementing various schemes for skill to improve the productivity of skilled people, which leads to enhance the earning capacities to ensure sustainable livelihood.He demonstrated making an Artistic Handicraft Material with some of the Waste Products available there. Heastonished the people of the village with his artistic skills.

The People thanked and appreciated the department to bring this activity to their village. Totally, 50 people got benefitted through this program.
