Workshop on 3D Animation and Visual Effects
Mr.M.Purushothaman, Instructor & Mr.N.Naveendra Kumar, Instructor conducted one day workshop for the Computer Science Students of Ayya Nadar Janakiammal College of Arts & Science, Sivakasi on 10.01.2019. They taught students about the 3D Animation and Visual Effects Techniques.
Faculty Participation
“Art for All” is the 16th successive annual event/fair (International Level) organized by Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bengaluru, on 6th January 2019. Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, Head of the Department got selected and participated in this event. His paintings were showcased.
Board of Studies
Department of Animation conducted its 11th Board of Studies meeting on 24th December 2018 (Monday) for the even semester of Current academic year (2018-19).Dr.M.Thangaraj, University Nominee, Professor & Head, Department of Computer Science, School of Information Technology, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, Mrs. Shanmuga @ Mohana, Assistant professor, Department of Visual communication, American College, Madurai and Mr. Nagendran, Asst. professor, Art department, American College, Madurai as subject experts, Mr.Balashyameshwaran, as Industry Expert and Mr. M.Abdul Aziz Hakkim our past student as Alumni member attended the meeting and gave valuable comments and suggestions about the syllabus. It is resolved to continue with the existing syllabus for 2016-19 & 2017-20 Batches. For 2018-21 Batch students, (Part-IV) Environmental Studies Paper Examination mode is converted from normal written examination to Online Examination. Faculty members Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, HoD, Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, Mr.M.Purushothaman, Mr.N.Naveendra Kumar and Mr.P.Kishore Kumar were the members of the meeting and they done all the arrangements.
Field Visit
Students of I & II Year Animation were taken to the field Visit to Pudukkottai, Tanjore, Kumbakonam and its surrounding places for three days, from 10.12.2018 to 12.12.2018. Totally 88 Students (43 (I year Students) + 45 (II Year Students)) were accompanied by 6 Faculty members, Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, Mr.N.Naveendra Kumar, Mr.P.Kishore Kumar of Animation Department, Ms.Kamala Hari Dharani of Networking Department and Ms.Sumathi, Deputy Warden.
Students were taught about Sculptures, Landscape Drawing, Photography, Videography and Elevations.
Extension Activity
Mr.P.Thirunavukkarsu, Head of the Department, Mr.P.Kishore Kumar, Instructor and 5 students, Mr.M.Suriya (17351), Mr.B.Vetrivendhan (17355), Mr.M.Balaji Kannan (17311), Ms.S.Vibitha (17308) & Ms.P.Uma (17307) from the II Animation conducted Extension Activity on 30.11.2018 for the students of 8th Standard in Government High school, Valaiyangulam on topic “Everyday Life with Design” & “E Learning”. Totally 100 students were benefited. We taught students about Traffic symbols, Colour harmony and how to use the social media properly. we got good feedback from the staffs and students.
Orientation Programme
On 09.11.2018 Department of Animation conducted orientation program for the I, II, III Animation Students. Faculties explained about their subjects. Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, Head of the Department urged students about the Discipline. He also advised students to clear their arrears as soon as possible. For III year students need for internship was explained and instructions to be followed during internship period were given.
Group Painting Show
Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, Head of the Department, Animation Conducted a Group Show on October 22 to 28, 2018 at Lalit Kala Academy, Chennai, organized by Art & Culture Department, Govt. of TamilNadu to create awareness among the Public on topic Feminism. Special Guests of the Program were

– Mr.Karthigai Selvam, Managing Editor, Puthiyathalamurai
– Ms.Manushi, Poet, Sahithya Academy Awardee

The program was supported and telecasted by Medias.
Campus Recruitment Drive
Department of Animation organised the Campus Recruitment Drive for the final year students (Batch 2016-19) on 17.09.2018, company 2AD Pro, Chennai conducted the Interview for them. Totally 26 Students participated and 21were selected. Mr.Nirmal, HR & Mr.Ramesh Dhanasekaran, Senior Manager from the company selected the students.
Career Guidance Program
Department of Animation organised the Career Guidance Program for the final year students (Batch 2016-19) on 17.09.2018. Mr.Nirmal, HR & Mr.Ramesh Dhanasekaran, Senior Manager from the 2Ad Pro company (MNC – 2D based Company), Chennai Conducted the program. They shared about the Opportunities in the field, recruiting procedures, Training Methodologies, Mode of working and difference in the pay for the trainees & employees. Stress relaxation and Brain training games were conducted for the students. Students enjoyed the session and actively participated.
