Department of Marine catering and Hotel Management organized “Christmas and New Year celebration-2021” on 24.12.21 in our Training Reasturant. In this day our II year MC&HM students (24 students) have prepared Christmas fruit cake, cherry cake and fruit cookies and displayed them for sales. It has been sold through an Entrepreneur Development Cell and revenue was generated by the students. The objective of this programme was to create awareness among the students to become an entrepreneur as an alternative career option.

Seminaron “Basic Awareness on Consumer Act”

Consumer Awareness Club along with ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized a Seminar on the topic “Basic Awareness on Consumer Act” on 24.12.2021. This day is celebrated as “NATIONAL CONSUMER DAY” in our country.Dr. C. Packialakshmi, Founder and Director, Women Consumer Protection Associationwas the Guest Speaker.The Guest speaker highlighted the basic understanding of Eight Rights of a Consumer. She also explained the process and the criteria essential for applying for Consumer Redressal.She finally clarified the queries raised by many participants in understanding Consumer Rights. Totally 97 students comprising of I BBA (27), II BBA (31) and Students of Fire and Industrial Safety  (19) along with members of Consumer Awareness Club (20) were benefited by this programme.

Guest Lecture on The Business Models

As a part of Academic Social Responsibility, a guest lecture session was designed and delivered by Dr M Subramanian, HoD – MBA Program to the Commerce Students of GTN College, Dindugul on 24th December 2021. The program was organized by Institution Innovation Council, GTN College, Dindigul.Mr Vishnu Sankar, PRO, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College participated in this event. The topic of the guest lecture was “The Business Models”. 103 Commerce Students of GTN College benefited out of this program.

HERITAGE WALK by II MBA Students (MBA 2020-22 Batch)

A “Heritage Walk” to KeezhaVazhavu, at Melur-Thirupathur Road was organized on 24th December 2021, Thursday in association with M/s Dhan Foundation. The program was organized by “Lakshya”, the MBA Department Student Association. The heritage walk took place under the guidance of Mr Bharathi, Senior Executive, Dhan Foundation. 40 II MBA students benefited out of this program. The heritage walk provided an idea to our students on olden Madurai trade links, Jain sculptures and practices.

TECHIE QUEST CLUB-REPORT ON FARMER’S DAY

The Readers’ Hub & Techie quest club jointly organized the programme to commemorate the “International Farmers’ Day” on 24th, December, 2021 in the Classroom S52.  The student’s coordinator S.Madhubala (20302-Animation) welcomed the gathering and the Coordinators of the Clubs Mrs.R.Sailakshmi& Mrs.Gayathri, conducted the event.

Mr.VV.Sundharam(Dept.ofEnglish)& Mr.Sivasubramaniyan(Dept.of Maths) gave special address during the event. They stressed the importance of Agriculture & Farmers and their struggles. Also they explained about the technology innovation such as IoT usage, Corp prediction, Pesticide Prediction etc.,

Totally 104 (Reader’s Hub = 12 students, Techie Quest Club= 12 students, Yoga Club= 11, Electroral literacy club=42, Students’ Corner=27) students eagerly participated and benefitted from it. Students enjoyed and it would be very useful for them in their future endeavors

The sole aim of the activities conducted is to impart skills to the target group that would help to build their confidence and thus inculcate a sense of social responsibility amongst the students.

CUENTAS Association Program

CUENTAS Association organized a   program on the topic  “Pride 2021” on 24.12.21 in NS Annexure Building. I and II B.com ( B & I ) (totally 142 students) participated in this program. Ms.Vidhya  of III B.Com ( B & I ) gave the welcome address. The Competitions like Turn a Coat, Ad-Zap, Tamil Elocution and English Elocution were conducted. Most of the students of I B.Com & II B.Com participated in the competition enthusiastically. Prize winners were announced by the judges for different events. The Vote of thanks was given by Mr. Nagarjun of II B.Com (B & I ). The program ended with a National Anthem.

WORKSHOP ON “CLOUD COMPUTING”

Netkings, an Association of Networking Department organized a one day workshop on “Cloud Computing” on 24.12.2021.The program was started with the prayer. Ms.P.Susmitha,II Networking delivered the welcome address . Inaugural address was delivered by our Principal Dr.R.Sujatha and felicitation address was given by our Vice Principal Dr.K.Archunan. . Dr.S.Priya, Dean academics delivered special address. Mr.M.Athigopal introduced the chief guest Mr.G.Aravind Raj, Networking Engineer,Vectra Technosoft Pvt.Ltd,Chennai. He explained briefly about Cloud Computing,  Services, Models, Virtualization and  Cloud security challenges. The chief guest also explained  different open source tools available for cloud configuration named as OpenStack, CloudWatch,Infrastructure Manager, Cloud Monitoring Tool, AppDynamics and  Solar Winds.He also deliberated upon using EC2 services and accessing a host server remotely.  Totally 27 students from I & II Networking, were benefited through this workshop.

Seminar on Digital Banking

The Department of Commerce B.Com (B&I) organized a Seminar on   “ Digital Banking”  on   24.12. 2021  in II B.Com (B& I) Class Room. Mr.Ismath Jafri, Credit Manager- Home Loan, Navi Finserv , Chennai  was the resource person.  He explained in detail about Digital Banking and their types of Digital payments, Digital Product service and   Benefits of Digital Banking. He, also, mentioned the current scenario    of Digital Banking. This Seminar will help students to get an idea about the function and role of  Digital  banking . A total of 65 students participated and got benefited in this program.

Value Added Course on HTML 5 Essentials

The Department of Computer Science (SSS) conducted a value added course on HTML 5 Essentials for 36 students of I B.Sc CS (SSS)- Batch 2021 – 2024 from 18.12.2021 to 23.12.2021. Mr.N.Shaliya, CEO, Zerami Infotech Pvt Ltd, Coimbatore was the trainer. The students were trained with the basics of HTML 5. By attending  this course, the students are able to create their own websites by using HTML 5 and Java Script. They were also trained to appear for Microsoft International Certification in HTML5.
