Training & Consultancy Program for M/s Aurolab, Madurai

A training and consultancy program was organized by RLIMS – MBA Department for the benefit of M/s Aurolab, Madurai. As per the MOU signed with the M/s Aurolab, Dr M Subramanian, HoD MBA program designed and delivered a training program to the shop floor senior employees on the topic “Mentoring the Mentors”. 40 senior employees (as mentors) from various departments of the production shop floor participated in the program and got trained. The training program was delivered on 07th and 08th December 2021.

Techie Quest club-Multi Factor Authentication Techniques

The Techie Quest club of Computer Science department conducted an activity-2 program on 08.12.2021 at Academic Lab-1. The club members, club coordinator and student club coordinators participated in the meeting. Welcome address was given by Mrs.V.Gayathri, AP of CS. Mr.Aadhithyan, from II Year CS conducted a session on “Multi Factor Authentication Techniques”. He explained on the importance of using Multi Factor Authentication such as “Something you know”, something you are”, something you have. He also insisted the students to secure their personal information using multi factor authentication system. Finally vote of thanks was proposed by Mr.Srinisudhan of III B.Sc CS (SSS). Totally 9 students participated in this program.

CAREER GUIDANCE ON NETWORK ADMINISTRATION

On 06.12.2021, Alumnus of Networking Department, Mr.D.Maheshwaran (Batch: 2018 – 2021) Vectra Technosoft Pvt.Ltd, Chennai, interacted with II year Networking students. He shared his career experience and explained the booming technologies in IT industry to the students .He discussed various topics related to Network Administration, Network Security ,and advanced security tools to make  the network safe and   free from vulnerabilities. He also motivated the students to learn new technologies and implement them in their working environment. Mr.D.Maheshwaran enlightened the students about the real world and its scope in industries and other sectors. The students were well motivated throughout this session.  Totally 16 students participated in this program.

Department Association Inauguration Ceremony 2021-22

The Department of Commerce (Hons) ACCA inaugurated the department association in the name of “Royal Charter Association” in AV Hall, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai on 6th December 2021. The program began with a prayer song. The master of ceremony of the program was given by Ms. K.Sneha, second year B.Com. (Hons’) ACCA. The Head incharge of the Department Dr. D.Selvaraj welcomed the gathering. Our Vice-Principal   Dr. K.Archunan honoured the chief guest and shared his knowledge with us. The chief guest of the ceremony CA P.Ganasavel, Chartered Accountant Practitioner in Madurai, declared the association name and logo. Further, our department faculty Mr. A.Raja announced the nominated members of the Royal Charter Association of our students who were selected by using voting. The selected members are Mr. R.K.Ragul, III Year President, Mr. K.Venkatesh, II Year, Vice-President and Mr. D.Ganeshwaran, I Year, Member Secretary. The members of the association delivered their vision, mission, and objectives of our Royal Charter Association and informed their roles and responsibilities towards the association. The Chief Guest CA P.Ganasavel delivered the presidential address. He spoke on the benefits about choosing ACCA as a career. He also shared his experience of being a chartered accountant. At the end of the ceremony Ms. G.Bhuvana from second year B.Com. (Hons’) ACCA student proposed vote of thanks. The program came to an end with the National Anthem. A total of 50 students participated in this association meet.

Report of Cultural Heritage of India

Cultural Heritage of India was introduced as an extra credit course in the academic year 2020-21 for the 2019-22 batch students. It was resourced by DHAN Foundation, a leading National Professional NGO, who handled the session for 15 hours. The objective of the course is to make the students explore native aspects of knowledge and not only harmonies their way of life but also bring about Moral and Material development of India. It is also aimed to also infuse interest in the students to understand native literature, religion, philosophy and cultural heritage. A total number of 349 students participated and benefitted from the Program. An extra credit of one is awarded to students who fulfill the criteria of attendance, assignments and online test at the end of the Program.

CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAM ON SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

The Department of CS organized a Career Guidance programme on “Software Development” on 3.12.2021 for the III year students at F32 class room. Totally 34 students participated in this session. Mrs.N.Anuradha, Head, Dept. of CS introduced the Resource Person, Mrs.Nirmala Devi, HR / Abservtech Private Ltd, Madurai. She explained about their company, ongoing projects and technical requirement for software development in their company. She clarified all the queries raised by the students. This session was very useful for the students.

Social Issues in Supply Chain Management

The program “Social Issues in Supply Chain Management” was organised by the “Lakshya” Department Association of MBA Program on 02nd December 2021 at 6.30pm through Google Meet (YouTube Live). Dr Ely Laureano Paiva, Professor (Supply Chain Management), Head, Sao Paulo School of Business Administration, Brazil was the key note speaker of the session. The event was organised to facilitate the learning  and  comprehending various aspects of societal issues in Supply Chain Management.85 MBA students benefited out of this event.

Orientation program

The department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management  organized an  orientation program for the II year students (25 students)  on 1.12.2021. Mr.P.Anand, Asst Professor gave welcome speech. Mr.C.Suresh Kumar, Head of the department addressed all the subject handling staff members and  informed about the importance of  discipline, rules and regulations of examination, Academic details(lesson plan), Syllabus, Attendance procedure,Departmental Activity for the even semester,(workshop and seminars).  Hand book lesson plan, time table, attendance log sheet will be given to the class representative .

Webinar on “Post –Covid Entrepreneurship opportunities in Vegan Cuisine”

    The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai, the Department of Hotel Management and Catering Science, GTN Arts College, Dindigul and the Department of Catering Science and Hotel Management, RVS College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore have jointly organized a webinar on “Post- Covid Entrepreneurship opportunities in Vegan Cuisine” on 30.11.21.  About fifty five students and seven faculty members from MC&HM department actively participated. Chef.K.Nageshwaran, Sous Chef cum Culinary Trainer, GRT Hotel & Resort, Executive Officer, SICA, addressed the students and explained that the term “vegan” was coined by combining the first and last letters of “vegetarian.” Dairy, eggs, or any other products from animal origin are not consumed. The vegan food consumers strongly believe that the plant-based diets may reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and premature death. Today most of the hotel organizations have started the vegan cuisine for all the vegetarian customers. This webinar motivated and encouraged the students’ community.
