Board of studies meeting

The Department of Fire and Industrial Safety Conducted Even semester Board of Studies on 17.11.2021 for B.Sc (Fire and Industrial Safety) and PG diploma in Fire and Industrial Safety for regular and weekend. The BoS meeting was chaired by Mr.I.Vivek Ramkumar Head of the department (Fire and Industrial Safety). Mr.A.Jaiveer Kumar Assistant professor jointly presented the drafted syllabus in the BoS Meeting. The University nominee, the Industrial expert, the academic expert, the Parent nominee, the Alumini, UG student and PG student shared their valuable suggestion regarding the syllabus. The main discussion by the University nominee, Industrial expert and the academic expert was about the recent fire case study, legal complaints and accident happened in the Industries. Finally the BoS meeting as completed in a successful manner for even semester.

CAREER COUNSELING ON CHEMICAL SAFETY

The Department of Fire and Industrial Safety has organized a one day Career counseling program through the Alumnus for 40 students of UG F&IS on 17/11/2021. Our College Alumnus Mr.V.Saravana Pandiyan (2018-21 Batch) Coordinator QHSE, Hindustan Technical Services, Chennai was the resource persons for the program. He shared his Industrial experience, the future of Chemical safety field and its job opportunities Safety in India and abroad. He also gave assurance for the internship and placement assistance. He also gave useful suggestion and ideas to the B.Sc., Fire and Industrial Safety students for the bright future. At the end of the program an interactive session was arranged for the I,II,III Year UG F&IS students and PG students who participated in the program. The students of F&IS and engineering graduates felt very happy for arranging such a useful Career guidance  program which helped them to build their Career for a bright future.

ISDC Orientation Programme for ACCA (UK) Course

An exclusive webinar on Orientation Program for ACCA (UK) course was held for the I year students of B.Com. (Hons) ACCA (2021-24 Batch), Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai. The programme was organized by the International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC), Bengaluru which was scheduled on 17th November 2021 at 5.15 pm. The Speaker of the Session, Mr. Arun Kashyap N B, Assistant Manager, Operations, International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC), Bengaluru presented the keynote address enlightening the students with various aspects of ACCA and its integration in the syllabus. He discussed different modules in the ACCA program like “Ethics and Professional Skills Module” while highlighting the key features. He projected a clear understanding of the Awards that can be won from ACCA on completion of papers. He also discussed about the Registration requirements and other documentation procedures that need to be followed. He also gave instructions regarding the examinations and the period within which they are conducted. He provided details about the fees and the mode of payment. He emphasised various ways through which the student can reach out to them and receive their full fledged guidance and support. The event concluded with an interactive question and answer session where in the students had actively participated and got their doubts clarified. Finally, our Head of the Department, Dr. D.Selvaraj expressed his gratitude towards the ISDC committee for their valuable time and energy to put forth such a knowledgeable and informative session. He further thanked them for their exemplary efforts in providing support to the students and help them reach great heights of success. A total of 22 students participated and got benefited in this program.

International Students’ Day Celebration

The International Students’ Day was observed on 17 November, 2021 at 2.00PM-4.20PM in F31.  The Program Started with Prayer song. The welcome address for the day was presented by I Year B.com B&I student Mr.Mahesh. The Principal Dr. Sujatha delivered the Presidential Address. The Vice Principal Dr. Archunan gave his felicitation and encouraged the students with his warm and motivating words. The Dean Dr. Priya explained the rules and regulations of the events to be conducted.

Ist Year B.com B&I student Ms.Krithika delivered the Vote of thanks, and the Program came to an end with the National Anthem.

CHILDREN’S DAY

  The Electoral Literacy Club of Subbalakshmi College of Science, Madurai celebrated  children’s day on 15/11/2021(Monday) at Hall No 201 in RLINS block. On this occasion,Mr. R. Sivasubramanian, AP /Mathematics delivered welcome address. Ms.Nisha lakshmi of I BBA delivered a speech about the importance and celebration of children’s day in the college.

Dr. Rajesh kumar,  HoD / BBA in his special address stressed the  purpose of celebrating and he also motivated the students to achieve great things in their life. Mr. V.V. Sundaram who is the Coordinator of the club explained the nature of the children and teenagers and he briefed the  relevance of both childhood and adulthood. Dr.B.  Meenakshisundaram Asst Prof, Department of BBA shared his personal experience and emphasized the importance of remaining truthful in teaching profession as it creates a greater level of impact among the students. Mr. Vivek Ramkumar HoD F & IS stated that all the children should be treated with dignity as they are the future pillars of the nation. Staff members from various department took part and graced the event with their immense presence.

Marketing Communications for Corporate Image Building

The program “Marketing Communications for Corporate Image Building” was organised by the “Lakshya” Department Association of MBA Program on 13th Nov 2021 at 11.30 am in  MBA Classroom through Google Meet. The key note speaker was Dr Ruchika Jeswal, Professor (Marketing), Amity School of Business, Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The event was organised to facilitate the learning and comprehending various aspects of marketing communications for corporate image building.83 MBA students benefited out of this event.

The Entrepreneurial Journey of Innovation

The program “The Entrepreneurial Journey of Innovation” was organised by the “Lakshya” department Association of  MBA Program on 11th Nov 2021, at 11.30 am in the  Auditorium, Main Building. Mr Vivek Sabaapathy, MD, RS Pathy Naturo Pvt Ltd, Madurai was the chief guest and delivered the key note address. The event was organised to facilitate the learning and comprehending various aspects of entrepreneurship and innovation.98 MBA students benefited out of this event.

Parents Teacher Meeting

The Department of Animation conducted the Parents Teacher Meeting for the II & III Year Animation students on 10.11.2021 (Wednesday) between 03.00pm and 04.00pm.  Mr. P. Kishore Kumar, Head i/c cum Assistant Professor welcomed the gathering with welcome address. The main objective of the meeting was to create a common platform, where teachers and parents come together to discuss student’s performance and devise ways to enrich their learning experience. The Parents were informed about the Academic Performance of the Students (Course wise) in the Continuous Internal Assessment – II (2021-22 odd semester). They also informed regarding the Attendance and the Status of the Assignment submissions of individual student.  Parents were encouraged to appreciate student’s participation in all academic activities. The PTM came to an end with the conclusion that the progress and development of the students depend on the joint efforts of parents and teachers. The Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. S. Praveen Kumar, Instructor of the Department. The Feedback was collected through Google Form.

The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management conducted an Online Board of Studies Meeting on 10.11.2021 at 11.30 a.m. Dr. R.Kannan, Ph.D, Professor & Research Guide, Centre for Tourism and Hotel Management, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, represented as the University Nominee, Mr.K. Shaji. Principal, Oriental college of Hotel management and culinary Arts, Kannadichola Thaimalaroad Vythiri, Kerala , represented  as the  Academic Expert, Mr.Ranjith , Assistant Professor, Dept of French, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai was the special invitee for French Language, Mr. Mr.Nandakumar.G,General Manager, Thapovan Resort, kodaikanal represented as the Industrial Expert, Mr.Kesavamoorthi,  participated as an Alumni,  Mr. C. Sureshkumar, Head of the Department  represented as the Chairperson. The Department Faculty members, a Parent and a Student participated as members in the Board of Studies Meeting and gave their valid feedback and recommendations for framing the syllabus for the academic year 2021-22 even semester.
