INFOTAINMENT 2K16

The Department of IT & Networking conducted Interdepartmental Meet, INFOTAINMENT 2K16 on 05.02.2016.The meet was organised by III Year IT students. The session was started with the prayer song.Ms.G.Niranchani of III B.Sc IT welcomed the gathering. Our Principal Dr.R.L.Ramnath, Inaugurated the meet with his wonderful speech. The Head of the Department Mr.C.Ranjith Kumar introduced the   guest of Honour Ms.R.Shanmuga priya, Territory Officer, Purple Tree Pvt Ltd, Coimbatore. Our Chief Guest delivered a motivational speech with real time examples .The students had interactive session with Ms.R.Shanmugapriya and they also cleared their doubts.

The session was continued by various events for IT & Networking students. The students in 7 teams such as Technology Emperors , Hunters, Ultimate Innovators, Phoenix, I Tech Warriors, Flying Tigers, Mad genius participated in events like Brochure Depiction (Prospectus Creation), Craft from Scrap (Art from Waste), Astute? (Quiz), Tech Jargon (Paper Presentation), Quotidian Wisdom (MobiQuiz), Mummery (Miming), Hawker (Software Marketing).The students exposed their talents and got prizes for the events. The overall runner is Flying Tigers and the Winner is Ultimate Innovators. The vote of thanks was given by Mr.Mahendran, III B.Sc IT and the meet ended with the National Anthem.

21st Annual Sports Day

21st Annual Sports Meet held at Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science on 30th January 2016. The Chief Guest Mr.P.Ganesan, an Arjuna Awardee Sports Officer TNEB declared to open the Sports Meet. The students performed the March Past and lighted the Olympic Lamp. The field events 400 mts (Men), 4×100 mts relay (Women) and 4×100 mts relay (Men) were conducted on the day. Other events like Yoga, Lezium, karathe and Silambam were performed by our students. Ms.Ramitaa of I Animation welcomed the gathering. Dr.R.L.Ramnath, Principal SLCS gave his encouraging presidential address. Dr.S.Rajasekar, Director RLIMS delivered his motivating felicitation address. Mr.R.Thanga Muthu, Physical Director presented his successful Annual Report. Ms.M.A.Surya of I MBA introduced the Chief Guest by highlighting his achievements. Our Chief Guest Mr.P.Ganesan, shared his secret of success by his Chief Guest address. The Chief Guest and all the dignitaries distributed the prizes to all the winners. The overall championship was won by the Challengers team with 136 points. The sports secretary Mr.P.Saravana Kumar of I MBA thanked the gathering with his vote of thanks.

“Contemporary Television Media” – Seminar

A Seminar on “Contemporary Television Media” was organized by the Department of Film and Television Production, at Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science on 18th December 2015. Mr. Ramesh Kumar, News Editor, Dinamalar was invited as Chief Guest. The students of B.Sc. Film and Television production presented the report on recent trends of Indian news television and the strength and uniqueness of leading Journalists who achieved in the field of Journalism. The presentation was reviewed and appreciated by the chief guest. News ethics, interview techniques and various news perspectives were shared by the chief guest. The event was presided by the Principal. Director of RLIMS, Head of the Department, and staff members were participated.

Eco – Expo

As a part of the Environmental Awareness month, an Exhibition on “Environmental Awareness and Protection” was organized on 17.12.2015. The students of B.Com First Year, Second Year and Final Year were the exhibitors. Mrs. V. Padmavathy – Head of the Department of Commerce welcomed the gathering. The Theme Speech on “Eco Expo” was given by Asst. Prof. Mr. D. Abraham Pradeep. Dr. R.L. Ramnath, Principal SLCS, delivered the Key Note Address and distributed the prizes to the ‘Mod Art’ and ‘Rangoli’ Winners. Mr. P. Senthil Kumaran, Head of the Department of Tamil and Mrs. R. Suganthi Hepzibah, Head of the Department of English were the Judges. Asst. Prof. Mr. R. Sundareswaran delivered the Vote of Thanks.

Workshop on Mobile Apps Development

On behalf of Department of Computer Science, Techglorians Association had arranged for two days workshop on “Mobile Apps Development” held on 14.12.15 & 15.12.15. Mr.M.SenthilKumar, Sr.Research Engineer, Qualcomm Bangalore, was the trainer for the workshop. Students were given training on developing their own mobile app like whatsapp. Students were given clear idea about Angular JS, HTML, CSS. At the end of session students were able to create their own app. They were very interested in such work shop.

Fashion Photography Seminar

A Seminar cum workshop was on “Fashion Photography” was organized by the department of Film and Television Production on December 15, 2015. The renowned and better photography magazine recognized fashion photographer Sakthidasan had conducted the workshop. The students are given due exposure on Fashion photography, Ad photography and Product Photography.  Selection of Model, gesture, poses, use of property and lighting techniques with the similarity of paintings were shared by the guest.

ISO Training Programme

ISO Training Programme was conducted in Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, on 11th December 2015 at the Board Room. Our respected guest Dr.C.S. Balasubramaniam, Retired Joint General Manager (Technical & Engineering), Madras Fertilizers Limited, Chennai, The Lead Auditor of QMS, EMS, OHSMS, SCSMS & EnMS addresses and gave the training to the ISO coordinators.
The honourable President Dr.R.Lakshmipathy, the Principals of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science,  R L Institute of Nautical Sciences and Krishnammal Ramasubbaiyer School, the Head Department and ISO coordinators of Animation, Commerce, Computer Science, Film and Television Production, Information Technology, Networking and Maritime Hospitality Studies were presented in the Training Programme.
Dr.C.S. Balasubramaniam explained the members present about the Quality Management System, Principles of QMS, Benefits of ISO 9001, PDCA cycle – Plan Do Check Act (Operating Principle of all ISO’s Management System Ltd), Benefits of QMS in Organisation, Types of ISO Processes and ISO 9001 clauses. The queries raised by the coordinators were cleared and the ISO Training Programme winded in a gentle manner.

Inter Department Meet –Boot Up 2015

On behalf of Department of Computer Science, Techglorian Association had conducted Inter Department meet “Boot Up-2015”. The objective of the meet is to make cordial relationship between the students. Students participated in various events as a team. Students of III B.Sc CS organized the function. Students from I & II B.Sc CS participated in various events such as Quiz, Paper Presentation, Debugging, Marketing, Web Designing and Poster Presentation as a team. This function was held on 11.12.15. Dr.R.L.Ramnath presided over the function and he advised the students to use the opportunities.

Tree Plantation Programme

Tree Plantation Programme was organized on 04.12.2015. The students of B.Com First Year, Second Year and Final Year were the participants. Dr. R.L. Ramnath – Principal, SLCS delivered the Welcome Address. Dr. R. Lakshmipathy – President of SLF and Publisher of Dinamalar presided over the function. Mr. M. Subramanian, Principal – RLINS, Dr. S. Rajasekar, Director – RLIMS and Dr. S. Pugalenthi, Deputy Director – RLIMS and the students planted 200 Neem trees in our college campus. Mrs. V. Padmavathy – Head of the Department of Commerce delivered the Vote of Thanks. Asst. Prof : Mr. Sundareswaran and Asst. Prof: Mr. D. Abraham Pradeep co-ordinated the programme

Language Expo

The Second Year Students from the department of IT & Networking conducted Language Expo on 03.12.2015 as a part of Campus Recruitment Training. The session was presided over by our honourable Principal Dr.R.L.Ramnath and it is inaugurated by the Head of the department IT & Networking,Mr.C.Ranjith Kumar.The Expo was organised by Mr.Ananda Kumar,CRT Trainer.The students explained about Indo European languages and Dravidian Languages.The student in teams presented about the languages.The teams participated are Ultimate Innovators ,Phoenix,King of Pigeons,Blashing Sunburns and Dominion Dominators.
