Value Added Course

The Department of Computer Science (SSS) conducted a value added courses on “Python Programming” for III year CS students and “Security Fundamentals” for II year CS students from 22.07.2019 to 30.07.2019.

Mr.Naga Kumar, COE, Metrolab, Hyderabad was trainer. The students were trained with the basics of python programming. The training was given to the second year students on the following topics, Operating System Security, Security Layer, Network Security and Security Softwares. The hands-on session was very helpful to the students to appear for MTA examinations in Python Programming and Security Fundamentals. The students were trained with scenario based exercises and assignments, which was helpful for the students to appear for Microsoft International Certifications. On 30.07.2019, the students attended Certification examination through online.

MoU Signing

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai and Gateway Devspark IT Solutions, Hyderabad on 30.07.2019 at President Office, SLCS. Our Honorable President Dr.R.Lakshmipathy and Mr.Nagakumar, Managing
Director, Devspark IT Solutions, Hyderabad were the chief guest. Mrs.N.Anuradha, Head, Dept. of CS coordinated the program. The faculty members of the department of CS were also participated. The purpose of the memorandum of understanding is to ensure research & projects to the students of Computer Science and share the knowledge and skills available in both organizations. Through this MoU, activities such as Value Added Courses, Seminars, Workshops, Internship on various recent technologies were planned for execution.

FOSTAC Food Safety Training

The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management faculty members attended a one day workshop on “Food safety training & certification offered by FOSTAC organized by “IDHAYAM PARIKSHAN & TAMILNADU BAKERY FEDERATION” on 29.07.2019 at VIRUDHUNAGAR.

Three faculty members participated in this workshop and the Chief Guest Dr.PASUPATHI has given wonderful session related to various aspects in food safety

22nd Graduation Day

Subbalakshmi  Lakshmipathi College of Science  and  R L Institute of Management Studies, Madurai organized its 22nd Graduation Day on 28th July 2019. Dr.B.Ramamoorthy, Principal welcomed the gathering. Mr.Lakshmi Narayanan, Emeritus Vice Chairman, Cognizant was the Chief Guest. In his speech, he mentioned that the job oriented courses offered by the college would immediately provide job to the students. He emphasized the students that curiosity towards education leads to success. Each and every Graduates should be disciplined which helps them to build their career and to create their talents.

Dr.R.Lakshmipathy, President of the college insisted the motto of the College ‘Learning for Better Living’. He reinforced that an Employer looks beyond the Degree Certificate that an Employee holds. He urged the Graduates to learn as much as language he could learn.

Netkings Association

On 27th July 2019, Department of Networking organized “NET KINGS”-ASSOCIATION MEET 2019 for networking students. The session was started with the prayer song. Welcome speech was given by Lakshmipriya – II B.SC Networking. Mr. B.Nagkumar, Managing Director, Devspark, Hyderabad was invited as a chief guest. The Chief Guest briefed the current technologies prevailing in networking field for the students. Mr. M. Athigopal, Head of Department of Networking welcomed the guest and gave an introduction about the Association Meet 2019.

A vote of thanks was delivered by Poornasundaresan II B.SC Networking and the program was successfully completed.

EXTENSION ACTIVITY ON BASIC FIRST AID & BASIC FIRE SAFETY

The Department of Fire and Industrial Safety has organized an Extension Activity at Froebel Matric Hr. Sec. School, Aviyur on 26/07/2019. Our Department HOD and III year Students have presented the PPT, delivered the speech about Basic First Aid & Basic Fire Safety and Domestic Safety and gives a demonstrate how to operate the Fire Extinguishers while emergency time to the students, teachers and non-teaching staffs.

We have conducted the program in terms of the strategies they wanted to adopt and to create awareness on the day – to – day activities related to Safety issues. Our program was successful in creating awareness to the students and staffs on Basic Fire Safety and Domestic Safety as well as we received a very good appreciation feedback from them.

Field Visit to Alagar Kovil

A study cum field visit was arranged for the 1st Year Animation students to Alagarkovil on 25.07.2019 to enhance their knowledge in Drawing skills and Photography. Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, H.O.D – Animation, Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, Coordinator – Animation, Mr.P.Kishore Kumar, Instructor – Animation, Mrs.N.Selvi, Assistant Professor – Department of Tamil accompanied the 46 Students. Students were taught the nuances of Photography and Drawing by the staff members. They practices drawing and sketched live portraits.

Music Production workshop

Department of Visual Communication organized a two day Music production Workshop on 24/07/2019 and 25/07/2019 for B.Sc 3rd Year students.

The workshop was conducted by Mr.Vaangal Manikandan, a renowned Music composer. He gave lecture on the basics of music production, composing and mixing. The students learned devotedly.  A song was composed by the guest and students for music production project.
