Objective(s) of the activity:
v The prime objective of the rally is to empower women and spread awareness on women’s safety. v To create awareness about the importance of women’s education. v To spread awareness about increasing women harassment. |

Key Highlights:
v ‘An Awareness Rally on Women Safety and Welfare’ was organized by Department of Commerce (B&I) and Vishaka Committee of SLCS. v The rally carried out at Nedumadurai Village. v Totally, 60 students from III B.Com (Banking and Insurance) participated in the rally with posters and placards with messages about women safety and importance of women education slogans. v On behalf of Vishaka Committee Mrs. N Selvi, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Tamil and Ms. S. Neela, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Hindi handled the session on Women Safety and Welfare for the students of III B.Com (Banking and Insurance). v Students insisted that women have the right to be free from violence, harassment and discrimination and removing the barriers of an unsafe environment. |

Outcome(s) of the activity:
ü The beneficiaries (Village People) had awareness on Women Safety, Welfare and also on Women Education. ü The village people in and around Nedumadurai village appreciated the students about the rally on Women Safety and Welfare. ü This program helped to fulfill the potential as individuals and contributors for communities and economies among the students. |

OUTREACH PROGRAMME ON “ART THERAPY” AT ADAIKALAM OLD AGE HOME, THIRUNAGAR
D. P. Roy Choudhury Association, Department of Animation, organized an outreach programme on “Art Therapy” at Adaikalam Old Age Home, Thirunagar, on 22.07.2022 at 02.00 p.m. Mr. Vishwa, Founder of the Old Age Home, welcomed the gathering. The Students from II & III years actively performed and showed their talents like, Singing, Dancing, Playing Music Instruments, etc. The senior citizens were admired by the students’ talent. The dejected parents over there were happy to say that the students’ talent made them forget their pain. The students learnt how to take care of their parents as well as to help the needy as a way of life. The program ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. M. Abdul Aziz Hakkim, Asst. prof., Dept of Animation. Mr. N. Naveendra Kumar, Instructor, Dept of Animation, made all the arrangements.
Totally, 10 students & 50 old age people got benefitted through this program.

Department of Food Science and Processing Management organized an Outreach Program (SLCS Samaaj Seva) through “Motivational Talk on Directions for Getting a Start-up Loan” on 21.07.2022 at Thirumangalam. Totally, 13 students of III Year FSPM briefly emphasized the importance, scope, types of start-up and also counseled the entrepreneurs on the value of numerous schemes, loans funding support and incentives. Finally, entrepreneurs were motivated to start-up in food and health care products. Totally 15 members got benefited through this outreach program.

Key Highlights:
An orientation program was conducted for final year students at the beginning of the Academic Year 2022-23(odd semester). The main purpose of this orientation program was to give the students a detailed instruction of the curriculum, course handling staff members and the importance of discipline, rules and regulations of examination, Academic details (lesson plan), Syllabus, Attendance procedure, Departmental activities for the odd semester,(workshop and seminars). Hand book, time table and attendance related information was given to the students.The orientation program commenced with an address by Mr.C.Suresh Kumar Head, Dept. of MC&HM and followed by all the faculty members. |

Key Highlights:
Kamaraj Ji’s birth anniversary is observed as Tamil Nadu’s Educational Development Day. The day aims to remind people about his contribution to boost the school education facilities of Tamil Nadu. On 18.7.22 as part of this commemoration, the Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management conducted an “Educational Development Day” Celebration to raise awareness on education among the school children at Nedumadurai. Mr. K. Perumalkannan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management, addressed the students about every entity, from an individual to the entire civilization, to expand and change. Developing knowledge and skills is highly important in order to assist progress. Therefore, education is a crucial element that supports, propels and progresses on every level. At the end of the program the School staff and Head master appreciated the efforts made by the students and the staff members. |

Seminar on Kanavu Meipada On 15.07.2022
Department of Languages & Extra Curricular Activities Committee organized a seminar on the program “KANAVU MEIPPADA” for students on 15.07.2022 at 11a.m in the college auditorium. The objective of this program is to motivate the students in the aspects of career growth and enrich the skills through the curriculum. The Chair Person of the seminar is Mrs. Bharathi Sathyanarayanan, a motivational speaker. She insisted the students to improve their reading habits, discipline and to respect the parents. The Principal headed the program. Dr.K.Archunan Vice principal and Dr.S.priya Dean Academics have made the program a successful one. Totally,199 students and 9 faculty members participated in the program. Students enjoyed a lot and made the day a memorable one.
ACADEMIC & ADMINISTRATIVE AUDIT (AAA)
The IQAC of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science organized Academic & Administrative Audit (AAA) for the Academic Year 2021-22 on 15.07.2022 (Friday). Major. Dr. N. Arun Nagendran, Associate Professor of Zoology, Former IQAC Coordinator, Thiagarajar College, Madurai was invited as the resource person for auditing the files.
The Audit was started by 08.50 am. The resource person visited all the departments. He audited the files and many questions were raised by the resource person to the faculty members regarding the files.
He shared many valuable suggestions and recommendations about the files maintained in the departments. He also appreciated few departments for the work and achievements done by the faculty and the students.
SEMINAR ON “QUALITY MANAGEMENT IN HEIs”
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science conducted a Seminar on “Quality Management in HEIs” on 15.07.2022. Major. Dr. N. Arun Nagendran, Associate Professor of Zoology, Former IQAC Coordinator, Thiagarajar College, Madurai, was invited as the resource person for the seminar.
IQAC Coordinator Dr. M. R. Sumathi delivered and introduced the resource person to the forum. The Principal Dr. R. Sujatha, the Vice Principal Dr. K. Archunan and the Dean – Academics Dr. S. Priya honored the session through their presence.
The resource person shared about the quality management that to be followed in the Higher Education Institutions. He insisted the members to give correct and complete data while compiling the SSR. He reiterated that the quality of the institution also lies in the grade given by the NAAC. So, high concentration and complete understanding should be given while preparing it.
The session was really an eye-opener to all the participants. Totally 36 faculty members attended the session. The IQAC Assistant Coordinator Mrs.R.Suganthi Hepzibha proposed the Vote of Thanks.
