“Intra College Webinar Series – Kadhaipoma”

The “DP Roy Choudhury Association” and “Art & Media Club” of the Department of Animation organized an Intra College webinar series associated with “Internal Quality Assurance Cell” of our college, titled “Kadhaipoma”. The first session “Kadhaipoma – Live Technical Session on Concept Art” was conducted on 06.07.2020, Monday during 10:30 A.M to 11:30 A.M using Google Meet. Mr. Sathish Kumar, Freelance Concept Artist, Bangalore, our Alumni (2011-14 Batch) with experience in film and game companies such as Technicolor, Ubisoft. Mr.P.Kishore Kumar, Instructor, delivered the Welcome Address. Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, Coordinator, Introduced the Chief Guest and delivered the keynote address about the webinar. Our chief guest Mr. Sathish Kumar shared his industry experiences and showed a demo on Concept Art and answered all the questions of our students technically. Ms.Swetha, I Animation proposed the Vote of Thanks. Totally 100 Animation students of I & II year attended the session and gave positive feedback about the session.

A national level webinar on “Entrepreneurship” was conducted on 04^th July 2020, from 11.00 am onwards. The resource person is Mr Aditya Gupta, MD, Silver Arrow Logistics, Chennai. An alumnus of RLIMS 2006-08 batch.

The first session “Kadhaipoma – Non-Linear Editing and DI in Feature Film”was conducted on 02.07.2020, Thursday during 10:30 A.M to 11:30 A.M using Google Meet.Mr. Boopathi Selvaraj, Cinematographer, Editor & Colorist who worked in successful movies such as “comali”, “Oh My kadavule” and “Velvet Nagaram” was the Guest Speaker. Mr.P.Kishore Kumar, Instructor, delivered the Welcome Address. Dr.R.Sujatha, Principal, delivered the Presidential Address. Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, Coordinator, Introduced the Chief Guest and delivered the keynote address about the webinar. Our chief guest Mr.Boopathi Selvaraj, shared his industry experiences and answered all the questions of our students technically.Mr.M.Abdul Aziz Hakkim, Instructor proposed the Vote of Thanks. Totally 150 students from various departments of our college attended the session and gave positive feedback about the session.

Awareness and Prevention of COVID 19

The Eco Club of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai conducted a National level online quiz programme on “Awareness and Prevention of COVID 19. The quiz was conducted from 06-06-2020 to 30-06-2020. The E-certificates were distributed to the participants who scored more than 40 per cent. This quiz consisted of 10 important basic questions on how to fight COVID 19. 385 participants took part in it and got their certificates.

Online Seminar on “The joy of giving during Covid’19”

ZEAL, BBA Association of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized an Online Seminar, “The joy of giving during Covid’19” on 27.06.2020. Ms.N.Sharmila, Social Activist & Coordinator – BOOM Welfare Community Trust,Madurai was the resource person. Various ways and means of helping the community during the Covid’19 pandemic through volunteering and active participation in extension activities were explained in detail. WEBINAR ON NEW TECH CAMERAS

The Department of Visual Communication conducted a webinar on New Tech Cameras for the students on 22.06.2020. A total number of 79 students participated in this event. Mr. Rajavardhan, Instructor, inaugurated the session at 10.30 am and spoke about the College and the Department of Visual Communication. Mr. Senthil Kumar and Prabhu Mohan, Chief Guests of the day gave lectures on camera and provided career counseling about the job opportunities available. Mr. Babu Shajan Kevin, Assistant Professor delivered the key note address. Mr. Sivarajan, proposed the vote of thanks and the function concluded with the National Anthem.

The Eyes Never Sleep in the Camera World was the topic for the session. Mr. Senthil Kumar gave an elaborate lecture about the camera industry and on the new technology. Mr. Prabhu Mohan gave hands – on practice in operating the camera to the students, who eagerly participated. They were enthusiastically focused and asked many technical questions. The program was a grand success with the students, emphasizing for many more such webinars.

The Eco Club of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai conducted a drawing competition on “Green Environment” to celebrate World Environment Day. The Competition was conducted on 19-06-2020 for the students of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science. The E certificates were distributed to all the participants. Totally 18 students participated.

ZEAL, BBA Association of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized an Online Seminar, “Exceeding Excellence through Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)” on 20.05.2020. Mr.G.Ramasubramanian, Director & Head (Training), Excel HR, Chennai, the resource person expounded the basic techniques and concepts of NLP and the strategies of adopting NLP techniques to achieve excellence in life and career with appropriate examples.

Online Seminar on “Registration and protection of trademarks & patents”

ZEAL, BBA Association of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized an Online Seminar, “Registration and Protection of Trademarks & Patents” on 13.05.2020. Mr.J.K.Muthu, Managing Director, Kamalam Group, Madurai & Chairman, Digitall, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce was the resource person. He elucidated on the need for conversion of brand name into trademarks and the various forms of trademarks with appropriate examples for easy understanding. The means and ways of developing and registering patents were also discussed. Students actively participated and interacted with the resource person.

Glowing Star Chef Competitions -2020

Two second year students of Marine Catering and Hotel Management, Mr.K.Jagadesh and Mr.R.Viswam , participated in “Glowing Star Chef Competitions” conducted online by Alfaa Catering College, Madurai on 14.6.2020. They actively participated in various competitions like Parambariya Samayal, No Fire Cooking, Steam Cooking, Vegetable & Fruit Carving and Homemade Cooking. Mr.K.Jagadesh, won the first prize in the Steam Cooking competition and received the Star Chef Award with Rs.1000 Cash Prize.Mr.R.Viswam got the Participation Certificate in Vegetable and Fruit Carving Competition.This motivated and encouraged the students and also made it a memorable experience.
