PARENTS- TEACHERS MEETING
The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management organized a Parents- Teachers Meeting on 16.4.2021 at 2.00 P.M, for the students of first, second and third years , through Online Mode. The meeting was organized under the guidance of Mr.C.Suresh Kumar, Head and Mr. K.Perumal Kannan, PTA coordinator, the members of faculty and parents of MC&HM students attended the meeting. While integrating with the faculty the teachers have explained their wards about internal & semester examination marks, levels of participation, behavior in class, and their views on the respective students.
Guest lecture on “FSSAI Regulation for Fish and Seafood Processing’’
The Department of Food Science and Processing Management conducted an online Guest lecture on “FSSAI Regulation for Fish and Seafood Processing’’ on 12-04-2021 between 10.00 am and 11.30 am.
The virtual programme which was conducted through the link- http://meet.google.com/lookup/c35zvmbx5/authusr=O&hs=179, was inaugurated by Mrs.M.Venkatasubbulakshmi, Assistant Professor, Dept of FSPM. Ms. M. Velammal, Quality Assurance Executive, Rebel Food, Chennai delivered the lecture about the FSSAI regulation for fish and sea food products. Totally 24 students from our department participated. At the end of the session, students clarified their doubts with the expert. Feedback was collected from the students and the analysis showed that most of them were highly satisfied.
Guest lecture on “History and Theme of World Health Day’’
To commemorate “World Health Day – 7th April”, the Department of Food Science and Processing Management organized an online guest lecture on “ History and Theme of World Health Day’’ on 07-04-2021 between 10am and 11 am through the link –https://meet.google.com/lookup/c4xdoftw7s. The programme was inagurated by Mrs.M.Venkatasubbulakshmi, Assistant Professor, Dept of FSPM. 38 students belongs to our department participated in the program. A special lecture about the healthy food for all the people was given by Dr.A.Gowrimeenal, Assistant Professor, Dept. of FSPM. The main aim of this program was to enlighten the students about the spirit of the World Health Day. At the end of the session feedback was collected from the students and the analysis showed that most of them were highly satisfied with this programme.
Poshan Pakhwada
The Red Ribbon Club of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of science instructed its volunteers as per the directions of the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD) to act as “Poshan Monitor” making home visits to spread the message of the first 1,000 days whether the child is affected by Anemia, Diarrhea and importance of Hand Wash & Sanitation and Paushtik Aahar (Wholesome meal with diet diversity). The volunteers have mobilized the communities during the Poshan Pakhwada from 15th to 31st March, 2021. The Red Ribbon Club Volunteers have been utilised instead of National Service Scheme Volunteers. Due to the Pandamic, limited volunteers were assigned the tasks on 31st March 2021. 5 Pregnant women were benefited through this programme.
An Online Awareness Programme on “Intellectual Property Rights” (IPR)
Mr.C.Suresh Kumar, Head of the Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management, attended a virtual one day awareness programme on “INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS (IPR)” organized by the “Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises” Foundry Nagar, Agra-282 006 (Uttar Pradesh.) on 30.03.2021 . The resource persons discussed the legal rights that protect creations and/or inventions resulting from intellectual activity in the industrial, scientific, literary and artistic fields. They also expounded on patent rights and trademark registration.
Workshop on “Rural Entrepreneurship and Business Plan Preparation”
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell and the Women empowerment cell jointly conducted a one day workshop on Rural Entrepreneurship and Business Plan Preparation on 30.03.2021. The Chief Guest of the workshop Prof. Chethan Babu Chittalkar, Director Rural Management, MGNCRE and Mrs. Ankita Roy, Program Manager, MGNCRE .The workshop aims at Rural Entrepreneurship and the way of business plan preparation.Totally 53 students participated in the event. Professor, Chethan Babu Chittalkar, Director, Rural Management, MGNCRE and Mrs.Ankita Roi, Programme Manager, MGNCRE were the guest speakers for the workshop.
Yoga Club – Demonstration of Prone and Supine Asanas postures in Yoga
Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science has conducted an activity in the Yoga Club on 30.03.2021 for the Yoga club students. Mr.P.Thangamuthu, Coordinator Yoga club, has recalled the previous activities.The club students performed Vajrasana, Sukhasana, Bhujangasana, Dhanurasana, Halasana, Matsyasana, and Savasana. Students also learnt about the prone and supine Asanas posture. Totally 60 students participated in the activity of Yoga club.
HEALTH and NUTRITION CLUB-Eat Right Live Strong
Health & Nutrition club of the department of Food Science and Processing Management conducted an event- Poster making entitled “Eat Right Live Strong” for the Second year club students on 30th March between 3.00 pm to 3.50 pm. The main motto of this activity is to create awareness among the adolescents in the right path to choose and eat healthy foods. The club coordinator gave a brief orientation about the activity. Around 20 students enthusiastically participated in the event.
TECHIE QUEST CLUB
The department of Computer Science (Security System Specialization) conducted an activity for the Techie Quest club on 30th March, 2021 for the academic year 2020-21 Even semester, through Google Meet and Google Classroom from 3.00 PM to 3.50 PM. Second year students from various departments participated in the club activity.
The session started with the welcome address, which was given by Mrs.J.Varalakshmi, Assistant Professor and Event Coordinator, Dept. of CS. She, also, delivered the felicitation address and shared many concepts regarding the importance of innovations and the latest technology in the field of Computer Science. She encouraged the students to actively participate in club activities and develop their skills in their domain of interest.
Mr.R.Sudharson Prabhu of II Year CS(SSS) delivered a presentation on “Ethical Hacking Basic Concepts”. This session was useful to the students as they understood the fundamentals of Cyber Security. They also learned online websites for mastering ethical hacking and how to earn by finding bugs in websites through online. The session ended with Mrs.J.Varalakshmi, AP of CS proposing the vote of thanks.
