On 22.09.2021, alumni of Networking Department, Mr.S. ArulHendry, Mr.K.Lingeswaran and Mr.M.Thangapandi (Batch: 2017 – 2020), Recruiting Analyst, Accenture Pvt Ltd, Chennai interacted with our students of III B.Sc Networking. They enlightened the students on the skills required to become a server administrator and also Cloud Solution Architect. They advised the students to complete certification courses and also insisted to prepare for the interview during the college days itself. They enlightened the students on current IT technologies and availability of job opportunities in IT & Networking domains. The resource persons also shared their views on the recruitment process in Accenture. Overall 24 students got benefitted and clarified their queries during this interactive session.
PARENTS TEACHERS MEETING
Department of Commerce (Honours and ACCA) of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai, conducted Parents-Teachers Association Meeting held at Hall No.104 of RLINS block on 22.09.2021 between 11.00 am and 12.30 pm. There was a discussion with the parents on the academic performance of the students and their performance in the first internal examination. Students were motivated to improve their performance in upcoming internal test. Students were asked to maintain discipline, neat dress codes and properly groom hair. Parents were highly satisfied with the response related to their queries.
OUT DOOR CATERING (ODC) at Madurai Drive Inn Restaurant
The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management has sent 15 students from II and III year for ODC programme at Madurai Drive Inn restaurant from 17.9.21 to 19.9.21. It was a great platform for the students to gain knowledge about special event decoration, F&B service methods and setting of table, buffet, pantry arrangement. This opportunity motivated and gave hands-on experience to the students.
COVID Vaccination Camp
National Service Scheme (Unit 105) and Youth Red Cross of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai conducted a vaccination camp entitled ‘COVID Free India’ for Teachers, Staff members and students. It was held at Valayankulam Primary Health Center, Madurai. 248 people were benefited and an awareness about vaccination had been created among general public. Of total members who got vaccination 203 people got their both dose I and dose II. The camp was conducted on the following dates:

Workshop on Game Publishing
The II & III year students and faculty team of Animation Department attended a workshop on “Game Publishing Tips and Tricks” on 18.09.2021, Saturday between 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM through the Google meet. The workshop was organized by IMSK, Chennai. The workshop provided the students with the “Tips and Tricks of Game publishing” in the industry. The trainer of the workshop was Mr.Deepak Gurijala, Street lamp games. The Students took part very actively in the programme and all the students gave positive feedback. Totally 75 students and 5 faculties participated in the workshop.
Training program on “5S practices”
ZEAL, BBA Association of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized a training program on “5S practices” on 18.09.2021 for front line employees and supervisors of Ruby Food Products Private Limited, Madurai. Dr.B.Meenakshi Sundaram, AP – BBA was the resource person. He explained in detail the various strategies and processes needed for 5S training. The participants found the training program to be very lively and interesting. A total of 16 employees participated and got benefited in this program.
Media Support-Rasika Ranjana Sabha
The students of Visual Communication and the staff members of attended the Drama ‘Paandavi’conducted by Rasika Ranjana Sabha on 17-09-2021 at Tamil Isai Sangam, Madurai. The students captured full video coverage, edited the video and delivered it to them . They were fascinated by the quality of the video coverage and editing. Rasika Ranjana Sabha appreciated Department of Visual Communication for their contribution.
HINDI DAY CELEBRATION
The department of Hindi celebrated the Hindi Day on 16.09.2021 in the Animation Lab. Mrs. S. Neela, Assistant Professor of Hindi headed the celebration. Many students actively participated in this program. The students were motivated to learn Hindi and the importance of the language was shared by Mrs.S.Neela.
Mrs.R.Sailakshmi, Assistant Professor of Tamil expressed her views on benefits of knowing many languages and Mrs. H. Geetha, Assistant Professor of Tamil, delivered a speech of knowing the importance learning Hindi.
The students were given around 50 phrases in English and in Hindi. They were given time to read it and later few questions were asked during the program. Totally 60 students participated from different departments and got benefitted through this program.

On 14th September, 2021, a Guest Lecture on “The International Day of Sign Languages” was organized by the Department of English. The UN General Assembly has proclaimed 23 September as the International Day of Sign Languages in order to raise awareness of the importance of sign language in the full realization of the human rights of people who are deaf, the department of Languages due to the Internal test conducted the session earlier.
During the session Mrs.R.Suganthi Hepzibha shared about the Sign languages which are fully fledged natural languages, structurally distinct from the spoken languages. She also insisted that there is also an international sign language, which is used by deaf people in international meetings and informally when travelling and socializing. It is considered a pidgin form of sign language that is not as complex as natural sign languages and has a limited lexicon.
The theme for 2021 International Day of Sign languages is “We Sign for Human Rights”, which aims to show how both deaf and hearing impaired people worldwide can unite to advocate for the recognition of the right to use sign languages in all areas was reiterated to the students.
According to the World Federation of the Deaf, there are approximately 72 million deaf people worldwide. More than 80% of them live in developing countries. Collectively, they use more than 300 different sign languages. Totally 42 III year Animation students attended the session and got benefitted about the Sign Languages.
