Awareness Programme on “Consumption of low cost nutritious foods”

FAGAS, an Association of the Department of Food Science and Processing Management, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai, in association with the NSS Unit and IQAC of the college organized an extension activity on “Creating awareness on consumption of low cost nutritious foods” on 28.09.2021.  The students of FSPM and NSS conducted a survey among the rural people and concluded that there was a minimum intake of millets and pulses in their daily dietary pattern.  Ms. R. Gunalini student of III BSc FSPM enumerated the overall benefits of using millets and pulses in day today life. Finally to create awareness we provided Green gram incorporated ragi laddu to all the participants. Totally 50 people residing at Nedumadurai village got benefited through this extension activity.
