              Cuentas, an Association of the Department of B.Com (B&I), organized a Seminar on Government schemes through banking sector in India   on 31.03.2022  for   I  and II B.Com(B&I) students   in the Seminar Hall.   Dr. K. Balasathya, Assistant Professor, Mannar Thiurmalai Naicker College, Madurai  has been invited as the resourse person. She explained in detail about New Government schemes relating to Banking Sector and also Skill India – PMKVY Scheme. She created awareness among the students on various Government Schemes provided by government. This was also useful to increase the level of employability.   A total of 140 students participated and got benefited in this program.

The Department of B.Com (Banking and Insurance) conducted a  Value Added Course on ‘Soft Skill Training’ to the III Year students. TCA.Srinivasa Prasad and CMA.Kumararajan from Prakruthi Management Services pvt Ltd. conducted soft skill program from 15.03.2022 to 26.03.2022. The experts covered topics on  how to face the  Interview, show attitude and body language to be followed. They also explained the  subject oriented knowledge required to face the interview. The entire  session was very interactive and effective. 65 students  of  III B.Com (B&I)  benefitted from this program.

The Department of Commerce – B.Com (B&I) organized the Consumer Rights day celebration  on 18^th March, 2022  at  Room No :105.  Mr. Hariharan , II B.com (B&I) created awareness by  delivering  a special address on Consumer Rights and needs to the students of I B.Com ( B&I) and also he highlighted  different types of exploitation prevailing among the consumers.  Totally   80 students of  I B.Com (B & I)got benefitted by this program.

The Department of Commerce B.Com ( B& I) organized an Industrial Visit to Dinamalar on  15.03.2022 for the B.Com (B&I) I Year students. The students visited the Dinamalar daily Factory and observed the processes involved in publishing newspapers.  They were accompanied by faculty members Mr. R.Dhamotharan, Asst.Prof of Commerce and Mrs. G. Karthika,  Asst.Prof of Commerce. Totally 80 students   got benefited through this visit.

The Department of Commerce B.com ( B&I) organized an Industrial Visit to R S Mills in Dindigul  on  14.03.2022 for the B.Com (B&I) II  Year students. This visit helped the students to understand the manufacture of various types of Roasting machine and process of roasting nuts, grains, seeds. They were accompanied by faculty members Mrs.V.Padmavathy, Head of the Department and Mrs.R.Nithyakalyani, Assistant Professor, Commerce.  Totally 64 students   got benefited  through this visit.

Cuentas, an Association of the Department of B.Com (B&I), organized an extension activity (SLCS-Samaaj-Seva), “Awareness Rally on Road safety” on 02.03.2022 in Nedumadurai village. The students of the Department created awareness on road safety through the rally by shouting the slogans related to road safety and by carrying placards emphasizing on road safety. The President of the village initiated the rally from the centre of the village and the students covered almost all the places in the village. Totally 42 students of II B.Com (B & I) were involved in this program under the guidance of  Mrs.V.Padmavathy, Head of the Department and Mrs.R.Nithyakalyani, Assistant Professor, Commerce.

            The students of B.Com (B&I) created safety awareness and distributed masks to the children of anganwadi, Nedumadurai on 02.03.2022.Totally 3 students of II B.Com (B & I) were involved in this program under the guidance of Mrs.V.Padmavathy, Head of the Department. Around 10 children in anganwadi got benefited out of this program.

Department of  B.Com (B&I) organized a peer teaching session  on 25.02.2022 in the II B.Com B&I classroom as a tool of Participative learning. Ms.Snehalakshmi of II B.Com B&I handled the topic “Preparation of Balance sheet in Banking Companies” to their peers. She explained the topic in an efficient manner and Totally 62 Students participated from II B.Com (B&I) and got benefited through the program. All the students observed her effective teaching attentively. The session was lively and interactive.

              The Department of Commerce – B.Com (B&I) Cuentas Association organized an extension activity (SLCS-Samaaj-Seva), “Awareness Program on Government Insurance Schemes” on 22.02.2022 for the people in Eliyarpathy village. The students of the Department created awareness on various government schemes available for Cattle breeding and agricultural activities to the farmers in the village. Also elaborated central government saving scheme – Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana Scheme. Totally 5 students of II B.Com (B & I) were involved in this program under the guidance of the Mr.R.Dhamotharan, Assistant Professor, Economics and nearly 30 people got benefitted by this program.

           The Department of Commerce B.Com (B&I) along  with Cuentas Association organized a Seminar on   “Financing through Public Offerings” on   12.02.2022 in the Seminar Hall. Mr.R.Kavi Arvindan, Associate Accounting, DXC Technology, Chennai, who is also our Alumnus of 2013-16 Batch, was the resource person.  He explained in detail about the process in raising finance through Public Offerings,  the treatment of  fixed assets and charging Depreciation – Practices and Procedures followed in Companies. The session was very useful as it was also focused on the employment opportunities. All the B.Com Banking & Insurance students participated. A total of 188 students participated and got benefited in this program.
