CUENTAS Association organized a   program on the topic  “Pride 2021” on 24.12.21 in NS Annexure Building. I and II B.com ( B & I ) (totally 142 students) participated in this program. Ms.Vidhya  of III B.Com ( B & I ) gave the welcome address. The Competitions like Turn a Coat, Ad-Zap, Tamil Elocution and English Elocution were conducted. Most of the students of I B.Com & II B.Com participated in the competition enthusiastically. Prize winners were announced by the judges for different events. The Vote of thanks was given by Mr. Nagarjun of II B.Com (B & I ). The program ended with a National Anthem.

The Department of Commerce B.Com (B&I) organized a Seminar on   “ Digital Banking”  on   24.12. 2021  in II B.Com (B& I) Class Room. Mr.Ismath Jafri, Credit Manager- Home Loan, Navi Finserv , Chennai  was the resource person.  He explained in detail about Digital Banking and their types of Digital payments, Digital Product service and   Benefits of Digital Banking. He, also, mentioned the current scenario    of Digital Banking. This Seminar will help students to get an idea about the function and role of  Digital  banking . A total of 65 students participated and got benefited in this program.

The B.Com (Banking and Insurance) Board of Studies meeting for the academic year 2021-22 (Even Semester) was held on 11.11.2021 at 02.00 pm through online mode. Semester II, IV & VI syllabus for the batch 2021-2024, 2020-2023 and 2019-2022 respectively was  discussed with the experts and finalized.

A Field visit to Tuticorin VOC Port Trust was organized for students of B.Com (Banking and Insurance) on 03.11.2021. The students had the great opportunity to learn the operations of Tuticorin VOC Port Trust . Students got the experience of witnessing a Cargo Ship, thereby observing its functions. The authorities at Tuticorin VOC Port Trust were kind enough to elaborately explain the day to day activities at the port. Students felt the visit to be very useful and funfilled. Totally, 125 students from II year and III year B.Com (B&I) were involved in this field visit.

Student of B.Com B&I  Mr. Nagarjun   of  II year  gave a  speech on  Health Insurance  on 01.11.21  in our Community radio “Shyamalavani.”  He gave a detailed explanation about Claim procedures in Health Insurance and   its benefits. It would be very useful for the listeners.

 Student of B.Com (B&I) Ms. Abinaya of II year gave a speech on Crop Insurance on  01.11.21 in our Community radio “Shyamalavani”,.She explained Types, Coverage, Function, Claim Process, Renewal Process and Advantage of Crop insurance. It would be useful for the listeners. Through this program people in and around our College gained more insight into it.

The Department of B.Com (B&I) conducted an online   PTA (Parents Teachers Association) Meeting II for the students of II & III B.Com ( B&I) on 29.10.21. Ms. V.Padmavathy, Head,B&I conducted for III Year, Ms. Nithya Kalyani, Assistant Professor, B&I conducted for II Year. The faculty members  explained to the parents about their wards’ attendance and II internal mark details and also informed them about the upcoming summative examination.

      Fresher’s Day Programme for I B.Com(B&I)  Students was organized by the Department of Commerce (B&I) on 27.10.2021.The programme commenced with a Prayer followed by Welcome Address delivered by Ms. Vidhya of III B.Com(B&I) .   The presidential address was delivered by Dr.R. Sujatha, Principal, and felicitation address was given by Dr.K.Archunan, Vice-principal and Dr.S.Priya Dean- Academics. Ms.V.Padmavathy – Head of The Department.Mr R.Damotharan, Mrs.R.Nithya Kalyani, and Mrs.G.Karthika conducted the Ice Breaking Session.  Second and Final year Students of B.Com(B&I) organized  the programme. The programme ended with a Vote of Thanks.

       Cuentas, an Association of  the Department of Commerce  was inaugurated for the academic year 2021-2022 on 27.10.2021.The programme commenced with a Prayer followed by a  Welcome Address delivered by Ms. Vidhya of III B.Com(B&I) . The presidential address was delivered by Dr.R.          The Department of Commerce B.Com (B&I)  organized a webinar on  “Function and Role of World Bank” on 23.10. 2021. Shri.Shanthakumar Sundaram, operations officer, World Bank , New Delhi was the resource person.  He explained in detail the history  and   role   of the world bank and   also offered technical ,economic and monetary advice to member countries for the specific projects by world bank .This webinar would help students to get an idea about  the function  and  role of  the world bank . A total of 150  students participated and got benefited in this program.
