Value Added Course

The Department of BBA had signed a MOU with CII – Institute of Logistics for the conduction of a Value Added Course. The students who have successfully completed the course were issued a certificate in “EXIM – Logistics & Shipping Management” on 17.01.2019. This certificate will be of great help for their career in the field of logistics & shipping.

Workshop on “Import Export procedures

ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai had organized a workshop on “Import Export procedures”. Mr.G.Rajamurthy, Director, Global School of Foreign Trade was invited as the resource person. The resource person highlighted the necessary procedures related to Import & Export. The essential steps for excelling in exporting in India were explained. The students felt the session to be very informative. Totally 41 students got benefited through this program.

Visit to Industrial Exhibition

Students from the Department of BBA were taken for an Industrial Exhibition (INDEXPO 2018) at IDA SCUDDER Auditorium, Madurai on 22.12.2018. The exhibition was organized by Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (MADITSSIA). The exhibition showcased various leading industries in the field of manufacturing, services, logistics & shipping. The visit seemed to very useful and informative for the students.

Seminar on “Management of Foreign Exchange Operations”

ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai had organized a seminar on “Management of Foreign Exchange Operations” on 18.12.2018. Mr.B.V.Eswaran, Former Chief Manager, Indian Bank was invited as the resource person. The resource person highlighted the various operations and terminologies involved in Foreign Exchange and the methodologies to deal and manage it.  He also highlighted its importance and relevance to logistics & shipping. The seminar was very useful to the students. Totally 58 students got benefited through this program.

Extension Activity

Students from the Department of BBA actively took part in an extension activity at Nedumadurai Government School, Madurai on 12.12.2018. They donated erasers, pencils and sharpeners for the students. An awareness program on “Sanitation and Hygiene” was arranged. This was the impact of a survey on “Sanitation and Hygiene” conducted at Nedumadurai village. Finally, as a supporting measure for the green initiative, free tree saplings were donated to the school.

“Letter of Credit”

ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai had organized a workshop on “Letter of Credit”. Mr.B.V.Eswaran, Former Chief Manager, Syndicate Bank was invited as the resource person. The resource person highlighted the various documentation procedures regarding letter of credit and its significance in the field of Logistics & Shipping. Totally 58 students participated and got benefited through this program.

Value Added Course

The Department of BBA has signed a MOU with CII – Institute of Logistics, Chennai for conducting a Value Added certificate course on “Logistics & Shipping Management”. The first video conferencing class for students of   2017 – 20 batch started on 04.12.2018. The objective of this value added certificate course is to enhance the employability skills of the students in the logistics and shipping industry.

Business Quiz Contest

A group of advanced learners from the Department of BBA organized a Business Quiz contest on 08.12.2018. Students actively participated in the contest. The advanced learners created an opportunity for themselves to learn, practice and experience leadership skills and the nuances of organizing.

“EXPORT DOCUMENTATION” – Workshop

ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai had organized a One day workshop on “Export Documentation”. Mr.G.Rajamurthy, Director, Global School of Foreign Trade was invited as the resource person. Ms.M.Rohini, II BBA delivered the welcome address. The resource person highlighted the various documentation procedures regarding exporting. The ease of documentation was also explained. Dr.K.Rajesh Kumar, HOD – BBA delivered the vote of thanks. The program was successfully organized by the student office bearers of ZEAL, BBA Association. Totally 58 students got benefited through this program.

Student Entrepreneurs – Success Story 1

A group of self – motivated and vibrant students from II BBA involved themselves in entrepreneurial activities by learning the methodology of extracting honey. They had formally attended a training program on extraction of honey, which enabled them to start a business on their own. The students were thankful to the department for incubating the idea of entrepreneurship and its benefits. They are all transformed today as proud job providers rather than job seekers.
