Students from II BBA have been motivated to undertake seminars for their juniors. Students accepted the responsibility and discharged it effectively. The students from I BBA had an interesting experience to listen to their seniors. They also took it as an example of enhancing their communication skills and taking up similar initiatives in the future.
Teacher’s day was celebrated on 05.09.2017. The students welcomed the faculties and organized various activities portraying the importance of education and the role played by teachers. Teachers emphasized that students should learn with discipline, thereby marching towards becoming a responsible citizen. Students gave mementos to their teachers.
Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai had organized a Guest Lecture on “MEGA TRENDS IN ADVERTISING & PROMOTIONS” on 22.08.2017 for the students of BBA, B.com & MBA. Mr.N.Tirunavukkarasu, Proprietor, M3moneymanager, Coimbatore was invited as the resource person. Mr.K.Rajesh Kumar, HOD – BBA delivered the welcome address. Dr.P.Saravanan, Principal & Mr.K.Archunan, Vice Principal felicitated the gathering. The resource person highlighted the latest developments in the field of advertising & promotions and its impact on the market. The BBA department association was also inaugurated. Ms.Rohini, student of I year BBA delivered the vote of thanks. Dr.S.Pugalenthi, Deputy Director – MBA, Mrs.Padmavathy, HOD – B.Com, staff and students participated. Totally 58 students got benefited through this program.

Dr.K.Bhanumathi, Director, CII Institute of Logistics & Dr.K.Anandhi, Deputy Director were invited as the resource persons. The resource persons highlighted the various skills and talents to be developed among students to get employed. Dr.R.Lakshmipathy, Publisher of Dinamalar & President – Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy Foundation presided the function. Dr.P.Saravanan, Principal felicitated the gathering. Dr.S.Pugalenthi, Director – RLIMS, delivered the welcome address. Dr.R.L.Ramnath, Advisor – NAAC delivered the felicitation address. Mrs.Padmavathy, HOD – B.com delivered the vote of thanks. The program arrangements were looked after by Mr.K.Rajesh Kumar, HOD – BBA. Mr.K.Archunan, Vice Principal, staff and students participated. Totally 58 students got benefited through this program.
Exposure Visit – Dinamalar Production Unit, Kappalur, Madurai
First & Second year students from the Department of BBA were taken for an exposure visit to Dinamalar Production Unit on 28.07.2017. The process involved from procurement of raw paper towards printing of the final news paper was witnessed by the students. The staffs were kind enough to explain the various processes involved.
Factory Visit – Perrys Biscuits, Madurai
First & Second year students from the Department of BBA were taken for a factory visit to Perrys Biscuits on 28.07.2017. The processes involved from procurement of raw material towards producing biscuit as a final product was witnessed by the students. The factory staffs were kind enough to explain the various processes involved. The visit ended with a key note address by the Chairman.
Exposure Visit – RL Clean Power Plant Private Limited, Kalayarkovil
First & Second year students from the Department of BBA were taken for an exposure visit to RL Clean Power Plant on 27.07.2017. The various strategies for using Sun light as a conventional source of energy towards power generation was explained. The benefit of using Solar as a means of power generation over other sources of power was clearly demonstrated to the students. The students understood the various means of generating solar power.
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with Tamil Nadu Agricultural College & Research Institute, Madurai had organized a National Banana Festival from 21.07.2017 to 23.07.2017. Students from I & II year BBA were taken for a field visit on 22.07.2017. Interactive sessions & Guest Lectures with experts, explanations & exhibitions regarding innovative practices in banana cultivation were organized. The exhibition showcased various varieties of bananas. The event also covered some insights on supply chain and logistics in the banana sector. The students had a great learning experience.
A two days certificate course on First Aid was offered to students of II BBA on 29.06.2017 & 06.07.2017 respectively. Mr.Radhakrishnan, Lecturer – First Aid, St.John Ambulance Sevice, Thirumangalam, Madurai Dt was invited as the resource person. The course covered Principles of First Aid, Structure & Functions of Body, Life Saving Tech
Guest Lecture on “Export Opportunities in Entrepreneurship” was organized for students of BBA – Logistics & Shipping Management on 30.11.2016. Mr.G.Rajamurthy, Director – Global School of Foreign Trade & Director – Centre for Export Entrepreneurship Development was invited as the resource person. Knowledge on nuances and practices to be followed and understood while exporting was clearly imparted. The students felt the guest lecture to be very informative and interesting. An interactive session was also arranged with the resource person followed by the guest lecture, where the students got their doubts clarified by raising a lot of questions. The vibrancy and learning attitude of the students was highly appreciated by the resource person.
