Value Added Course on “Containerisation, EXIM and customs procedures”

ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized a Value Added Course on “Containerisation, EXIM and customs procedures” on 24.09.2019 and 25.09.2019. The resource person was Mr.Vallinayagam, Consultant – Faculty, CII – Institute of Logistics, Chennai. The resource person highlighted the different types of containers, issues and challenges in containerisation. He also explained the various concepts related to EXIM and customs procedures.

Seminar on Dream career opportunities in the logistics sector

ZEAL (BBA Association) of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science organized a “Seminar on Dream career opportunities in the logistics sector” on 24.09.2019. Capt.T.S.Ramanujam, CEO, Logistics Sector Skill Council was invited as the resource person. The resource person highlighted the various terminologies in logistics and it’s relevant in the industry. He also mentioned the various career opportunities available in the logistics sector and the relevant skills needed. Dr.S.Ganesan, Head – Education Initiatives, Logistics Sector Skill Council was also present.

Exposure Visit to Coir and Oil mills at Singampunari

ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized an Exposure Visit to Singai Coir Clusters Private Limited and ACS Oil mill at Singampunari on 23.09.2019. The processes involved right from the extraction of coir from coconut shell to the manufacturing of coir mats was witnessed and explained. Students also had the opportunity of meeting a real time entrepreneur involved in the extraction of oil. The various processes related to logistics and Supply Chain Management was explained in detail.

MoU Signing & Seminar

ZEAL (BBA Association) of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science organized a “Seminar on Development of Industry Related Attitude and Employability Skills” on 06.09.2019. Mr.G.Rajamurthy, Director, Global Institute of Foreign Trade, Madurai & Singai Coirs Cluster Private Limited, Sivagangai was invited as the resource person. The resource person highlighted the various skills and competencies needed in the job market. He also pointed out the means of maintaining a positive attitude towards employment. Department of BBA, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science signed MoUs with Global Institute of Foreign Trade, Madurai & Singai Coirs Cluster Private Limited, Sivagangai. The MoU will work towards summer training, internships and placements of students.Totally 72 students Participated and got benefited through this program.

Seminar on IPR

ZEAL (BBA Association) in collaboration with IQAC&IPR cell of SubbalakshmiLakshmipathy College of Science organized a “Seminar on IPR” on 23.08.2019. Mr.K.R.Gnanasambandan, Chairman, MADITSSIA Foundation Trust was invited as the resource person. The resource person highlighted the basics, scope and challenges of IPR (Intellectual Property Rights). He also pointed out some interesting examples from India related to IPR. The students were motivated to come out with interesting innovations and contribute towards the economic development of our nation.

Extension activity at K.Puliyankulam

ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized an extension activity at Government Kallar Higher Secondary School, K.Puliyankulam, Madurai District on 15.07.2019. Students were sensitized on the latest social issues and effective means of tackling it. 116th birth anniversary of former Chief Minister and freedom fighter K.Kamaraj was also celebrated. Students were motivated to participate in various activities like debate, elocution, essay writing, poem writing and skit. Prizes were distributed to the winners. This helped in boosting their self confidence and esteem.

Exposure Visit

ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai had organized an Exposure Visit to SNP Dairy Unit on 29.06.2019. The logistics and Supply Chain operations related to the procurement of raw milk to the dispatch of milk packets and the related byproducts were explained in detail. The students also witnessed the production process. The visit was really useful and very informative to the students.

Debate on “Management of water crisis”

ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai had organized a debate on “Management on water crisis” on 22.06.2019. Water scarcity has become a critical issue in our country. Students actively participated in the debate highlighting the role to be played by the public and the government. Interesting and feasible remedial measures were also explained by the students.
