Mr.P.Thirunavukkarsu, Head of the Department, Mr.P.Kishore Kumar, Instructor  and 5 students, Mr.M.Suriya (17351), Mr.B.Vetrivendhan (17355), Mr.M.Balaji Kannan (17311), Ms.S.Vibitha (17308) & Ms.P.Uma (17307) from the II Animation conducted Extension Activity on 30.11.2018 for the students of 8^th Standard in Government High school, Valaiyangulam on topic “Everyday Life with Design” & “E Learning”. Totally 100 students were benefited. We taught students about Traffic symbols, Colour harmony and how to use the social media properly. we got good feedback from the staffs and students.

On 09.11.2018 Department of Animation conducted orientation program for the I, II, III Animation Students. Faculties explained about their subjects. Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, Head of the Department urged students about the Discipline. He also advised students to clear their arrears as soon as possible. For III year students need for internship was explained and instructions to be followed during internship period were given.

Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, Head of the Department, Animation  Conducted a Group Show on October 22 to 28, 2018 at Lalit Kala Academy, Chennai, organized by Art & Culture Department, Govt. of TamilNadu to create awareness among the Public on topic Feminism. Special Guests of the Program were

– Mr.R.Lakshmipathy, JD, Dinamalar, Founder – Madras Central

– Mr.Karthigai Selvam, Managing Editor, Puthiyathalamurai

– Ms.Manushi, Poet, Sahithya Academy Awardee

– Mr.Viswam, National Awardee Eminent Artist

– Mr.Manoharan, Eminent Artist.

The program was supported and telecasted by Medias.

Department of Animation organised the Campus Recruitment Drive for the final year students (Batch 2016-19) on 17.09.2018, company 2AD Pro, Chennai conducted the Interview for them. Totally 26 Students participated and 21were selected. Mr.Nirmal, HR & Mr.Ramesh Dhanasekaran, Senior Manager from the company selected the students.

Department of Animation organised the Career Guidance Program for the final year students (Batch 2016-19) on 17.09.2018. Mr.Nirmal, HR & Mr.Ramesh Dhanasekaran, Senior Manager from the 2Ad Pro company (MNC – 2D based Company), Chennai Conducted the program. They shared about the Opportunities in the field, recruiting procedures, Training Methodologies, Mode of working and difference in the pay for the trainees & employees. Stress relaxation and Brain training games were conducted for the students. Students enjoyed the session and actively participated.

Our alumni Mr.S.K.Sathish Kumar (2011-14 Batch), Concept Artist, Technicolor, Bangalore conducted a Workshop on “Career Guidance – Current Updates and Openings in the Industry” for our I, II and III Animation students on 14^th September 2018.Mr.P.Kishore Kumar, Instructor, Dept. of Animation, introduced the guest to the students. Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, Mr.N.Naveendra Kumar, Mr.M.Purushothaman has done the needed arrangements. He spoke about the current situation & Opportunities in the Industry and conducted classes in Digital Painting & Concept Art in detail. Also he shared his Working experiences with the students.

சுப்புலெட்சுமி லெட்சுபதி அறிவியல்‌ கல்லூரியில்‌ அனிமேஷன்துறை சார்பாக19.02.2018 திங்கட்கிழமை தொடங்கி இரண்டு நாட்களுக்கு களிமண்ணில்‌ சுடுமண்‌சிற்பம்‌ செதுக்கும்‌ பயிற்சிப்பட்டறை நடைபெற்று வருகிறது. துவக்க விழாவில்‌துறைத்தலைவர்‌ திரு.P.திருநாவுக்கரசு வரவேற்புரை நல்கினார்‌. கல்லூரிதுணைமுதல்வர்‌ திரு.அர்ச்சுனன்‌ அவர்கள்‌ தலைமையுரை ஆற்றினார்‌.சிற்பத்துறை வல்லுநர்கள்‌ திரு.S.திஷாந்த்‌, திரு.M.செல்வம்‌, மற்றும்‌ திரு.P .ராமராஜன்‌ ஆகியோர்‌ சிறப்பு விருந்தினர்களாக கலந்து கொண்டூ அனிமேஷன்‌துறை மாணவர்களுக்கு பயிற்சி அளித்தனர்‌. அனிமேஷன்‌ துறை பேராசிரியர்‌திரு.V.செந்தில்குமார்‌ நன்றியுரையாற்றினார்‌.

We celebrated International Animation Day 2017 for two days on 5^th & 6^th January 2018. Industrial Experts Mr. Pradeep from Prism & pixels, Chennai, Mr. VijayaKanth, Matte Painting Artists, Chennai and Mr. Alagappa, 2D Animator, Chennai were Guest Lecturers.

Day: 01

Ms.Saranya, II Animaton welcomed the Gathering, the program was presided over by our College Principal Dr. P. Saravanan and Vice principal Mr. K. Archunan addressed the Felicitation address. Our department Head Mr. P. Thirunavukkarasu, Introduced the Chief guests Mr. Pradeep, Business Development –  VFX Executive Producer, Mr. Vijaykanth, Matte painting artist, Gemini Studios, Chennai.

Mr. Pradeep Industrial Expert addressed the chief Guest address,

He mentioned that our students are doing well in Industries; they are giving amazing outputs in short duration of training. He also explained about the MoU signed between our college and Prism & Pixel, Chennai, In future they are also going to train our students regularly by their industrial experts.

Followed by Mr. Pradeep, our chief guest Mr. Vijaykanth, Matte painting artist from Gemini studios, Chennai spoke to the students about current openings and scope of Animation in industry today.

Our respectable Principal and Vice principal honored the Chief Guests by presenting the shawl and memento.

Mr. Vijaykanth conducted workshop and gave demo on “How to do an Matte painting”. At the end of session, our department faculties and the Industrial experts discussed about the syllabus, arranging training classes by industrial Persons and updating the softwares.

Day: 02

Our department Coordinator Mr. Chenthil Kumar welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guests Mr. Alagappa, 2D Animator, Chu Chu TV, and Chennai.

Our chief guests spoke about the development of 2D animation techniques in the field. He also conducted class including,

Walk cycle, Turnaround of the character and designing BG for 2D Animation, based on lighting & shadows balancing, concentrating in colors of the BG etc.,

At the end of the session, Ms. Vibitha from I Animation delivered the “Vote of thanks”. Program ends with National Anthem.
