Our alumni Ms. G.Durga Devi, 3D Artist, Make Real Media, and Chennai conducted a session on “opportunities in 3D Field” for our II Animation students on 19^th December 2017.

Mr. Purushothaman, Instructor, Dept. of Animation, introduced her to the students.She spoke about the current situation of the Industry. Also shared her experiences in industry with the students.

Our Alumni Mr. Jeyaraman (2014-17 Batch), Creative Designer, 2AD Pro, Chennai gave a career guidance to our II year students about openings in Graphic Designing and Recent trends in designing.

• Our Alumni Mr. Santhuru (2014-17 Batch), Comp Artist, Prism & Pixels, Chennai gave a career guidance to our III year students about Compositing.
• He explained about the difference between 2D & 3D Comp.
• Also he discussed about the openings in the field.

• Our Alumni Mr. Abdul Aziz Hakkim (2014-17 Batch), Graphics Artist, Aravind Communications, Madurai gave a career guidance to our III year students about Recent trends in Communications.
• He also discussed about the difficulties in the Graphics Designing field.

• Our Alumni Mr. Aathi (2014-17 Batch), Digital Designer, 2AD Pro, Chennai gave a career guidance to our III year students who are going to participate in the Interview at 2AD Pro.
• He discussed about the openings in the field, Attitude development, Skill based knowledge etc.

A Study and Field Visit tour was arranged for the 1^st year Animation students to Alagarkovil to improve their knowledge in Photography and Drawing skills.

Mr. P. Thirunavukkarasu (H.O.D, Animation), Mr. V. Chenthil Kumar (Coordinator, Animation) and Ms. N. Selvi (Asst Prof, Dept. of Tamil) were accompanied the 50 students. Students were taught Photography and drawing by the staff members, they practiced drawing and live portrait sketches. It was a one day tour. The tour started at 9.00 AM and was over by 3.45 PM.

On 24 August 2017, 10 Students from Animation Department had participated in the Drawing and Verse writing competition organized by Madurai Isha Yoga Centre with the guidance of faculties Mr. N.Naveendra Kumar (Instructor, Dept of Animation), Mrs. N.Selvi (Asst.Prof ,Dept of Tamil). Mr.S.V.Sekar (Director and Actor) chief guest inaugurated the function and the theme of the competition is RALLY FOR RIVERS. The students S.Nagaraja Dharsan, S.Keerthiga, R.Thilaga Meena, E.Veera ganapathi, J.Pavithra, N.K.Buvaneshwari Meena, P.S.Monisha from 3^rd Animation and T.Sudharsana Raja, A.Gowri Shankar and M.Selva Meena from 2^nd Animation had participated in these competitions. S.Nagaraja Dharsan from 3^rd Animation won the 2^nd prize, cash reward of Rs.5000 in the drawing competition

On 10^th and 11^th August 2017 students and teachers from Marry Ann School – Madurai visited our college Animation department. Our Animation department’s “Roy Chowdhury Club” student members and faculties guided them and gave a presentation to them. Seminars were held; Role of Animation and its features were explained by our HOD Mr. P. Thirunavukkarasu. Totally 54 students and 4 teachers participated in this session. Our II and III year students gave demo to them. School students and teachers gave good feedback about the program.

On 8^th August 2017, Architectural Students (B.Arch) from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai visited our college. They visited our Animation Department. We screened our final year student’s project and their demo reel. Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, Head of the Department and Mr.P.Kishore Kumar, Instructor gave a presentation about the opportunity in Animation field. Also explained about the software’s Autodesk Maya and 3Ds Max role in Architectural Modeling.
