SLCS SamaajSeva -“Awareness on Savings Scheme”

SLCS SamaajSeva – an extension activity on “Awareness on Savings Scheme”was organised by the “Lakshya” the Department Association of MBA Program on 26th March 2022, at 10.30 am  at Eliyapathi village to create awareness on “Learning and comprehending various aspects of the State &the Central Govt. Savings Schemes” to the  village people. 4 I-MBA students organised this activity under the guidance of Dr S Sekar & Dr D Abraham Pradeep. Totally25 people from Eliyapathi got benefitted through this SLCS SamaajSeva.

Outreach Program (SLCS – SAMAAJ SEVA) -Awareness on women discrimination in cinema

The Department of Visual communication conducted an extension activity (SLCS Samaaj Seva)for Saamam NGO women self-help group in Kaariyappatti on 26.03.2022. Ms. Catherin Esther Roselin along with three students took part in it and gave a lecture on women discrimination in cinema. The people in the self-help group found the session very useful. Totally 40 women participants benefitted through this program.

Seminar on “Next Generation Challenges in Food Microbiology”

FAGAS, an association of the Department of Food Science and Processing Management organized a Seminar entitled “Next Generation Challenges in Food Microbiology” on 26.03.2022. The resource person of this session is Ms.S.Vishnupriya Preventive Nutritionist, CEO and Founder of Nutricare A-Z. She explained the role of microbes in food industry and enlightened the new challenges in relation to microorganisms in various foods. She gave a detailed note on the emergence of new technologies and its advantages in the microbial laboratories for the food analysis. She motivated the students to get involved in different research aspects in the field of food microbiology as they were the next generation people to hold on the importance of public and private industrial sectors. On the whole session was informative and the resource person clarified the participant’s queries. Totally 26 students (13students from I year FSPM, 13 students from II Year FSPM got benefited from this webinar.

Value Added Course – Soft skill Training

The Department of B.Com (Banking and Insurance) conducted a  Value Added Course on ‘Soft Skill Training’ to the III Year students. TCA.Srinivasa Prasad and CMA.Kumararajan from Prakruthi Management Services pvt Ltd. conducted soft skill program from 15.03.2022 to 26.03.2022. The experts covered topics on  how to face the  Interview, show attitude and body language to be followed. They also explained the  subject oriented knowledge required to face the interview. The entire  session was very interactive and effective. 65 students  of  III B.Com (B&I)  benefitted from this program.

Administrative Training programme on “General Skills of Cleaning Agents & Equipments”

The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management organized an Administrative Training programme on “General Skills of Cleaning Agents & Equipments” for non-Teaching staff of our college on 25.3.2022. Six Non teaching staff members were trained on the utilization of cleaning equipments and usage of chemical Agents. We also explained to the staff members on the cleaning procedures of kitchen, bathrooms and living rooms. This training programme has improved their skills on  the housekeeping operation procedures, besides, motivating and encouraging them for better living conditions of the staff  members.

Course Committee Meeting

       The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management conducted a Course Committee Meeting on 25.3.22. Usually this is conducted  before the commencement of two Internal Examinations. The students expressed their valid suggestion related to current courses and teaching plan, Portion coverage of each courses, . The students have provided a valuable feedback and it would be consolidated and implemented in the curriculum  for an effective teaching-learning process. In this meeting, 12 second-year students, the department’s head, and one faculty member actively participated.

Seminar on “Recent trends in Business & Commerce”

ZEAL, an Association of BBA, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai organized a seminar on “Recent trends in Business & Commerce” on 25.03.2022 for final year UG commerce students of Amman Arts and Science College, Dindigul. Dr.K.Rajesh Kumar, HoD – BBA has addressed the session as the resource person. Mr.R.Gopi (II BBA), Ms.V.Gobika (II BBA) and Ms.C.Aarthy (I BBA) have accompanied the resource person as co-trainers. The resource person along with his co-trainers elaborated the basics of business, commerce along with its latest developments. Some interesting case studies and real life examples were also narrated. A total of 96 students participated and got benefited through this seminar.

Dr.K.Rajesh Kumar, HoD – BBA has addressed the session as the resource person. Mr.R.Gopi (II BBA), Ms.V.Gobika (II BBA) and Ms.C.Aarthy (I BBA) have accompanied the resource person as co-trainers. The resource person along with his co-trainers elaborated the current advancements in the field of business and commerce. The students felt the seminar to be very interesting and interactive. A total of 38 students participated and got benefited through this seminar.

Industrial Visit at Idhayam Oil Factory, Villipathiri, Virudhunagar

The Department of Commerce (Hons) ACCA students and teachers visited the Idhayam Oil Factory, Villipathiri, Virudhunagar on 25.03.2022. The visit was an experiential learning and helped us to understand the production process of oil. The IDHAYAM is the fastest-growing cooking oil brand in India and a pioneer in producing healthy cooking oils for over 8 decades. The students learnt the process involved in the oil extraction and also had an idea about the By-products and the waste product, which after further processing have got a great commercial value, revenue and workers unit. 43 students from I, II and III year ACCA participated in the Industrial visit.
