Key Highlights:

v The Students of I BBA prepared Posters on the theme “Avoid Smoking” and visited the Eliyarpathi Village, nearby our College.

v They explained the evil effects of smoking and advised to stop smoking by creating the awareness among the general public.

v The students were accompanied by Dr, Chandran, AP – Department of Tamil

Outcome(s) of the activity:

v The villagers and the businessmen in and around Eliyarpathi village appreciated the students and their concern in establishing the health among the villagers.

PROGRAM ON PRINCIPLES OF TIME AND TASK MANAGEMENT

The Students Forum of SLCS conducted a program on PRINCIPLES OF TIME AND TASK MANAGEMENT on 31st May, 2022. Mr. Mahesh H Chauhan a members of Students Forum belonging to I B.Com (B&I), delivered the welcome address. The resource person for the program was Dr.R.Sujatha, Principal, SLCS. Dr.K.Archunan Vice-Principal addressed the gathering by quoting his real life experience. Further Dr.S.Priya, Dean-Academics motivated the students by her eloquent words. The resource person explained the role of time and task management to excel in real life. She also quoted the importance of a month, a week, a day, an hour, a minute, a second and a millisecond. Students also shared their own experience on management of time and task. The session was highly interactive. Further, a video clipping was played reciprocating the value of time and students thoroughly enjoyed the humorous clipping. At the end of the session a time based group event was conducted for students, which was useful and interesting. The session helped the students be aware of time and manage their task accordingly. Mr. LOKESH R of I B.Com (Hons), delivered the vote of thanks for the valedictory session. Totally 324 students benefitted from the session.

KITCHEN SAFETY

HEBERT WILLIAM HENRICH Association of FIRE & INDUSTRIAL SAFETY Department in association with SLCS WOMAN EMPOWERMENT CELL organised an awareness program on 30/05/2022 on the topic “KITCHEN SAFETY”. Mr.V.DHAMOTHARAN & Mrs.A.PANDISELVI from the Fire & Industrial Safety department have acted as the resource person for this awareness program. This initiative created the awareness among the both male and female teaching staff who works in the Kitchen. During this activity the faculty members guided the people about the Safe Handling of Kitchen Appliances. The members explained what to do and what not to do during the happenings of fire accidents.

The aim of this activity is to emphasize and highlight about the need of safety precautions while working in the kitchen. Totally 18 faculty members got benefitted through the Kitchen safety awareness program.

SLCS-SAMAAJ SEVA – EXTENSION ACTIVITY ON “SAVINGS FOR BETTER LIFE”

The “Pinnacle Association” of the Department of Commerce (Honours) of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science conducted a SLCS – (Samaaj Seva) – Extension Activity on “Savings for Better Life” on 28/05/2022 (Saturday) at Eliyarpathy and Nedumadurai villages, Madurai. During the session, the students brought awareness on various small saving schemes (Post office and Bank schemes) to the village people.  Totally, 6 students and 1 faculty participated in the event and 30 households of the village got benefitted by the program. The students were appreciated by the village people for the initiative.

Extension Activity (SLCS-Samaaj-Seva) – Awareness program on Banking Schemes Extenn

              The Department of Commerce – B.Com (B&I) organized an extension activity (SLCS-Samaaj-Seva), “Awareness Program on Health Insurance” on 27th May, 2022  at Nedumadurai . The students of the department created awareness on important of Health Insurance through Mime.  Totally   7 students of  I B.Com (B & I) were involved in this program  and nearly 20 people got benefitted by this program.

ORIENTATION PROGRAM ON DIGILOCKER AND ACADEMIC BANK OF CREDITS

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science organized an Orientation Program on “Digilocker and Academic Bank of Credits” on 26.05.2022. Dr. M. R. Sumathi, IQAC Coordinator and Mr. N. Ramesh, Assistant professor cum NAD Coordinator oriented the students and faculty members about the importance and need of the Digilocker and Academic Bank of Credits (ABC).

Dr. M. R. Sumathi, IQAC Coordinator, clearly stated and oriented about what is Digilocker? Benefits of Digilocker and how does Digilocker works? The students and faculty members were able to understand the concept of Digilocker through the detailed Presentation.

Mr. N. Ramesh, Assistant Professor cum NAD Coordinator, oriented the participants about what is Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) and what is the importance of registering in the ABC? He also stated about the registration process of ABC. Finally the participants were able to understand the basic concept of ABC. He also informed the students that as an initiative of NAD Cell, the College will make arrangements of registering in the ABC.

Dr. R. Sujatha, Principal delivered the Presidential Address in the orientation program. Dr. S. Priya, Dean-Academics delivered the Felicitation address. Mrs. K. P. Maheswari, Assistant Coordinator (IQAC) cum Assistant Professor of Computer Science delivered the Welcome address. Mrs. R. Suganthi Hepzibha, Assistant Coordinator (IQAC) cum Assistant Professor of English introduced the Resource Persons and she finally proposed the Vote of Thanks. Totally 314 students and 21 faculty members participated and got benefitted through the orientation program.
