Board of Studies

Department of Animation conducted its 11th Board of Studies meeting on 24th December 2018 (Monday) for the even semester of Current academic year (2018-19).Dr.M.Thangaraj, University Nominee, Professor & Head, Department of Computer Science, School of Information Technology, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, Mrs. Shanmuga @ Mohana, Assistant professor, Department of Visual communication, American College, Madurai and Mr. Nagendran, Asst. professor, Art department, American College, Madurai as subject experts, Mr.Balashyameshwaran, as Industry Expert and Mr. M.Abdul Aziz Hakkim our past student as Alumni member attended the meeting and gave valuable comments and suggestions about the syllabus. It is resolved to continue with the existing syllabus for 2016-19 & 2017-20 Batches. For 2018-21 Batch students, (Part-IV) Environmental Studies Paper Examination mode is converted from normal written examination to Online Examination. Faculty members Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, HoD, Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, Mr.M.Purushothaman, Mr.N.Naveendra Kumar and Mr.P.Kishore Kumar were the members of the meeting and they done all the arrangements.

Workshop on “Import Export procedures

ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai had organized a workshop on “Import Export procedures”. Mr.G.Rajamurthy, Director, Global School of Foreign Trade was invited as the resource person. The resource person highlighted the necessary procedures related to Import & Export. The essential steps for excelling in exporting in India were explained. The students felt the session to be very informative. Totally 41 students got benefited through this program.

Value Added Course

The Department of Computer Science & IT conducted Value Added Course on “Security Fundamentals” from 17.12.2018 to 22.12.2018 for II B.Sc CS (SSS) students.  Mr. Nagakumar , CEO , Metro Lab, Hyderabad was trainer. The training was given on the following topics, Operating System Security, Security Layer, Network Security and Security Softwares. The session was very helpful to the students to appear for MTA examination in Security Fundamentals.

Visit to Industrial Exhibition

Students from the Department of BBA were taken for an Industrial Exhibition (INDEXPO 2018) at IDA SCUDDER Auditorium, Madurai on 22.12.2018. The exhibition was organized by Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (MADITSSIA). The exhibition showcased various leading industries in the field of manufacturing, services, logistics & shipping. The visit seemed to very useful and informative for the students.

Board of Studies meeting for the Department of Food Science and Processing Management  for the academic year 2018 -2019 was held  on 22.12.2018 at 11.00 at the college board room. The meeting was conducted with  Mrs. Nagammal, Head, Department of Food Science and Nutrition, Sourashtra College for Women and Mrs. Poornima Jeyasekaran, Assistant Professor, Department of Food Science and Nutrition, American College as subject experts and Mr. Mohan, Head, Technical, Naga Mills Ltd., Dindigul as industrial expert. Suggestions for improvement of the syllabus were identified and documented.

The Board of Studies meeting for the academic year 2018 – 2019 Even Semester for B.Com (B & I) was held on 22-12-2018 at 3.00 pm, in Board Room. In this resolutions were made to change the examination mode for Environmental studies in II semester from descriptive mode to online mode and revision were made in Indirect tax in VI semester. These changes will come into effect from the 2018-19 even semester onwards.

The examination mode for Environmental studies in II semester has been changed from descriptive mode to online mode. These changes will come into effect from the 2018-19 even semester onwards.

Seminar on “Management of Foreign Exchange Operations”

ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai had organized a seminar on “Management of Foreign Exchange Operations” on 18.12.2018. Mr.B.V.Eswaran, Former Chief Manager, Indian Bank was invited as the resource person. The resource person highlighted the various operations and terminologies involved in Foreign Exchange and the methodologies to deal and manage it.  He also highlighted its importance and relevance to logistics & shipping. The seminar was very useful to the students. Totally 58 students got benefited through this program.

Guest Lecture

On behalf of Department of CS & IT, Guest Lecture has been organized on 17.12.2018 for II B.Sc CS(SSS) students at Seminar Hall. The resource person of this session Mr.Nagakumar, Managing Director, Metro Labs, Hyderabad shared his own industry experience and the various job opportunities in IT industry.

Mr.Nagakumar advised students not to participate more in social medias through posting their selfies and their own videos to avoid misuse of their videos. He advised students to improve their programming knowledge to excel in IT industry.

Panneer Selvam, Associate Professor, was acted as an University Nominee, & Dr. R. Kannan, Professor & Research Guide, Centre for Tourism and Hotel Management, Madurai Kamaraj University was represented as a Subject Expert, Head of the Department Mr. C. Sureshkumar was represented as a Chairperson, Department Faculties, M.SasiKumar Alumni, Parent and Student representative has participated as a members in the Board of Studies Meeting.
