CAREER COUNSELLING ON “JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION”

On behalf of Department of Computer Science & Information Technology Career Guidance took place on 19th of July 2018 for III B.Sc CS and III B.Sc IT students at Communication Lab. The session was started with the welcome address by J.Sriram, III B.Sc CS and the presidential address was delivered by our Vice Principal Dr.K.Archunan. Then our Coordinator delivered felicitation & introductory address about the resource person. The resource person of this session Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Pandurangan, Founder/CEO of Doorhunt.com, Digital Manager and Certified ScrumMaster and Mr.Shalia, Co-Trainer shared the recent trends in IT industry. Also they shared their own company job openings and projects they are currently doing. At the end of the session the trainer shared the job opportunities in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) which is currently blooming domain in IT industry. Also he referred few websites for earning while the students are learning. And he assured that he will provide internship training for the final year students in his company. Finally session came to an end with vote of thanks by J.Rishwan Ahamed, III B.Sc IT.

NETKINGS ASSOCIATION MEET

On 17th July 2018, Department of Networking organized “NET KINGS”-ASSOCIATION MEET 2K18 for 2nd and 3rd year students. The session was started with the prayer song. Welcome speech by R. Bharathan III B.SC Networking. Dr. K. Aruchunan, Vice principal, gave an Inaugural Address. Mr. M. Athigopal, Head of Department, Department of Networking gave an introduction about the Association Meet.

Students from second and third year made a presentation on current affairs about “BIT COINS” by K. Lingeswaran, II B.SC Networking and Technical Talk in “DELETE YOURSELF” by J. Nandha Kumar, III B.Sc. Networking. It was about the social media awareness.

The New Secretaries, Mr. J. Nandha kumar [16913] III B.SC Networking and Mr. P. Prasana Kumar [17927] of II B.Sc Networking were selected by our faculty and announce in the gathering.

The program was successfully completed with Vote of Thanks  delivered by S.Pavithra II B.Sc Networking.

‘Journalism’ – Guest Lecture

On July 11, 2018 a guest lecture on “Journalism” was organized in the department of Visual Communication. First year students of B.Sc. Visual Communication attended the session. The guest Ms.E.L.Shanmugapriya, web content writer in News 7 Channel, shared the information about the theoretical Journalism, Web content writing, Objectives of a Journalist and Ideas in practical journalism. Ms. E.L.Shanmugapriya is an Alumna of the department. The lecture was productive and useful for the students.

BRIDGE COURSE

The Bridge course was conducted for the students of I B.Sc Computer Science(Security System Specialization)  from 02/07/18 to 07/07/18. The students were given basic training on their subjects included in Semester I. The students strength of I B.Sc Computer science is 58. The students were classified into 2 sections and the bridge course was conducted for them. The students got the basic knowledge in the subjects such as Tamil, English, Programming in C, Computer Organization, Mathematical Foundation, Programming in C Lab and Office Automation Lab.

Some students completed their schooling in Tamil medium. Those students were given training in basic grammar such as  tenses, active and passive voices, direct and indirect speeches. Also, the training given in Tamil language was useful for the students those who completed their schooling in English medium. The students from non computer science background were given training on how to write algorithms. They were given training in basic programming concepts using C language. Also the students were given training on MS Office softwares for opening and editing a document. The basic concept of computers such as generations of computers, types of computers, functional units of computers were taught for them. Eventually, the students got basic knowledge in their subjects.

The training reduces the gap between the schooling and college and was useful for the students to get knowledge in their subjects and to know college rules and all.

BRIDGE COURSE

The Bridge course was conducted for the students of I B.Sc Networking from 02/07/18 to 07/07/18. The students were given basic training on their subjects included in Semester I. The student strength of I B.Sc Networking is 31. The bridge course was conducted for them. The students got the basic knowledge in the subjects such as Applied Mathematics for life, Technical Terms of networking, Basics of Networking devices, Tamil and Basics of Communication skills.

Eventually, the students got basic knowledge in their subjects.

TECH TALK

Department of Computer Science and Information Technology conducted TechTalk event on 06, July 2018 at Seminar Hall. The TechTalk event was started with a devotional prayer song. K.J.Venkatesh of III B.Sc CS (SSS) had delivered the welcome speech. C.Shanmuga Priya of III B.Sc CS & M.K.Naachiyappan of II B.Sc CS(SSS) did comparing for the whole section. And the session continued with the power point presentation by the students, R.Gokul & A.Gowtham about “Computer Security”, J.Rizwan Ahamed &A.K.P.K.Navaneethan about “Introduction to HoneyPot” and R.Saravana Kumar & T.Nakkeran about “Programming in Java”. The session came to an end with the vote of thanks delivered by R.Krishnaveni of  II B.Sc CS(SSS).

BRIDGE COURSE

The department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management has was organized bridge course  program  for the department I – year  students on 2.07.2018 to 04.07.2018 Mr. C.Sureshkumar, Head  was addressing the students and informed about the rules and regulations, Department Discipline, Academic details, Syllabus, Attendance, Department Activity, Introducing the Staff members and Subject handling staff , and  after that  respective staff members were started their bridge course according to the schedule given by the Head of the Dept

ORIENTATION PROGRAM

On behalf of Department of CS & IT, orientation programme has been conducted on 02.07.2018 at 08.50 AM in Seminar Hall for I B.Sc CS (SSS) ‘A’ & I B.Sc CS (SSS) ‘B’ students. Our department coordinator Mrs.N.Anuradha introduced the subjects which they are going to study in I semester. Also she introduced all the department faculty members to them. Our coordinator instructed all students to follow the college rules and come to the college in proper dress code & grooming. Few students from II year & III year shared the resources available in the department to their juniors for enhancing their studies. Representatives have been selected for both classes. II year & III year representatives instructed the duties of representatives to them. G.Divya Bharathi of III B.Sc CS shared the importance of notice board and motivated the students to prepare contents for notice board regularly. T.Vigneshwaran of  III B.Sc CS motivated the students to be updated in Computer field apart from studies to excel in their career. M.Selva Revathi of  II B.Sc CS (SSS) advised the students to obey the instructions given by staff members to perform well in their studies. K.K.Rajasree of III B.Sc CS shared her experience about online certification. S.Shahosan of III B.Sc CS motivated the students to join in NSS to involve in social activities.

And the session continued with the power point presentation by the students, D.Keerthana & G.Divya Bharathi about “Automatic Car” , K.K.Rajasree & T.Lakshmi priya  about “Zero Day Exploit” and E.Bakyalakhsmi & N.Kanmani about “Palm Vein Technology”. The session came to an end with the vote of thanks delivered by R.Joan Joseph Rexith of  III B.Sc IT.
