Music Production Workshop

A Music production workshop was organized on 13/08/2018 for the students of 3rd Year FTVP. Students recorded, mixed and mastered a folk song composed by Mr.Hains & team, the duration of the song is 3 minutes. Music composing, recording, arrangements, Vocals and mixing were the key aspects of the workshop.

TRAINING PROGRAM ON FIRST AID

he Department of Fire & Industrial Safety has organized a two days Training program on Basic first Aid practices conducted by St.John Ambulance. Mr.S.Radha Krishnan lecturer (First Aid) of St. John Ambulance was the resource person for the training program. The 2nd Year students of Fire and Industrial safety Department eagerly participated in the training program and the resource person practically demonstrated the basics of First Aid practices to be followed during emergencies on affected victim. The students felt that the program was very useful to them and at the end of training program an interactive session was arranged to clear the doubts of the Students who participated in the training program.

CAREER COUNSELLING PROGRAM

The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management have organized Career Counseling Program on 11.08.18. for  All the third  year students of our department

The programme was inaugurated by Mr.C.Sureshkumar, Head, Dept of MC&HM, Mr. Sandip Chothe, Training Manager briefed following titles and he gave his presentation also

  1. about the student’s selection of their subject,
  2. Formation of their study habit and make them progress in those subject and activities and to attain the ultimate aim of getting good career as per their wish.
  3. Job responsibility of each and every individual position and persons
  4. Responsibility galley during operation

INTERVIEW SKILLS – GUEST LECTURE

A guest lecture on “Interview Skills” was conducted for the students of BBA on 11.08.2018. The students had a great learning experience. Dr.G.R.Balakrishnan, Executive Editor – Sagar Sandesh was invited as the resource person. The session was very informative and interesting. Students learnt the skills to be adopted in an interview along with the body language to be followed. Totally 17 students got benefited through this program.

CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAM

The Department of CS, IT & Networking conducted a Career Guidance Program for third year students on 10.08.2018 in seminar hall, SLCS. Mr.C.Muhunthaadithyaa, Software Developer Engineer from Amazon Development Center, India was Chief Guest. Dr.P.Saravanan, Principal, SLCS presided over the session. Mr.Athigopal, HoD (i/c) of Networking dept. welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest.

The base line of the program was to help prospective students to prepare for their career and to understand their technical hidden talent by strengthening their knowledge via interaction with the chief guest.

Mr.C.Muhunthaadithya emphasized upon the need and importance of strong basic knowledge in the subjects. He also trained the students to learn the concepts with the real time applications. The students were given sample scenarios and the solutions were discussed. He also gave many valuable suggestions to the students for their technical development.

The students actively participated and clarified their doubts in the domains such as Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Centers, Server Management, Application Programming Interfaces, Open Sources and Amazon Services. They also got clear idea about the roles of Software Engineers, Developers and Database Administrators in IT industries.

The program was very helpful for the students, to shape up their career and to boost up their confidence level. The faculty members of CS, IT & Networking also took part in the session.

INTERNSHIP VIVA VOCE – COMMERCE

The Department of Commerce conducted Viva-voce examination on 09th August, 2018 in Seminar Hall for the Final year B.Com students, they had presented their Internship training report through Powerpoint presentation in seminar Hall, the panel members are Mrs. V.Padmavathy, HOD, Dr..S.Gurupriya and Ms.B.Shanmugapriya, Assistant Professor. Dr. P. Saravanan Principal and Dr. K. Archunan, Vice-Principal examined and encouraged the students.

Harvard Business Review(HBR) Presentation

In a bid to further communication and reading skills of the MBA students, R L Institute of Management Studies conducted “Harvard Business Review (HBR) presentation” for the 2nd Year MBA students on 07th Aug’2018. Sought after articles from HBR were assigned to students numbering seventy-seven and they made a one-to-one presentation about the article assigned to them. This endeavor was of immense helpful to understand the presentation and communication skills of the students. 81 students from 2nd Year MBA is benefited from this program.

EXTENSION ACTIVITY ON BASIC FIRST AID & BASIC FIRE SAFETY

The Department of Fire and Industrial Safety has organized an Extension Activity at Froebel Friedrich vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Aviyur on 07/08/2018. Our Department HOD and II year Students have presented the PPT, delivered the speech about Basic First Aid & Basic Fire Safety and Domestic Safety and gives a demonstrate how to operate the Fire Extinguishers while emergency time to the students, teachers and non-teaching staffs.

We have conducted the program in terms of the strategies they wanted to adopt and to create awareness on the day – to – day activities related to Safety issues. Our program was successful in creating awareness to the students and staffs on Basic Fire Safety and Basic First Aid as well as we received a very good appreciation feedback from them.

Totally 15 students participated in this program.

CAREER COUNSELLING ON “JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN IT INDUSTRY”

On behalf of Department of CS & IT Career Guidance programme have been organized on 06.08.2018 for III B.Sc CS and III B.Sc IT students at Communication Lab. The session was started with the welcome address by L.Dhanabal, III B.SC IT and presidential address was given by our Vice Principal Dr.K.Archunan. Then our Coordinator delivered felicitation & introductory address about the resource person.

The resource person of this session Mr. M.Lingeswaran, Associate Software Consultant Developer, AMTEX SYSTEMS, Chennai shared his own industry experience and the various job opportunities in IT industry. Also he encouraged the students to choose any particular domain to shine in their career. Finally the session came to an end with vote of thanks by G.Monica Priyadharshini, III B.Sc
