Orientation Programme

On 09.11.2018 Department of Animation conducted orientation program for the I, II, III Animation Students. Faculties explained about their subjects. Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, Head of the Department urged students about the Discipline. He also advised students to clear their arrears as soon as possible. For III year students need for internship was explained and instructions to be followed during internship period were given.

Orientation Program

On behalf of Department of CS & IT, orientation programme has been conducted on 08.11.2018 at 09.40 AM in Seminar Hall for I B.Sc CS (SSS), II B.Sc CS (SSS), III B.Sc CS & III B.Sc IT students. Our department HOD Mrs.N.Anuradha introduced the subjects which they are going to study in II & IV semester for 1st and 2nd years respectively along with the credits for each subject. She informed class in-charges for each class.

Class representatives have been selected for this semester. Duties and responsibilities have been shared by the previous semester representatives. Our HoD shared the importance of assignment mark and attendance mark to score good marks in internals and advised all students to follow the college rules and come to the college in proper dress code & grooming.

Orientation Programme

The Department of MC&HM organized Orientation Programme for I & II year students on. 08.11.2018. This was held in Training Restaurant at 8.30 a.m. in our college. Totally 151 students participated in this programme. Mrs. G.S.Subbulakshmi , Asst Professor gave welcome speech , Introduction of New Staff prepared by Mr. Anand, Asst Professor. Orientation programs facilitate the transition and integration of students into the college learning environment. Mr.C.Sureshkumar, HOD elucidated the I year and II year students in relation to Personal Grooming, Regular wearing of Identity Card, Discipline in the class and college premises, course curriculum – syllabus, Time table, rules and regulation of Hostel and College, Special classes for the arrear students, the significance of each subjects (Theory and Practical), Scheme of Examination, Regular class test, Regular submission of Practical  Observation Note, Record note submission, Assignments, Attendance,  Extracurricular activities, Physical education, Swimming Mr. Gangadharan, Asst Professor delivered Vote of Thanks. The program ends at 10.00 a.m.

Career Counselling on DBF Exam Coaching

Department of Commerce B.Com Banking & Insurance conducted a Career guidance program to the III Year students on 08.11.2018.  Mr.Vijayavel alumnus (2013-15 batch) of B.com Banking & Insurance shared his experience in preparing for Diploma in banking and finance (DBF) examination. He explained how to face the exam and some simple methodologies to prepare for the exam. It was very useful to the III B.Com (B&I) students who are preparing for DBF exam. Around 48 students participated and got benefited.

And for I B.Com Honours Dr.K.Archunan, Vice Principal, SLCS gave a detailed explanation about even semester syllabus and subject credits in their Class room. Dr.S.Gurupriya, Ms.B.Shanmugapriya, B.Nagarathinam and R.Damotharan – Asst. Professors conducted the Ice Breaking Session.

Board of Studies

The first Board of studies meeting for B.Com Honours course was conducted on 17.10.2018 in the Board room between 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. The resource persons and the members of BOS gave their valuable suggestions in framing the syllabus and the syllabus for B.Com Honours for the academic year 2018-19 was approved by all.

Alumni Interaction

Our Alumnus Mr.S.P.Balasubramanian, (2013-16 batch) who is doing his MSW in Madras Christian College interacted with our  I B.Com (B&I) students, he shared his experience with them as a social worker and insisted that the students should have some social responsibility for the welfare of the nation.

Group Painting Show

Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, Head of the Department, Animation  Conducted a Group Show on October 22 to 28, 2018 at Lalit Kala Academy, Chennai, organized by Art & Culture Department, Govt. of TamilNadu to create awareness among the Public on topic Feminism. Special Guests of the Program were

– Mr.Karthigai Selvam, Managing Editor, Puthiyathalamurai

– Ms.Manushi, Poet, Sahithya Academy Awardee

The program was supported and telecasted by Medias.

Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam Birthday Celebration

Cuentas Association of Commerce Department celebrated Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam’s Birthday on 15-10-2018. The programme commenced with prayer followed by Welcome address delivered by Ms.Selvameena, of II B.Com. Competitions like Drawing, Essay writing and Phrase writing was conducted. Also a debate was conducted on the topic ‘youngsters can come for politics or Not’, Dr.K.Archunan, Vice Principal, was the chief guest. Students of B.Com (B&I) and B.Com (Honours) actively participated. Vote of thanks was given by Ms.Anjana of II B.Com (B&I). The program ended with National Anthem.
