Farewell Programme
II & I year B.Com (B&I) students organized Farewell meet to III B.Com (B&I) Students on 02.03.2019. The programme commenced with Prayer song followed by Welcome Address delivered by Mr.M.Hariharan of II B.Com(B&I), Dr.K.Archunan, Vice-principal and Mrs.V.Padmavathy, Head of the Department conveyed their best wishes to all the outgoing students and Mr.Mukil Prabu of III B.Com(B&I) cherished his memories in SLCS. Many games were conducted by II & I year B.Com (B&I) students to entertain III year students. The programme ended with national anthem.
Short Film Making
On 26.02.2019, II nd year B.Sc. VISCOM Students have shot their short film – Film Making Project. As per their story, they have erected a simple “Emaloga set in the video studio. Our Principal Dr.P.Saravanan and Mr.M.Adhi Gopal, Head Networking Department inaugurated the shoot with Pooja.
Dance Unplugged
The students of Visual Communication department are filming the event “Dance Unplugged” multilingual Concert. This event was organized by the Meenakshi Mission Hospital and research centre Madurai for the treatment of children with cancer on 23 February 2019. As a media partner Visual communication department of subbalakshmi Lakshmipathi College of Science offered the video and photo shoot for the event.
Our department has given Media Support to this Multilingual Concert event. Visual Communication students have shot the video and photos of the entire event worth rupees one lakh. Dr.M.Raghukalidasan,HOD Viscom has received media partner award on behalf of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy college of science from the organizers as an appreciation for our contribution to the event coverage.

Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management has organized National Seminar on “Globalization and its impact on Tourism and Hospitality Education in India “on 22.2.2019. We have invited as a chief guest L. Ravikumar, Additional General Manager, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (A Government of India Enterprise) Chennai. Dr.B.George , Principal i/c . Associate Professor & Head , Department of Tourism Management Madurai Kamaraj University College, Madurai he has taken technical session Dr.R.Kannan , Professor and Research Guide Center of Tourism and Hotel Management, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. he has taken technical session II Mr.Mohammed Shreiff. General Manager, Regency Madurai by GRT Hotels , Madurai He has given valediction. and Dr.P.Saravanan Principal, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science he has given presidential address on this programme.Totally 70 students got benefited through this program.
Guest Lecture on TV Production
Our Alumnus Mr.M.Vekatraman(2015-17) M.Sc Viscom who works for Sun TV gave a Lecture on television Production and reality shows on 21/2/19 for first year B.Sc Viscom Students. He elaborated various practical difficulties involved in Television Production.
Board of Studies
On 20/2/19 the Department of Visual Communication conducted BoS meetings for the Academic year 2018-19. University nominee Dr.Ilamparithi CFEMS- MKU and subject expert Dr.Shylaja Head-Visual Communication, American College participated in the meeting along with visual communication staff members of SLCS. The examination mode for Environmental studies (IInd Semester) has been changed from conventional method to online mode.

Workshop on GST
ZEAL, BBA Association, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai in collaboration with the Department of Commerce had organized a Workshop on GST on 16.02.2019. The resource persons were Mr.S.Nagalingam, Former Assistant Commisioner, Central Excise and Dr.P.Ponramu, Professor, Melur Arts & Science College. This workshop helped in easier understanding of GST. The importance of GST towards the contribution of Indian economy was also highlighted.
