A Mentor Meeting for the Even semester 2020 – 21 was conducted on 19.03.2021 at F36 class room. All mentors in the department met their mentees separately, in above mentioned venue, at 12.35 PM. Students shared their grievances and personal problems to their mentors.

Culinary Club -Carving Competition
The Culinary Club conducted a Carving Competition on 18.03.2021. It went on from 2.30 p.m.to 4.00 p.m. The competition was open to all the students of various departments. The interested students have enrolled their names to the convener for carving Competition. 12 students have participated in this competition and they were judged by Mr.K Perumal Kannan, Asst Prof., MC&HM and Mr. P.Anand, Asst Prof., MC&HM.

MoU signing with CMA CGM Shared Service Centre (India) Private Limited
Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai signed an MoU with CMA CGM Shared Service Centre (India) Private Limited, Chennai on 17.03.2021. CMA CGM is one of the world’s largest shipping companies. This MoU will benefit the students in the areas of knowledge sharing & development, internships and placements. The MoU, also, helps the company fulfil its Corporate Social Responsibility. The MoU was signed and exchanged between Dr.R.Lakshimpathy, President of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, Madurai & Mr.Kannan Ganesh, MD, CMA CGM Shared Service Centre (India) Private Limited.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE – MEHANDI COMPETITION
Extra Curricular Activities Committee of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, organized a Mehandi competition on theme ‘Indian traditional mehandi’. It was held on 17.03.2021 in communication lab of our College. In this competition there were 24 teams consisted of two students per team participated. Participants from various departments registered their names for this Event.
Conveners of this event were Mrs.N.Selvi, Assistant professor ,Department of Tamil welcomed the Participants and explained the rules and regulations of the Mehandi competition.
Team members of this event Mrs.S.Neela, Assistant professor , Department of Hindi also represented the Event and Evaluated the Mehandi performance of the Students. Score sheet also was given to the evaluators, the conveners and members .They awarded marks based on the theme, single hand filling, creativeness and clean presentation.
After successful completion of the event the convener and members of the competition awardeed marks for their performances. Based on the marks obtained by the team, the convener and members selected the teams for first, second and third places.
Finally the competition ended and the participants were appreciated for their wonderful performance. Around 48 students participated in the competition.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE – JEWELLERY MAKING COMPETITION
Extra Curricular Activities Committee of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, organized a Jewellery Making competition in Party wears. It was held on 17.03.2021 in communication lab of our College. In this competition, 09 students participated. Students from various departments participated and registered their names in the event successfully.
Conveners of this event are Mrs.N.Selvi, Assistant professor, Department of Tamil welcomed the Participants and explained the rules and regulations of the Jewellery Making competition.
Mr.R.Brameshwaran, Assistant professor, Department of F&IS represented the Event and Evaluated the performance of the Students. Score sheet was also given to the evaluators, the conveners and members who awarded the marks based on the theme, simple and updated designs.
After successful completion of the event the convener and members of the competition awarded the marks based on their performance Based on the marks obtained by the team, the convener and members selected the teams for the first, second and third places.
Finally the competition ended by giving appreciation to the participants. Around 9 students participated in the competition.
Fresher’s Day Party
The II year students of the Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management organized a Fresher’s Day Party on 17.03.2021 for the first year students, who joined in the academic year 2020-2021. The purpose of Fresher’s Day Party is to make the first year students to feel at home, to encourage their creative impulses and to boost their confidence levels. It is a day where the seniors and juniors bond and unite to celebrate being part of the college. The seniors welcomed their juniors by presenting them with mementos. The function started with the cutting of a cake followed by the key address delivered by Mr.C.SureshKumar, HoD, Department of MC&HM. Many activities were arranged for the freshers that included cultural events. Everyone got a chance to showcase their talents.

It was held on 16.03.2021 in communication lab of our College. In this competition there were 14 students participated. Participants from various departments registered their names in the event Successfully.
The Convener of this event Mrs.N.Selvi, Assistant professor, Department of Tamil welcomed the Participants and explained the rules and regulations of the Singing competition.
Mrs.S.Neela, Assistant, professor, Department of Hindi also represented the event and Evaluated the Singing performance of the Students. Score sheet was also given to the evaluators, the conveners and members who awarded the marks based on the theme, Sruthi, Thal and Pronunciation.
After successful completion of the event the convener and members of the competition awarded the marks based on their performances. Based on the marks obtained by the participants, the convener and members selected the students for first, second and third places.
Finally the competition ended and the participants were appreciated for their wonderful performance. Around 14 students participated in the competition.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE – RANGOLI COMPETITION
Extra Curricular Activities Committee of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, organized a Rangoli competition on the theme ‘Save nature Save nation’. It was held on 16.03.2021 near girls mess lawn of our College. In this competition there were 15 teams consisted of two students per team participated. Participants from various departments registered their names in the event Successfully.
The Convener of this event ,Mrs.N.Selvi Assistant professor department of Tamil, welcomed the Participants and explained the rules and regulations for the Rangoli competition.
Team members of this event Mr.Kishore kumar (HoD in charge, Department of Animation also represented the event and Evaluated the Rangoli performance of the Students. Score sheet was also given to the evaluators, the conveners and members who awarded the marks based on the theme, perfection and presentation.
After successful completion of the event the convener and members of the competition awarded marks for their performances. Based on the marks obtained by the team, the convener and members selected the teams for first, second and third place
Finally the competition ended and the participants were appreciated for their wonderful performances. Around 30 students participated in the Rangoli competition.
WORKSHOP ON PROPS MODELING IN AUTODESK MAYA
The D. P. Roy Choudhury Association of Animation Department organized a one day Workshop on “Props Modeling in Autodesk Maya” on 16.03.2021 between 10.00A.M. – 01.30 P.M. at Animation Lab-I. The Head i/c cum Assistant Professor of the Department, Mr.P.Kishore Kumar welcomed the gathering. The Resource person for this workshop was Mr. Prabhu, CG Artist, Tata Elxsi, Bangalore. The primary objective of this workshop was to educate the students about the essentials of working in 3D (basics of creating, embellishing and animating 3D scenes) using the features and tools of MAYA software. A basic demonstration of 3d Basic Prop Model, techniques and parameters required in the industry were explained by the Resource person.
The programme ended fruitfully with a Hands-on Training session. The Department Faculty members Mr.M.Purushothaman, Mr.M. Abdul Aziz Hakkim and Mr.N.Naveendra Kumar made all the arrangements for this workshop.
