The School of Animation and Media Studies (SAMS) successfully conducted an Alumni Interaction cum Career Guidance Program on 15th July 2024, titled “Anitalk on Mastering the Art of 3D Lighting: Techniques for Realistic Renders.” The event featured Ms. Jeyadharani, a proud alumnus from the 2020-23 Batch, who currently works as a Lighting Artist at Tata Elxsi Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. Aimed at II-year B.Sc. Animation students, the program was designed to offer in-depth insights into the field of 3D lighting.

The session began with Mr. B. Venkatesh, Assistant Professor – SAMS, introducing  the guest to the participants. Ms. Jeyadharani then shared her extensive knowledge and experience, discussing the latest trends in the 3D industry and the future potential of 3D lighting as a career. She also provided personal anecdotes from her professional journey, highlighting key skills and industry demands. The workshop was highly engaging and informative, with 23 students actively participating, gaining valuable knowledge on mastering lighting techniques to create realistic renders. This event further reinforced the importance of alumni-led programs in helping students stay connected to evolving industry trends and preparing them for professional success.

The School of Animation and Media Studies (SAMS) proudly conducted an Alumni Interaction cum Career Guidance Program on 15th July 2024, titled “Anitalk on Immersive Futures: Exploring Gaming, AR, and VR Technologies.” This enriching session featured Mr. K. Sanjay, a distinguished alumnus from the 2020-23 Batch, who currently serves as a Game Designer & Developer at Atina Technology Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad. The event was curated specifically for I-year B.Sc. Animation (Game Design and Development) & III B.Sc. Animation students, with the objective of immersing them in the latest developments and techniques within the rapidly growing fields of Gaming, Augmented Reality (AR), and Virtual Reality (VR). The program began with an introductory address by Mr. B. Venkatesh, Assistant Professor at SAMS, who warmly welcomed Mr. Sanjay back to the institution and introduced him to the participants. During his presentation, Mr. Sanjay offered valuable insights into the transformative impact of immersive technologies on the entertainment and media industries. He explored a range of topics, including the evolution of gaming mechanics, the integration of AR and VR in interactive storytelling, and the various career opportunities available within these dynamic fields. Totally 37 Students benefitted through this event.

ALUMNI INTERACTION CUM CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAM

The School of Animation and Media Studies (SAMS) hosted a Alumni Interaction cum Career Guidance Program titled “Anitalk on 3D Revolution: Navigating the Latest Industry Trends” conducted by our distinguished alumnus Mr. D. Prabhu (2014-17 Batch), VFX Senior Rigging artist in PhantomFx Studios (Chennai). The event targeted I B.Sc. Animation (Visual Effects and Film Production), I B.Sc. Animation (Game Design and Development), III year B.Sc. Animation, III year B.Sc. Visual Communication and P.G.Diploma in Animation Techniques students and aimed to provide insights into career opportunities in the field of 3D.

Mr. A.R.R. Arul Prince Raaj, Assistant Professor – SAMS, introduced
Mr. D. Prabhu to the Participants. He discussed the current landscape and future opportunities within the 3D industry, sharing valuable insights and personal experiences from his professional journey. His comprehensive overview covered essential aspects of 3D, the skills required, and the potential career paths available to aspiring artists.

 The workshop was highly beneficial, with a total of 88 students gaining valuable knowledge and inspiration from the event, underscoring the importance of such interactions in bridging academic learning with industry practices.

TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION

Teaching is a profession that teaches all other professions. A day is set aside to remember all the teachers. This day is celebrated in commemoration of Dr. Radhakrishnan, who was a staunch believer in education and was a well-known diplomat, scholar, and above all, a teacher. To carry forward this tradition, the Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management and faculty Induction Program cell jointly organized a Teacher’s Day celebration at the Seminar Hall on September 5, 2024. 62 teaching and non-teaching staff members took part in this celebration. Students expressed their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers on this day. Various gifts were given as a token of love to all the faculty members. Towards the end of the session, refreshment was provided by the department of MC&HM. The efforts of the students were appreciated by all the teachers.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO RUBY FOOD PRODUCTS PRIVATE LIMITED, PASUMALAI MADURAI

Department of Commerce B.Com (B&I) organized an industrial visit to Ruby Food Products private limited; Pasumalai Madura On 03.08.2023.Totally, 81 of II B. Com (B&I) students along with 2 faculty members Dr.A.Devi and Mrs.R.Nithya Kalyani visited the factory. The students were briefed on the evolution, Founder of the company, Management team, Functional departments and their innovative and distinctive products of Ruby Food Products Private limited. The students were able to witness the production process of Rose milk and other Dairy products directly. Students were interacted well with employees of Ruby Food Products private Limited to clarify their doubts. Students maintained discipline during industrial visit.

INTERNATIONAL CONFRENCE

The Department of Commerce of Theni NadarSaraswathy College of Arts and Science organized two days International Conference on “Exploring the Significance of Commerce in Today’s World” on 11.09.2023 & 12.09.2023. Totally, 26 students from II year B.com (B&I) participated in the conference. Mrs.R.Nithya Kalyani, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce (B&I) accompanied the students. The students actively participated and presented papers in the different aspects of E-commerce

PARENT TEACHERS’ MEETING

The Department of B.Com (Banking & Insurance) organized a Parents-Teacher meet for the I, II & III year students on Sep 9th, 2023 at 02.00 p.m. in their respective classrooms. Mrs. V.Padmavathy, Head of the department inaugurated the meeting. Mrs.E. Hema, Assistant professor, B.Com B&I engaged the session for I Year students and Dr.A.Devi, Assistant Professor and Mrs.R.Nithya Kalyani, Assistant Professor, for II Year students respectively. Mrs. V.Padmavathy, (HOD) and Mr. N.Arunkumar, Assistant Professor, engaged the session for III Year students. The main goal of the meeting was to create a common platform where teachers and parents come together and discuss the issues related to the student’s progress and ways to enrich their learning experience.

During the meeting, the following points were discussed.

  • The progress report about academic performance in the first Internal Exam briefed to the parents and their feedback is noted.
  • Attendance report was shown to the parents, dated from January to February 2023.
  • Parents were encouraged to motivate their children to participate in the Capshine program.
  • Feedback regarding the course subject from students was collected.

INTER COLLEGIATE MEET

The Department of Commerce of Mangayarkarasi College of Arts and Science for Women organized Inter Collegiate Meet on 14.09.2023.Totally, 20 Students from I & II Year of B.COM (Banking & Insurance) participated in the Inter Collegiate Meet. Mrs. E.Hema, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce (B&I) accompanied the students. The participants received awards for the active participation in all the events.

ALUMNI INTERACTION

The Department of Commerce (Banking & Insurance) organized an alumni interaction session on July 2, 2024. The event took place in Hall No: 112 from 10.00 AM to 11:00 AM. The resource person for the session was Mr. K. Hariharan, an alumna of  the  batch of 2020–2023. The event was tailored for first and second-year B&I students and focused on providing insights into details in DBF, the courses offered, and potential career opportunities in the field. Totally 112 students got benefited from this programme

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

The Department of B.Com (Banking & Insurance) conducted an ORIENTATION PROGRAMME on June 1, 2024, in Hall No: 104. The session was led by the Head of the Department, Mrs. Padmavathy. The event was attended by 45 students from the II Year and 80 students from the III Year B.Com (B&I). During the session, Mrs. Padmavathy provided a comprehensive overview of the courses offered, emphasizing the importance of discipline and the opportunities available through the Diploma in Banking and Finance. She also discussed the college and department’s Mission and Vision, course outcomes, program outcomes, and the importance of grooming and personal development in professional education. Totally 125 students got benefited from this programme.
