The awareness program on usage of mobile phones was conducted at T.P.K.P.U Middle School, Nedumadurai on 28/11/2018 by the Department of CS & IT, SLCS. The program was started with welcome speech by Mr.Kasi Rajan, Head Master, T.P.K.P.U Middle School, Nedumadurai. Mrs.N.Anuradha, HOD, Department of CS & IT, SLCS gave a brief introduction on mobile phones and their roles in our day to day life.

V.Karthiyayini, K.S.Shalini, A.S.Priyadharshini, S.Shruthikaa and N.B.Nandhini from I B.Sc CS (SSS) presented a mime act on impact of mobile phones in society. Through the mime the students came to know about the addiction towards selfies and how the mobile phone radiations harm our human body.

P.Jerald Giltus and M.Priety Leka of II B.Sc CS (SSS) had an interaction session with the students about the boons and banes of mobile phone usage. This interactive session gave the students some knowledge about the threats in social media and how to handle the phones in safe manner. S.Vikas and R.A.Sathish Babu of I B.Sc CS (SSS) demonstrated IOT project on home automation. Their demonstration gave an inspiration to the students.

The program came to an end with feedback from students of the school and vote of thanks was delivered by the faculty of the school by thanking the faculties and students of SLCS for conducting this awareness program for their school students.

s an outcome of various departmental activities like workshops, seminar, guest lecture, career guidance programmes and value added courses, department of CS & IT organized placement drive on 19.11.2018 at 10.30 AM for III B.Sc CS & III B.Sc IT students at Academic Lab II.

Two companies have conducted online test during that day namely Metro Labs, Hydrabad and Elint System, Salem. Both companies conducted online examination on general aptitude, language aptitude and technical aptitude. Mr.V.Lakshmi Kanthan, MD, Falconn Systems conducted online test for the students.

On behalf of Department of CS & IT, orientation programme has been conducted on 08.11.2018 at 09.40 AM in Seminar Hall for I B.Sc CS (SSS), II B.Sc CS (SSS), III B.Sc CS & III B.Sc IT students. Our department HOD Mrs.N.Anuradha introduced the subjects which they are going to study in II & IV semester for 1^st and 2^nd years respectively along with the credits for each subject. She informed class in-charges for each class.

Class representatives have been selected for this semester. Duties and responsibilities have been shared by the previous semester representatives. Our HoD shared the importance of assignment mark and attendance mark to score good marks in internals and advised all students to follow the college rules and come to the college in proper dress code & grooming.

Department of CS & IT and Networking jointly organized Career Guidance programme on 13.10.2018 for II B.Sc CS(SSS), III B.Sc CS, III B.Sc IT and III B.Sc Networking students at Seminar Hall. The resource person of this session Mr.A.Aladi Arun, CEO, AK Consultant, Madurai shared various higher studies opportunities in abroad. They are pioneer in assisting students to study at reputed Universities/Colleges in UK, Australia, New Zealand,
Canada, France, Philippines and Singapore.

Mr.A.Aladi Arun motivated students to write TOFEL & MAT exams to study in abroad. Also he discussed various universities in New Zealand and America, offering course in Cyber Security and Data Science. The session was good career guidance for the students.

On behalf of Department of CS & IT Career Guidance programme have been organized on 12.10.2018 for III B.Sc CS and III B.Sc IT students at Seminar Hall. The resource person of this session Mr.P.R.Karthikeyan, Managing Director, Elintsys Technologies India Private Limited, Salem shared his own industry experience and the various job opportunities in IT industry.

 Mr. Mr.P.R.Karthikeyan encouraged students to have a creative idea to excel in IT industry. He shared the importance of programming skill in IT industry. Also he shared the job opportunities available in IT industry in various domains. The session was an eye opening to the students those who waiting for placement.

On behalf of Department of CS & IT Career Guidance programme have been organized on 03.10.2018 for II B.Sc CS(SSS), III B.Sc CS and III B.Sc IT students at Seminar Hall. The resource person of this session Mr.Nagakumar, Managing Director, Metro Labs, Hyderabad shared his own industry experience and the various job opportunities in IT industry.

 Mr.Nagakumar encouraged students to have a creative idea to excel in IT industry. He shared the importance of Python in the development of Web application and cloud based applications. Also he shared the job opportunities available in IT industry in the domain of Python. The session was an eye opening to the students those who waiting for placement.

The two days training workshop on “IoT” took place on 20.09.2018 & 21.09.2018 for II B.Sc CS (SSS), III B.Sc CS and III B.Sc IT students. The resource person of this session Mr.S.N.S.Gopalan, CEO, Syndicate Incorp, Madurai had given strong knowledge in IoT domain.

Resource person trained the students with practical session by giving individual projects in IoT. As an outcome of this workshop students have been divided into groups and they have been assigned with a real time IoT project. The session came to an end with the various job opportunities in IoT.

 

Totally 25 students got benefited through this program.

On behalf of Department of CS & IT Career Guidance programme have been organized on 20.09.2018 for III B.Sc CS and III B.Sc IT students at Communication Lab. The resource person of this session Mr.S.N.S.Gopalan, CEO, Syndicate Incorp, Madurai shared his own industry experience and the various job opportunities in IoT.

Mr.S.N.S.Gopalan shared his own company job openings and projects which he currently doing. Also he shared the job opportunities available in IT industry in the domain of  IoT. At the end he assured that he will provide internship training for the final year students in his company.
