IoT Workshop

The two days training workshop on “IoT” took place on 20.09.2018 & 21.09.2018 for II B.Sc CS (SSS), III B.Sc CS and III B.Sc IT students. The resource person of this session Mr.S.N.S.Gopalan, CEO, Syndicate Incorp, Madurai had given strong knowledge in IoT domain.

Resource person trained the students with practical session by giving individual projects in IoT. As an outcome of this workshop students have been divided into groups and they have been assigned with a real time IoT project. The session came to an end with the various job opportunities in IoT.

 

Totally 25 students got benefited through this program.

CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAM

On behalf of Department of CS & IT Career Guidance programme have been organized on 20.09.2018 for III B.Sc CS and III B.Sc IT students at Communication Lab. The resource person of this session Mr.S.N.S.Gopalan, CEO, Syndicate Incorp, Madurai shared his own industry experience and the various job opportunities in IoT.

Mr.S.N.S.Gopalan shared his own company job openings and projects which he currently doing. Also he shared the job opportunities available in IT industry in the domain of  IoT. At the end he assured that he will provide internship training for the final year students in his company.

Alumni Interaction

On 20.09.2018, alumni, Mr.K.G.Harshan, CEO, Phixman.com (Batch: 2012 – 2015) interacted with I B.Sc CS (Security System Specialization) students by sharing his work experience. He shared about the resources and infrastructure available in our college and advised the students to utilize them effectively.

Mr.Harshan motivated the students to participate in competitions conducted by various colleges to gain self confidence and also he shared his own company started experience. The session gave career guidance for the students.

CAREER COUNSELLING ON “JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN INTERNET OF THINGS [IOT]”

On behalf of Department of CS & IT Career Guidance programme have been organized on 20.09.2018 for III B.Sc CS and III B.Sc IT students at Communication Lab. On 15.09.2018, alumni, Ms.M.Suruthi Lakshmi (Batch: 2014 – 2017) working as Software Developer, Tata Consultancy Service interacted with I B.Sc CS (SSS) students by sharing her work experience. She explained about the resources and infrastructure available in our college and advised the students to utilize them effectively. She also advised the students to concentrate on programming by doing many projects in Java & .NET.

Ms.M.Suruthi Lakshmi motivated the students to participate in competitions conducted by various colleges to gain self confidence and also she shared her work experience in TCS. The session gave career guidance for the students.

On 05.09.2018, alumni, Mr.S.Selva Kumar (Batch: 2011 – 2014) working as Senior Security Officer, Indigo Airlines interacted with CS & IT students. He interacted with the studentsI B.Sc CS ‘A’ & ‘B’ his work experience. He explained about the resources and infrastructure available in our college and advised the students to utilize them effectively. He also motivated the students to do many projects and to concentrate much on studies for better living.

Mr.S.Selva Kumar motivated the students to participate in competitions conducted by various colleges to gain self confidence and also he shared his work experience in Indigo Airlines. The session gave career guidance for the students.

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

As a tribute to the great teacher, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, his birthday has been celebrated as Teacher’s day in our department on 5th September 2018. Students expressed their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers on this day.

Celebration was started with prayer song and A.Sethuramanathan, III B.Sc CS welcomed the gathering. Our beloved Vice Principal Mr.K.Archunan delivered presidential address by sharing his own teaching experience in various institutions. Our department coordinator Mrs.N.Anuradha shared her own experience in teaching and also she discussed the role of a responsible student. Then faculties from our department, Maths and Language department were shared their own experience.

Few students shared their thoughts about teachers. Finally students played a skit. The session came to an end with vote of thanks by S.Sankaranarayanan, III B.Sc CS.

After this session, the students were given a chance to be a teacher on that day. They taught the technical concepts to their juniors. So P.Abirami of III B.Sc CS, S.Suryanarayanan of III B.Sc CS and S.Natraj Sharma of III B.Sc IT participated as teacher by taking lessons in present semester subjects for I & II year students.

The Department of CS, IT & Networking conducted a Career Guidance Program for third year students on 10.08.2018 in seminar hall, SLCS. Mr.C.Muhunthaadithyaa, Software Developer Engineer from Amazon Development Center, India was Chief Guest. Dr.P.Saravanan, Principal, SLCS presided over the session. Mr.Athigopal, HoD (i/c) of Networking dept. welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest.

The base line of the program was to help prospective students to prepare for their career and to understand their technical hidden talent by strengthening their knowledge via interaction with the chief guest.

Mr.C.Muhunthaadithya emphasized upon the need and importance of strong basic knowledge in the subjects. He also trained the students to learn the concepts with the real time applications. The students were given sample scenarios and the solutions were discussed. He also gave many valuable suggestions to the students for their technical development.

The students actively participated and clarified their doubts in the domains such as Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Centers, Server Management, Application Programming Interfaces, Open Sources and Amazon Services. They also got clear idea about the roles of Software Engineers, Developers and Database Administrators in IT industries.

The program was very helpful for the students, to shape up their career and to boost up their confidence level. The faculty members of CS, IT & Networking also took part in the session.
