PEER TEACHING REPORT

Mr.SuriyaKumar.A.H.B – 20227 of I B.Sc CS(SSS) explained  C Programming to 49 students of I B.Sc CS(SSS) through Google Meet. He taught his peers, the branching statement in C language , “if else” statement. He demonstrated using various examples, in a practical manner. The students clarified their doubts and the session was very interactive.

MENTOR MEETING REPORT

On behalf of the Department of CS, the fourth Mentor Meeting for the odd semester 2020 – 2021 was conducted online on 09.10.2020 in the Academic Lab-1 and Academic Lab-II at 11.50 AM. All mentors in the department met their mentees separately through Google Meet and Google Classrooms. Since the mentor mentee composition is updated in every academic year, all the mentors asked the mentees to  introduce themselves  in the meeting. Mentees shared their achievements, their grievances and various personal problems faced by them with their mentors.

PEER TEACHING REPORT

On 07.10.2020, Ms.N.Sivashankari – 20230 of I B.Sc CS(SSS) as a part of  Peer Teaching taught 45 students of I B.Sc CS(SSS), C Programming, through Google Meet. The concept of Special characters in C language was explained by her. Through Live demonstration the various examples of implementing the special characters were explained to the students. The students clarified their doubts through a very interactive session.

Course Committee Meeting Minutes

The Department of Computer Science conducted a Course Committee Meeting on 05-10-2020 at 2.20 PM to get the students’ opinion and grievances, if any, regarding academics before the conduction of Internal test-I. In this meeting, wherein 27 students and 5 faculty members participated, the syllabus coverage of each course was discussed through Google meet and Google class room. Students gave valuable feedback and were assured that their inconveniences will be taken care of and academic standards will be maintained through Management decisions.

PEER TEACHING REPORT

On 05.10.2020, Mr.Aathithyan.S.R – 20240 of I B.Sc CS(SSS) conducted a Peer Teaching session through Google Meet in C Programming for 46 students of I B.Sc CS(SSS). The concept of Arithmetic Operator in C language was explained by him. Through Live demonstration and examples, various arithmetic operators were explained to the students. The session was very helpful to the students and enabled them to practically do the various operatives.

ALUMNI INTERACTION

A prominent Alumna of Computer Science Department, Ms.R.Shruthi Lakshmi (Batch: 2014 – 2017), Programmer, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Chennai interacted with 48 students of I year CS (SSS) – Batch 2020-23 on 25.09.2020. She explained the Job opportunities available at TCS and the latest technologies implemented in MNCs.

It was an eye opening session for the students. Many upcoming Technologies and its applications were discussed. Ms.R.Shruthi Lakshmi spoke of the importance of Value Added Courses and advised the students to take up Online Courses to enrich their skills. She highlighted the job opportunities available and the demand for such domain experts in the near future.

ALUMNI INTERACTION

On 23.09.2020, Alumnus of Computer Science Department, Mr.T.Vigneswaran (Batch: 2016–19), pursuing Post Graduate Programme in Game Technology, interacted with 48 students of I year CS (SSS) (Batch: 2020-23), through Google Meet. He shared his learning experience at SLCS. He also motivated the students to concentrate on Programming Languages from the first year itself to develop their knowledge in Gaming Technology. The students clarified their queries through this interactive session.

ALUMNI INTERACTION

On 23.09.2020, Alumnus of Computer Science Department, Mr.S.Rajamanickam (Batch: 2016–19), Developer, MAVEL Technologies Pvt. Ltd. interacted with 48 students of I year CS (SSS) students (Batch: 2020-23), through Google Meet. He highlighted the Earn While Learn Program offered by the department and emphasized the technical experience he received through this program. He urged the students to enhance their technical skills by utilizing such opportunities provided by SLCS. The students clarified their queries through this interactive session.

MENTOR MEETING REPORT

On behalf of the Department of CS, the third Mentor Meeting for the odd semester 2020 – 2021 was conducted online on 18.09.2020 in the Academic Lab-1 and Academic Lab-II at 1.30 PM. All mentors in the department met their mentees separately through Google Meet and Google Classrooms. The mentees were informed that the mentor meeting will be conducted every Friday at 11.50am. The students were informed of the new mentor mentee list.Students shared their grievances and various personal problems faced by them with their mentors.

Students shared their achievements, grievances and various personal problems faced by them with their mentors.
